Yesterday my mother-in-law and I visited your VitaminWorld location in Evergreen Park. My mother-in-law needed to purchase vitamins to help with her fibromyalgia pain. We were greeted by one of the two employees and was told to give them a minute and someone will be there to assist us. That's fine as we began browsing. We found our vitamins unassisted and proceeded to check-out. The employee Robert offered us a VitaminWorld membership card that I filled out. While I was filling out the card my mother-in-law saw candles and was complementing that my wife would enjoy the candles. I stepped toward the candles while he was ringing up the items (my mother-in-law was paying for her purchase) and I was opening the candle tops and smelling the fragrances of each of the candles on display saying of how well they smell. Upon opening the third candle, the employee Robert then said "You cannot keep sticking your nose in the candles". I proceeded to close the candle and told my mother-in-law "That's okay, We can check out and leave". From there, there was an awkward silence and I proceeded to ask him. "Robert, how did me smelling the candles damage the product?" His reply was "You opened three candles" My response was " How can you purchase candles without smelling them first?" He never replied to my question and stayed quiet. He completed the transaction He came around the counter and told my mother-in-law "Thank you". My only problem with this situation is that he totally ignored me after that ordeal. I suggested VitaminWorld since it was close to our grocery store. After this first experience and impression, I was highly disappointed with the service. I am not a confrontational, but in this situation I had to get answers.
