This is a super cute venue space! I've seen online it's really popular for weddings, and I can see it working well with a lot of aesthetics with the high ceilings and vintage charm. It has an extra parking lot for guests (yay!), and a great bar area. My friend and I came here for their Galentine's Bingo Event and not only was it super fun and organized, but now I'm thinking about what type of event I'd like to have here! I was here for my friends Bridal Shower yesterday and was really impressed with this venue. It's my first time here, so don't know what it looked like before, but I can say it has preserved it's vintage charm. I love the high ceilings and large windows that allow natural light to come in and especially love the big chandelier in the center of the main room. I can see so many possibilities for the use of this building, but I enjoyed how intimate the space felt today at the Bridal Shower. read more

I have now been to a few events at this venue now, which I knew as a church growing up and then a bank. First of all, I am so glad that this building was kept and put to use. I love the interior although I do miss the warm browns and wood the building used to have before the renovations. They did maintain and restored a lot of the building's bones, which is appreciated. It's a lovely, bright location with a lot of personality. The party setup is always very nicely put together where people are able can sit and mingle more easily. There is a place for coats in the foyer and ample space for welcome or guest book tables, After the foyer, it opens into large, open space where you can set up tables and have a dance floor. I have seen the inviting balcony used for a bridal party and a performance. It's easily viewed from every angle of the room. There are two spots downstairs that I have been used for a variety of purposes but for us it's been photo booths and 360 photos. The barn doors are a nice touch and can be closed when not in use. If you're looking for a nice midsize venue with a more intimate feel, I highly recommend. read more

We hosted our work holiday party here! They were easy to work with and so accommodating. It is a beautiful event space that we felt was affordable for all of your party needs! They have indoor and outdoor spaces available as well as an upstairs. There is a private room in case guests need to get ready or touch up their makeup upstairs. Man, what a cool building. This was obviously a church in a former life. The large space is perfect for events. The large dimension roof lumber with iron hardware, stained glass, and wall mouldings are definitely interesting. I visited for Tapas and Tunes, a pop-up restaurant. A small band played during the meal and the acoustics were pretty decent. The venue does have a small parking lot buts it's about a block away. read more

I love it when older buildings can find new purpose. I remember this as a bank for the longest time, and now it is a very delightful venue. Got to see a friend of mine perform music here the other day, and it was quite a good show. The layout is big enough for moderate crowds, but still has a rather cozy, intimate feeling. There is the main floor great room, and a very pleasant little upstairs balcony, as well as additional spaces for work rooms or prep spaces. I have been hearing of many other events being hosted here, and I can definitely see why it is such a talked about space. Definitely hope to attend other get togethers here, sometime. read more

The Baby Rave fundraiser at the Virgil was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, the energy was infectious. The venue was buzzing with excitement, filled with costumed folks of all ages, who were clearly having a blast. The variety of activities for both kids and adults made it a hit for the whole family. For the littles, there was a bounce house, a slide into a ball pit (a definite favorite), crafts to get creative, and even a stilt walker adding to the whimsy. The DJ kept the vibes lively with tracks that appealed to all ages, and the picture booth provided giggles and lasting memories. The adults weren't left out either. The bar offered a great selection of beer, cider, and wine and we definitely indulged in the tasty offerings from the food truck. The silent raffle added an extra element of excitement. The venue itself is stunning, with ample space and beautiful natural lighting that added to the ambiance. I'll definitely be keeping it in mind for future events. Reno is very fortunate to have such inclusive and enjoyable experiences that cater to both parents and children. It doesn't really feel like the same place anymore. They used to host great community events, but now it seems focused mainly on out-of-town weddings and profit. It's a shame, this beautiful space and its incredible Reno location have so much potential to create meaningful community impact AND host beautiful, profitable weddings. Both can exist and should exist in places especially like these. What a missed opportunity. I think it's like $400 per hr to rent, which like okay get your bag girl I guess, I wish I could charge that I'm obviously jealous, but no community outreach? Idk, red flag. read more

Went to a wedding here. Pretty decor inside. Nice bathroom. Not enough shade cover outside where cocktail hour is while room is being flipped and bar wasn't fully set up outside before it started. Fresh mozzarella hors d'oeuvre was left out in the sun during cocktail hour so we didn't touch those. Food was okay. The ugly storage container box in the parking lot needs to go. read more

Had our Christmas party here. What a cool little venue. They have a bar, so we had an open bar. They had some alcoves where they were able to put appetizers which was kind of cool. You can tell some people have got married in there, I really like the old-school feel of it. Our food, which was probably catered, was good. They had the ability to serve it to you hot. So if you're planning a big event, this place rocks it. The only downside is the parking is not great, so people will have to park out in the neighborhood which is easy enough. This place is despicable. Not only did they double book my nieces wedding day, they had the audacity to ask her to move it up 6 hours x. 6 hours?? She caved in and agreed to moving it a few hours up but the place had the nerve to mention to us they didn't want to bother the other party. They did a lot of switching of other venues because of this. Now we are two weeks out from the wedding and a tragic event unfolded and my niece had to cancel the wedding. She calls and explains the TERRIBLE situation and they tell her too bad the deposit is non refundable cause they can't book the place. Uhm, hello.. you literally are double booked cause of your carelessness and now you throw the "we're a small business, too bad". The attitude of the person on the phone towards my niece and her situation was unconscionable. As a small business.. you rely on word of mouth. My word is.. you are horrible people and I truly hope you do not survive. They are prettier places I. Reno with better people to help. read more

We had our gorgeous wedding at the Virgil yesterday and I can't tell you how perfect it was. For $2500ish we had full access to the beautiful renovated church setting for 3 hours + rehearsal. The rehearsal was perfect. On the day of, chairs were set up exactly as planned, the bride and grooms rooms were set up with chocolates, thank you cards and a bucket of whatever drinks we wanted in there. We opted to take advantage of their beautiful bar and hired a bartender for an extremely reasonable add on. People were amazed that they could have a drink before the ceremony. Callie and Sonia are both extremely proficient in ensuring events run smoothly, they were both so kind and gracious throughout the entire process. Would absolutely recommend. read more

I was fortunate enough to be able to book and event at this beautifully updated facility. From the moment you walk in you can feel the history of this amazing hundred year old retired church/bank. The ladies responsible for this transformation, Jessie and Rachel have created an event center where old comes together with modern. The original chandelier is breathtaking as are the stained glass windows and the hardwood floors are stunning. The volt in the back has been made into useful space as well...down stairs is rentable office space as well. Truly from the time you walk through the revolving door it becomes majestic. I through my husband his surprise retirement party there and it was flawless. I used everyone they suggested from the bartender to the caterer...oh yes and the photo booth with an arch of balloons. They were innovated, communicable,and very professional. Such a breath of fresh air to have such lovely young women be so good at what they do, they obviously care about each event that is lucky enough to be thrown there.
