Went in for hair cut after first meeting with the owner and felt comfortable booking an appointment for my long thick hair. She listened and I could tell she knows what she's doing with long hair. Not everyone can cut a style into long hair! I brought a few pictures in she did a fabulous job. I was a hair cutter and I'm not easy to please but I'd definitely recommend her. I'm 58, and I just received the worst cut and style of my life. I think the girl (arriel?) may have been fresh out of cosmetology school, lacking any professional experience. My hair is just a mess; botched chunks instead of layers - which is exactly what i requested - layers/beachy layers and came armed with photos. No rhyme or reason to any of it, just blunt cuts that look like a Cricut machine chopped it. The bangs are the worst part, and I've pretty much greased back my hair every day into a very short pony tail to hide the horrible cut. My head of hair literally looks like someone just took kitchen meat scissors to it. It's pretty depressing. I think if she would have spent her energy on cutting and styling and not talking and asking a hundred personal questions, I might not be leaving a bad review. She didn't listen to one thing I asked for - I didn't want any product on my hair because it doesnt respond well to it, and she used three products. I did not want it round brushed and she round brushed it. I specifically said round brushing makes me look like an old lady. I asked for a shoulder-length cut and look like Moe Howard from Three Stooges. Four inches cut to look like a circus freak. I have an appointment tomorrow, in my home state to have it fixed and recut, costing me more time and money. I can't believe how horrible I look. What a way to make a client feel. I do not want a call, nor apology - that isn't going to change a thing. read more

It's always nerve-racking going to a new place for the first time, but I don't think I have ever walked out of a salon with a smile, feeling more like I just left a friend's party than a salon but that is how I would describe my experience at H & H Salon. Located in the downtown historic section of Stuart, in a charming Victorian style cottage where you walk from room to room depending upon who is your stylist or what treatment you require (i.e. cut, shampoo, color, etc.). Everything feels so upscale, comfortable as the owners and staff spoil you-- but the magic happens in the chair-- Holly is an artist and I left with a cut and style, that for the first time in my life is the perfect cut and contour for me. We all know how stressful it is trying out a new salon. Anxiety levels are heightened to the max! Also, I was going back to a red from a dark brown. I felt like I had the salon to myself that's how much attention I got and they were busy!! My color came out amazing and my cut was fixed from the salon before hacking it all weird. I gave em a hard time because again, new stylist, but they delivered!!! This place is pricey but I'm assuming it's because it's organic. Well worth it!
