This venue definitely fits in with the recent rustic wedding trend. It's barn-style on the outside, and the indoor area includes lots of exposed wood with some finer touches (nice chandelier-style lighting, a fireplace, a bar, ect.). It also has a gorgeous outdoor area if you wanted to host an outdoor ceremony that features a patio and patio seating, so your reception can spill outside if the weather permits. I arrived just as they opened so I was the first one there. Street parking was not an issue, but it may be later in the day. I don't know. They have a smaller luncheon menu and I chose lasagna and a side salad. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was a really light Italian that was very complementary to the greens and not overwhelming at all. When the lasagna came, I initially thought wow that's a lot of cheese, but it really was not an overwhelming amount. And the taste of the sauce as well as the meat in the lasagna was fantastic. I don't know what I expected, quite possibly the same generic type of lasagna you get at most places, but this was far from it. Very different than many other lasagnas and tasted as if a family member made it with an old secret family recipe. The restaurant is very clean and classy. My server was very polite and attentive, but not overwhelming. I didn't get any bread, which was a bit of a disappointment, not because I need bread in the least, but I do enjoy trying different breads at different restaurants. The motif is based on a cabin-ish style and that's something I always enjoy. The lobby is pretty big and open and the hotel appears to be geared towards large groups such as a wedding, or business get-together as there are several meeting rooms. The hotel does have an indoor/outdoor pool and several, spacious sitting areas. There is a bar located on sight and they serve a free breakfast in the morning. We didn't eat here, but I saw they had eggs, potatoes, and sausage. They also had the usual items like bagels. The room is very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The room had a microwave and a decent sized fridge. It also has a Keurig which I know may be considered pretty standard nowadays. I forgot soap, but was glad to see that there was a bottle of Bath and Body Works body wash that had a eucalyptus scent. When I was checking in, I inadvertently prevented check-in from being as smooth as possible, but the young lady working the desk (Sydney) was very friendly, patient, and understanding. Lastly, I felt as though the room was very nicely priced as I've stayed in far worse for more money. The only issue we had is that the sheet on the bed made no attempt at staying on, but I didn't even notice until my Wife pointed it out I don't know how often I'll get the chance to stay at this chain since there aren't any close to me, but I'd stay here again without hesitation.

The pool was down for a little bit while we were there (maintenance so it wasn't their fault). Our room was clean at first glance but had some dirty sports. Weird stain on the wall inside the door, some short little hairs in the shower. Very convenient and worth a stay if in town for business or pleasure. Hotel staff was very kind.

We got some amazing photos. The time I came for the museum I was chaperoning a small group of summer camp kids. Our tour guide was amazing. He let the kids ring the bell, go into some of the train cars, and walked us around the grounds. The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves. Both time the grounds were insanely muddy. But it's outside on actual old rail tracks. I don't quite remember the bathroom situation but I know they gotta have them. I don't think they have any food or gift shop. I know they do events every once in awhile. I see them advertised. Nice little Sioux City treasure tucked away from the city.
