When I got to the counter, the staff member, said next please to a customer who had joined the queue behind me. I said excuse me, I believe I am next? She rudely replied telling me that their customers take priority over the Post office customers, as that is their bread and butter! So after she served the customer behind me, chatting along, as she clearly knew her, she then decided to serve me. Another customer had joined the queue and I said. "Did you not want to serve this customer before me, as they take priority to a Post office customers?" She said No! He came in the store much later and the woman she served before me, even though I was next in the queue, "had been longer in the Store" than me! I said oh sorry I thought it was a queue systems? She ignored me and started to count out my money, that I wanted to pay in, and barked at me the amount...YES?, which was incorrect and I said no, and corrected her. She seemed to make up the rules on which customer should be served and not follow the normal queuing system! Very rude with such a bad attitude!!! Won't be visiting my local store no longer, so they have lost over £20 a week of "bread and butter" from a local, regular customer!!!!

We bought the salted caramel, praline, and coffee truffles - 100g for £3.75 (without the gold box it's 3.50). Oh my they were tasty! Will definitely come back for Christmas presents!

She puts her holiday snaps on the shop wall for all to see. I tried their pestashio Turkish delight and what a delight it was. This shop is opposite Castle gate. Its a bit down the lane so hard to see from the road. If one didn't know it was there then it would be be missed. I think Mrs Syrett runs the shop with her husband. The customer service here is actually pretty good, with some members of staff more knowledgable than others though. The store is large enough to have a good range of items availble, although stock control is not always all that it might be, with items being out of stock for several days, or even weeks at a time, especially if they are on special offer or BOGOF. This seems to especially apply to wines that are on offer. The quality of the fruit and veg can leave a bit to be desired at times and if you shop in the evening, despite this being a 24 hour store, you can find lots of empty sections. There can also be a real shortage of bread late evening and the fish, butchers and deli counters do close during the evening. There is now a Direct counter in store, so you can order from there and also have items delivered to the store for collection. There is a minimum order value for free delivery to the store though. There is a petrol station here and also a Link cash point.
