I just came back from a show and had an absolute blast! I went into it unsure of what to expect and I left being genuinely impressed by how entertaining the whole show was. There were some excellent illusions, but what really made the show was the crowd work and enthusiasm of Brandon and Hannah Wagster. And again, the illusions were excellent. There were several moments my husband and I looked at each other and asked each other how it was even possible to do what they did. They also did a fantastic job of keeping the show entertaining for children and adults alike. Anyway, this is one of those spots that can easily get overlooked among all of the historical sites and things to do in Colonial Williamsburg, but it absolutely deserves a spot on the itinerary. It was fun, surprisingly impressive, and really something different to do on a Saturday evening. I highly recommend checking it out if you're visiting Williamsburg or even if you're a local looking for something different. We had a great time and absolutely look forward to going again next year when we are in VA. read more

Great family fun! The whole family went to see Magicians Brandon and Hannah's performance at Wagster's Magic Theatre on a Friday in Williamsburg. The performance far exceeded all expectations and was comparable to anything you might see in Vegas. In fact, Brandon was recently ranked in the top three during a magical competition in Vegas. Brandon and Hannah's magic was first rate and fun for everyone. The venue was intimate and had a very up close and personal feel, which added to the ambiance of the evening. On a personal level, Brandon and Hannah were funny, engaging with the audience, and very sincere and genuine people. They clearly love doing magic and performing on stage. The venue offered fresh snacks, as well as an assortment of magic sets, shirts, and souvenirs. Following the 90-minute show, Brandon and Hannah even came out for photos and a meet/greet the audience. The family all got front row seats, which were quite reasonably priced for the level of entertainment and fun. These two are seasoned professionals and it shows from beginning to end throughout this captivating show full of laughts and awe. They say no children under 3 and recommend 5 and over. I think this is very wise: a child has to have a sense of "reality" to appreciate the "magical" -- and these two bring the magic. Pay full attention - some of the tricks that seem a bit pointless (how many jealy beans) wind up connecting as part of a thread that weaves through the entire show. We thoroughly enjoyed the 90+ minutes of laughter and amazement. And hours more talking about the act afterward. Highly recommended! read more

Last night my husband, his family and I attended the Christmas magic show. We had a great time and it definitely is something different from the other entertainment options in the area. Few thoughts- 1.) arrive early if you plan to get candy or popcorn. It's a small venue with limited staff so give yourself some time to not be rushed! 2.) buy your ticket well in advanced! Times and days sell out- it's a small theatre (with 75 seats). Also think ticket is well worth the price! 3.) consider front row! We sat front row and enjoyed the extra leg room and a close up to the show. Although as I mentioned, it's a small theatre so I think it feels intimate wherever you sit. 4.) not just for kids! I think some of it even went over kids heads so don't rule this out. An idea for the theater to consider is an adults only show! Also love they sold ornaments- I am an ornament memory person so loved to have to take away. read more

We were able to get same-day tickets for the magic show, and the process was quick and easy. Ticket prices felt very reasonable for the quality of the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every interaction was positive--from check-in, to the snack bar, to the performers engaging with the audience. Brandon and Hannah were especially great on stage, and they even took time afterward to show the kids magic tricks in the shop, which was a big hit. The theater is small and intimate (around 125 seats), which works in its favor. Even though the show wasn't completely sold out, the audience energy was high and made the experience feel lively and interactive. We were seated toward the back, but audience participation happened throughout the room, and several people from our group were still selected. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 75, and everyone stayed engaged the entire time. The show was family-friendly, upbeat, and fast-paced, with a nice mix of impressive magic and personal stories about the performers and how magic has shaped their lives. Overall, it was a fun, memorable experience for all ages. As locals, we're very glad we went--and we'll definitely be back! read more

Our family of five adults attended the Wagster's magic show recently, and it was fabulous! I had heard rave reviews from my friends, but I was still skeptical. I'm so happy to say they were right, and now I'm raving about the show. Brandon performed solo, as Hannah was still on maternity leave. His illusions were captivating and quite remarkable. Their current theater seats about 50 people. Seating is assigned based on when you bought your tickets. We bought early and were seated in the second row. My husband even was able to participate in one of the illusions--from his seat. Visiting details: They have free parking. The show runs about 75 minutes with no intermission. The Wagster's are a unique and welcome addition to activities in Williamsburg. read more

This was a pathetic presentation by sloppy magician using outdated routines. Wasted $ and time seeing these acts. The only credit goes to the assistant who was an excellent contortionist to fit into the not-so-hidden panels on the worn out equipment. Even the hand-off of material between the stage and the back stage team was sloppy and quite visible. If you enjoy laughing at a poor show, go see this, but if you are looking for any quality then go elsewhere. read more

I went to the Wagster's magic show with my daughter, husband, and mother-in-law. We all had a really wonderful time. The theatre is spacious and gorgeous (as are the chairs. I didn't feel cramped at all). The magic was fun and sometimes startling (the last escape act was amazing). I thought both of the Wagsters interacted naturally with audience members off the cuff, demonstrating not just great improvisation skills but a genuine love for people and their audiences. What I loved most, though, is how vulnerable the Wagsters are and how much of their lives they shared with audiences, from their childhood ambitions to bringing their darling daughter onstage. They include a particularly poignant and beautiful act centered on pregnancy loss, a topic we don't talk enough about, and it's evidence how much of theirselves and their lives they incorporated into the show. Of course, they took the time to meet with the audience after the show, despite having an infant daughter--again, evidence of their commitment and love for what they do and their patrons. I was really rooting for them by the end of it all. I think they have real guts going for their artistic dreams like this (full disclosure: I am an English literature professor at William & Mary, so I get it)--and I want them to succeed. I will definitely return for any new shows or material and bring visitors in the future. read more

So, a magic theater... Usually not my thing but, I was so very wrong! My neighbors took me and my wife to the Wagster's on a weeknight to their new theater in Williamsburg, Va and I personally didn't have high hopes for an entertaining evening. However, once the show started, both the personalities and showmanship Brandon and Hannah displayed blew me away. Brandon shared his personal story to the audience of falling in love with magic as a kid, which echoed one of my own experiences as a child. When I was thirteen, I watched Doug Henning on the Muppet Show perform magic tricks which blew my young mind. I told by mother I wanted to be a magician, and she appeased me by buying me a magic kit the next week. This taught me two valuable lessons: 1. My coordination and sleight of hand were terrible. 2. Like most anything worth doing, you had to put in a ton of work to get better. It goes without saying, I gave it up very quickly. However, the show the Wagster's have produced demonstrates they have put their heart and soul into this production. The show was funny, emotional, professional and most of all, entertaining. It was fully worth the price of admission and I'm so glad to see this artform thrive in our Williamsburg Community. I wish Brandon, Hannah, Lilly and all those who work behind the scenes all the best in this venture and may fortune smile on you. read more

Terrific family entertainment. THE WAGSTERS were not only professional magicians, but also beautiful performers. The theater is magnificent... not. bad seat anywhere! We were in the last row and didn't miss anything... from illusions to card tricks and the Wagsters facial expressions. What amazing humans and performers! We saw the Wagsters Magic Theatre last night and it was unbelievable all around. You instantly fall into their magical world, it's almost as if you're becoming friends. The suspense of the tricks and execution of them take you out of your world for the whole show. And side note: Hannah looks so much like Kirsten Dunst I could have sworn it was her. I don't understand how I am just hearing about these magicians now, they are phenomenal and I actually preferred their show better than our prior favorite, Justin Wilman. The theatre itself is intimate and every seat is a good one. It doesn't feel 'peoply' and the audience size is great! The staff was so helpful and nice as well!! So please don't question whether you should go to their show, it's a MUST and the highlight of our vacation. Additionally, my daughter left her cross body bag at the show. We called and left a message and kept missing their call as I was trying to put my kids to sleep that night. I woke up to a text from them so graciously offering to drop off her bag because the theatre was closed. These are first class people inside and out. They deserve all the blessings! read more

I couldn't wait to tell everyone how great this show is! My went for my 37th birthday, 7 of us all together. We bought our tickets early and I would advise you to do the same, they sell out quickly. It's in an odd place but don't pay attention to that. Me and my husband LOVE magic and slight off hand and this show was GREAT! They tell you in the begging of the show to make a lot of noise and the show will be even better. It's so true. The magicians were having a hard time pulling the audience in, old grumpy people not clapping or making noise. So me and my family purposefully started going "Wow!!! Ahhh.. Where did it go?!?" and clapping loud and cheering at everything and the show got even better. The smiles and the flourishes got bigger. I WANT her costume rack, she kept changing into the prettiest dresses and sparkly outfits for each trick. They did all the good Vegas tricks (cards, disappearing boxes, swords in stuff) and totally included the audience in the act. He stabbed a pencil through my $20 and give it back to me without a scratch. He also included the two little boys with birthdays on the same day. Take the kids, take the family or just go by yourself to see our local "mini" Vegas magic show. You could see the both or the magicians were in love at the end of that show, they were husband and wife. This being their dream, having their own stage and show and they did it good. That last kiss on stage was a "we did it baby!" And didn't look pre-planed at all. We will be back. Already decided to come back for our anniversary this year. See you in a couple months read more

This show is by far the best, the most entertaining, the most thrilling show to ever arrive in Williamsburg, Virginia. My wife and I are long-time Williamsburg residents and have long since tired of Jefferson and Washington impersonators; the Wagsters offer something different and, frankly, spectacularly different to the stogy old 'Burg. Their show is replete with everything one could wish for in a magic show. Brandon Wagster is a fine performer and someone who is thoroughly enamored of what he does. His wife Hannah is equally great as his assistant. I need not say that that his illusions are jaw-dropping. All in all this is the finest show of its kind that I can recall.
