I have a pretty rare medical condition, and information I found indicated that the medications prescribed could cause issues. And yes, I know there's a lot of false information online, which is Why I Called. I told him what happened to me and he basically called me a liar. I had a severe reaction to Zofran while the paramedics were working on me. My blood pressure, according to paramedics, was 80/40. I told him that and he said, verbatim, "No it wasn't." I told him the paramedics had to try 3 times to even get a blood pressure on me. He said, verbatim, "No they didn't." My husband was in the room when paramedics were there and saw/heard all of this. I told Smiley I was concerned because my condition is rare and some doctors aren't familiar with it. The doctors have told me this. Smiley said that wasn't true. He said that since the meds were prescribed in hospital there is no issue and I should just take them. So aside from giving me bad medical advice, he was rude and dismissive. I can't help but think that if I was a man I would have gotten better treatment. I don't know if Voyage records phone calls like some businesses do, but if they do I would highly recommend they listen to the call. That being said, everyone else at the Voyage clinic in Osseo are absolutely wonderful and I've gotten great care from them. Big shoutout to Mr. Horn and the rest of the staff.

I told her to hold on and that I would run into what I assumed was where she was living which was St Therese in Brooklyn Park. I told the two ladies at the front that one of their residents had falling and had a gash on her head. There was no sense of urgency and the fat one just sat there and the other one came to the door and just stood in the doorway. I went and got the lady that had fallen who by now was walking up the sidewalk. I don't even work there and I was more compassionate than the two ladies at the front desk who did absolutely nothing. I'm hoping this residents family is reading this. Get your family member out of there because they don't care. OAN: I did use to work at this place and it was horrible! I quit due to some things I witnessed and was not comfortable with.

Some of the care staff did not help with any cleaning, did minimal cooking (i.e. microwave) and mostly sat on their phones scrolling during their shifts. The office staff is not well coordinated, so if you are the point of contact they will constantly be calling. Overall, I cannot recommend Osseo Comfort Keepers as we feel like it has been overpriced care for what the staff actually does on a daily basis.

Along with the in-service training, you also get to train with the client as many times as you would like before you feel comfortable on your own. When you do eventually decide to care for your client alone, you have access to a 24 hour on-call nurse that you may defer to with any clinical questions or concerns. One thing I really enjoyed about this company is they allow you to pick your own clients. You can visit as many as you like and pick the ones you best mesh with. You typically have a circle of 5 clients and care for 3 of them regularly. You also have the option to work with individual clients or at group sites. Additionally, you get to pick your own schedule which is SUPER nice and something you will not get the privilege of doing at a majority of other jobs straight out of nursing school. The owners are very nice and personable people. The management team is also nice, and they truly seem to care about the clients and do their best to get to know them personally. The communication from management is not always the best - they can be unresponsive unless they need something from you. However, if you truly have an issue, they do try to get to the bottom of it. I was assured by the management team multiple times throughout my time there that they would always have my back, and I truly felt like they did. Any time I had any concerns with other employees or clients, they were very receptive and understanding. The work day is very slow, which I enjoyed being I was still in school. You get a lot of free time to read, do homework, or whatever you see fit. On the downside, depending on the clients you care for, you may do a majority of the same cares almost every day and lose touch of some of the skills you learned in nursing school. The only major disadvantage to working here, or really any home health agency, is having to stay after your shift if there are any staffing shortages or the next shift nurse calls in. The staffers really do their best to fill the gaps, but there are definitely times you will have to stay late. However, if you do have to stay late, you are typically offered a bonus of some sort which is nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my time working for this company. All the employees I worked with said working for this company was their best experience with a home health agency in Minneapolis. If you are looking for a first job to get more comfortable with your nursing skills before you transition into the hospital/clinic setting, a flexible part-time gig to pick up some extra cash, or even a chill job at the end of your career, this is the place for you!
