I especially enjoyed the illusion of privacy offered by the dividing screens at the traditional seating area. I am apt to take off my shoes in public regardless of the occassion, but the sunken tables allowed me to unleash the dawgs in a more socially acceptable manner. Note that Tea Zone no longer offers as wide a variety of savory foods. In fact, they only serve ramen. But their bakery section is still robust! I'm not honestly the biggest fan of most fruit cakes but I had an uncontrollable craving. As far as store-bought fruit cakes go, it was not bad. As always, I wish the cake part had more depth of flavor than just ~vanilla~, but as a whole, the cake was quite soft and generously topped with an assortment of fruit! The servers were very sweet (haha) and offered to make my iced matcha latte unsweetened but I was like, no, I need the high. Because I sure as hell am not high on life. Not a direct quote

It was refreshing with a variety of fruits, sweet red bean, little rice cakes, and vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. They also have a plethora of freshly baked Korean style cakes and breads ranging from soboru (my personal favorite ) to red bean buns and fried donuts. Would love to see if they can do a red bean filled soboru bun! I was surprised by how good the fried donut was - super soft and filled with sweet red bean inside. If you're a chestnut lover, I also recommend the chestnut soboru bun. It had chunks of chestnuts inside and was not too sweet. If you're a savory person or need a meal, they also serve ramen There are plenty of seats inside and the interior has such a classic, homey feel to it. They even have traditional Korean style seating! The workers are also very sweet and friendly. Definitely a place I would go back whenever the sweets craving hits!

Must have been from the waffles & although that's not something I'd normally consider ordering, one whiff & I was craving them sooo bad! Not to mention that the prospect of exciting versions of them (like Pandan or Ube) made me want to ruin my dinner plans. So after I gained some self control, I ordered what seems like the healthiest & lighest drink up there. It just happened to also have all the flavors of things I adore. The Bambu Special is coconut meat, pandan jelly, brown longan, basil seed (think similar to a chia seed) & coconut water. All this with a crushed ice ball on top. Wow!! So subtle yet flavorful at the same time. I can't wait to make my way down their entire menu . The service: Another wow! The woman behind the counter was so nice & helpful. I mentioned how I like that it's a Vietnamese drink shop & she mentioned that her sister (I think an owner) & herself were both from Cambodia...one of my favorite places I've traveled to. It all made sense as the kindest people in all my travels were in Cambodia. She gave me future recommendations & I promised to return! The atmosphere: Clean, bright, variety of styled of seats, couches, high tops, & greenery walls that have cute neon signs. Wish this place was closer because it definitely had a coffee shop vibe. As a boba addict, I think I might have to pick this place over all the amazing boba options in that area & that's saying a lot! Please go try these goodies for yourself & support our local business owners!

I love that there are two ways to order: outside at the window if you want fresh air or inside if you want to escape the elements,. It's a very choose your own custard adventure. Service though can be inconsistent. Visit 1: Three workers, zero greeting s. I actually pinched myself to make sure I was alive. Visit 2: Three different workers, all Energizer Bunnies. Visit 3: One worker, friendly and quick. One small suggestion: since they already wear Rita's shirts, a consistent dress code for bottoms would make the team look more professional. In other words, no pajama bottoms thank you. As for the treats, the twist custard, which is half vanilla and half chocolate is a dream. The mango Italian ice was tasty but a tad too sweet for me, and the strawberry milkshake was delicious with real strawberries. With great parking, great custard, and service that's occasionally perfect. I recommend Rita's - pajama pants and all.

I managed to grab the few items that we would normally purchase from other Japanese bakeries. We tried the melon pain, choco melon pain, matcha melon pain, custard bun, Nutella kitty bun, and walnut cookies. The melon pain were discounted at 20% because they were ugly according to Belle's. All of the bread held up for our road trip back to Chicago and remained flavorful and soft. The walnut cookies has a very good bite and it is not overly sweet. They can be paired with a nice Jasmine tea for a delicate afternoon snack. Belle's had a full case of dessert a vast variety of cake. I was really tempted to try a piece but I held back because it was an odd hour and we were supposed to have dinner soon. I would definitely like to revisit at a different date and time and try several pieces of dessert.

Most recently, I came to pick up a cake for Father's Day and also stopped in to try a couple drinks and a matcha roll. The interior is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very friendly. Come early if you want a bigger selection of bread and pastries! I came around 6 pm on a Saturday and most breads were sold out but there were still plenty of cakes left. I ordered the iced matcha latte and iced black sesame lattes (both with oat milk). After mixing, the matcha latte was a light shade of green and pretty much just tasted like milk which was kind of disappointing. The black sesame latte on the other hand, had a nice strong black sesame flavor. The mango and strawberry smoothies were super refreshing especially since it was hot outside. I actually saved the matcha roll for 2 days later and it still tasted really fresh and yummy.

We got a chicken burrito, 3 Birria tacos & the street corn in a cup to go. $40 total and absolutely not worth even a third of that price. Let's start with the Tacos-- literally the smallest Birria tacos I've ever seen in my life. They looked quite sad. Flavor wise it was not the worst, which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars. The Burrito and Street Corn were what really infuriated me. The burrito was also really incredibly small, and very bland. Like seriously, a burrito from Chipotle is cheaper, bigger, and way more flavorful. Also did not give us any salsa or anything to go with it. The street corn was not good either. The cup was 75% water...the seasoning was really just thrown on the top and didn't mix well at all. You might consider this good food if you have no taste and have never had actual authentic Mexican food. This is "Mexican" food for old white people. Unseasoned, sad, and too expensive considering the quality.
