I have an online thrift store. I spend a lot of money at thrift stores for my inventory. While shopping today, Wednesday 8-30-2023, I wanted to look at some dollhouse furniture. At the same time, a volunteer wanted to get into that very small corner. No excuse me, just a loud sigh & dirty look!! The ladies checking out were so busy gossiping about another volunteer that they could not say hello or thank you or even acknowledge I was there!! Great display of your Christian values!! I've removed this story from my list when I'm in the Appleton area.

TERRIBLE Customer service. Waited for over 10 minutes in line when only one customer was in front…read moreof me and cashier simply left them when payment method wasn't working only to return to thes say they could get a manager to help but didn't call for one leaving the customer to struggle to find another payment method. Then I go to checkout only to be told the pot and lid set seemed priced too low and they were going to have to charge me 4 times the marked price. I explained it had damage which is why it was clearly marked at a discount but the cashier was not interested in doing a price check and I stated the other pans in the set were the same price and was given no response I then said I didn't want it and proceeded to pay for my other item only to be almost charged for the pot which was by then no where by my pile. As soon as I paid the cashier left and turned their bag without offering a bag or receipt. This caused me to have to call out to then for a bag and receipt. They turned around clearly annoyed and on their phone and went to the other register for a bag. I was made to feel that I was doing something wrong for simply trying to shop and questioning why I would be charged more than an item is priced. I have had unpleasant experiences the last few times I've tried to stop and unfortunately do not plan on shopping here anytime in the near future.

I happen to visit right before Valentine's Day and was impressed with the obvious care that was often shown by the various vendors in arranging their displays with a spring theme. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're shopping for inspiration for someone who prefers unique not mass market.

On top of a small hill, you'll find the store and orchard. Stop in the store and get directed to the right orchard and bags for your pickin's. They are very nice and tell you how to pick the ripe and ready. I went for the sweet Honey Golds.. "make sure there's a pink blush on one of the apple's cheeks" I didn't know apples had cheeks! They were easy to spot and pick. AND TREE RIPE SWEET. They also have Macintosh, Cortlands, with twenty other varieties. I didn't have time but you can sometimes also pick fresh produce products ... strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, sweet corn, squash and pumpkins. Pick your own apples & vegetables or buy at the retail store. When you've picked your lot you go back into the store to weigh and pay. Stock up on their locally raised Angus beef or buffalo meat AND OF COURSE spicy Sheboygan style brats too. (beats the heck outta Bavarian or Stadium style) YOU BETCHA!

The floors available are laid down in different parts of the store, so you can see them their as well as in large samples. They also have small batches of wood leftover from other projects that you can buy at a discount, so you can make, for example, an accent wall. They also had furniture made from reclaimed wood, including beds, tables, etc. Really cool benches from wood reclaimed from a UW Whitewater gym floor. Also had little gift items, lots of jewelry, etc, that didn't seem out of place. Owner was very knowledgeable on the wood products.

Where do I begin? I…read morestumbled on Stein as I was doing some "Sunday driving" on a Fridayn nun I was on the wrong side of the road to get into the driveway. Had to turn around. Almost kept driving. So glad I turned around. There are so many things to look at. Lamps, wall decor, candles. I almost bought a candle and I have too many as it is. They have a whole aisle of clearance. There is a section with reading glasses, nice purses and other things. They have many house plants, real trees, outdoor plants, lawn tools, a pet aisle, Whew! I am getting tired! I think I was in the store 1 - 1/2 hours just looking at everything. I walked out with a wire butterfly sculpture for the wall, ladybugs sculpture for yard on clearance and frog sculpture on clearance and I do not even have a garden. You can always find an employee to help you. They are so helpful and friendly. Definitely will stop when I am in town again.
