The other review is a bit harsh,
The place has had a facelift since we last went,
I first went with colleagues from work, and did feel it had a bit of an identity crisis, it was mediteranean and french themed, in a mock tudor setting with boudoir decor and questionable carpets,
but strangely enough it was packed to the rafters,
the age group was middle aged,
the atmosphere was brilliant,
the other clientelle always remind me of those people like your parents when you first left school, who go on package tours and meet other similar people who they all get pleasantly drunk with and end up knowing the names of every waiter in the resort,
well it's that kind of feel, it's like a holiday restaurant, but on a serious note,
we love the food,
anywhere that does Cocquilles St Jacques as a starter is fine by me, it's the most expensive starter there, and it's bloody marvellous.
My wife goes for the Greek style dishes,
I go for whatever I am in the mood to have, the dishes are varied, but all have a fairly mediteranean theme.
The staff are brilliant, they even let us wait for a table and have a drink one night when we were early because it was raining.
And it is like a holiday restaurant, where most of the clientelle know the staff, and the reason, because they feel at home and they are obviously regulars, and as the place isn't that cheap, and they are generally naughty forties and above, they have the money and experience to choose where they spend and feel comfortable.. and that in itself should tell you if this place is any good.
I like it.. it's always friendly, always welcoming, and comfortable.. read more
