I first discovered the Video Editor in 2009 when I worked with one of their editors for several months converting 125 8 mm home movies from the late 1930s to 1988. The project took about 6 months to organize the films in chronological order and then to select music from each era so it would be enjoyable to watch them. It was a great Christmas gift for our family to be able to easily access these precious films, as we have now for many years. Recently I received an email from Steve about transferring the films onto flash drives, which now gives a new generation of family members portability and access to their family history. I have worked with The Video Editor twice; the first time 10 years ago and last month. Both times Steve was professional and easy to work with. His price was fair and he delivered as promised. The first project was relatively straightforward putting a historic music video together on a CD for a fraternity reunion. The recent project was creating another fraternity music video but it was much more dynamic than the 2008 project because of the need to incorporate newly received pictures into new music videos. This project's media is on flash drives which is a longer lasting technology than CDs. It was very important that the music video quality was high. BEWARE. I would just pay them to just return my videos without transferring them. I have called and email multiple times with no response. I sent my videos to them in April and this is January 2018 and still have not received them. He finally responded after I sent a complaint to groupon. He said he was just now working on April 2017 orders because he had so many that came in during that time. He said that my CK had expired, whatever that is, and I would have to pay him an additional $12.95 if I wanted to receive my DVD's. This is the second time I've used The Video Editor to transfer media to DVD. The first time I only sent a few old video cassettes to see how it worked and if I liked the final product. The returned DVD's were great. It was so good to watch old home video again. This time I sent a batch of about 30 videos. Each one was reproduced and rubber banded to the original. Any writing on the original video was placed on the DVD. It took several weeks to get the return but it was well worth it. I felt the price was reasonable as well. One video contained no recordings so I wasn't charged for it. This was a good experience for me and I would recommend The Video Editor. read more

I just received my package back stating they refused it....after it being delivered and paying a huge shipping fee to ensure the safety of irreplaceable memories. After waiting 4 months! I finally got my VHS tapes turned into CDs. Inexpensive using groupon. But for 4 months Video Editor could not tell me if they had received my tapes. I labeled all my 12 tapes with a name but all CDs were sent to me with out a title or name. I rather pay extra for a professional label title on the CD so I know what's on it. I'll send my other VHS tapes to another business and pay a little more for a 100% professional job. On a positive side it was cheap, I got a call from the company that my CDs would be in the mail (after waiting 4 months not knowing) and the copies were done well. That's it! read more

I sent 12 video tapes last April. I called last June and was told they were working on them but very over-loaded. I patiently waited until mid-March and have left messages, gotten no response except a text saying they had a lot of tapes with no phone numbers, names, etc. I was very clear with them that I had included all the information, I kept copies. In all of my conversations and meetings with Steve, he has always been super polite, nice and professional. I did buy the Groupon deal and don't regret it. YES, the length of time to get your tapes/dvds back is lengthy, but I mean you waited THIS LONG to get them converted so you may as well wait longer. If you want to get a quicker return go elsewhere. From what I read, Groupon deals take longer. I'm not quite sure how long my tapes took, it could have been 4-6 months. Honestly I didn't pick them up till a year after because I was so busy. I called Steve a few times to ask him to hold them for me and that I would eventually pick them up. He was super nice each time and told me he always holds onto the tapes and never disposes of them. Our daughter gave us a groupon to have our wedding video converted to DVD, sent wedding video and some videos of kid when they were babies. That was July 5 th 2017 now is February 27th 2018 called several times and only received a text saying there was a six month backlog that was 6 months ago, they have had our tapes for 8 months now. Please get them copied ASAP. Because the magnetic material used on the VHS tapes eventually flakes off over time, the shelf life of the videotapes is between 10 and 15 years .
