My wife is disabled and travels with a small service dog who is always vested, carries an ID card, and is registered and certified; this was noted in our online booking. This was our first stay at any B&B of *any* size; in the past two years we've spent 36 nights at hotels both independent and branded. The room we stayed in, the Moose Room, is very well-equipped with exquisite attention to detail. The bed was pleasure to sleep in and had the most comfortable sheets we've ever encountered in a hotel room. A two-person Kohler whirlpool tub is in the main room. We were astounded at how quickly the tub filled and we were never short of hot water. The shower has a very inexpensive nozzle on it; a removable or rainfall style showerhead would be more befitting the quality of the rest of the room. I can say that Tausheck's is an extremely high quality facility with extreme attention to detail and very comfortable rooms. The Tausheck's should be commended for the quality of the B&B. Unfortunately, I can't say we will be back since we now know that this isn't the type of place for us given our unique situation, which probably doesn't apply to you. If you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway in the "greater Sheboygan" area, I'd highly recommend Tausheck's and think you'd have a great time there. --postscript-- My previous review (which I edited and have subsequently raised the rating to three stars) dealt with some exchanges with the innkeepers specific to accommodating my spouse's service dog. Given that this was the first time that the innkeepers dealt with a service dog in their 12 years of existence, they did accommodate us the best they could with the knowledge they had at the time. We learned after our stay that inns of this size are exempt from the Americans with Disabilities Act as there are 5 or fewer rooms - see 28 C.F.R. § 36.104. This wasn't known to us, or the innkeepers at the time of our stay, so it's unfair for me to dive into the specifics. That being said, I hope that the B&B's web site is revised to reflect this so that any other guests having a similar situation to ours are aware in advance and can make the appropriate decision.

It's 2 am and I just had to get up and write this review because I have been rolling around and feeling like I am trying to sleep in a damn canoe They are cheap beds and because of this my son and I could not sleep. It's those kind of beds where you feel the edge of the bed dip as if it feels uneven, you know where you feel it's not level and tipping down at an angle on its sides. It's one of those beds where it's not only stiff and shaky but because it's so stiff, your head tilts up on your pillow because thee is no give in the bed. It's like putting a pillow on Fred Flintstone's bed only it shakes and feels uneven. He had an 8am soccer game for a big tournament and we could not sleep on these cheap ass beds. Not cool when you come to a hotel and the most important function when you are away from home is sleep and you can't get any. This is piss poor execution and taking shortcuts on their furniture. I visited in December and it's not as noticeable or something that's a standout feature as it would be in the summer time. However upon arrival it looks very historic and old regal glamour. Parking is definitely old school with two small lots right in front only ... in the summertime it's probably not a big deal but wintertime it sucked. We had to park in another lot on the backside of the resort instead of in the front two lots right outside the lobby -- which made it a bit more difficult if you had heels on and had to walk a ways from the car to the hotel with the snowy icy ground. The rooms were veeeeery old school and in need of renovation. The wood didn't match -- from the dresser to the doors to the bathroom vanity. Flooring was really old and carpet was stained in many areas. Water damage on ceiling and the bed was quite stiff, not comfortable at all. Our room was very drafty which made it difficult to lounge without have a good pair of warm sweats or jacket. I wouldn't have been pleased if I was staying here for a long period, luckily my stay was just one evening. The bartender was very very nice -- she was personable and tried her best to change the channels on one of the TVs to what I wanted to watch. She was quick with the drinks and made them to my liking. The front desk staff were also very pleasant and friendly. They were quick with the check in and check out process as well. Overall I was underwhelmed with this resort. Perhaps winter is just not the time to visit as there is not much to do in the tiny town and the Christmas market that happens across the street honestly wasn't anything superb (we have several Christmas markets in the Twin Cities which are MUCH more superb to this one). Perhaps the summertime is the best time to visit to enjoy the true beauty of the surroundings which may make up for the old school regal of this resort.

This is a great place to celebrate any special occasion, they make you feel so special from the moment you walk in. The front desk went over all the amazing amenities the hotel has to offer, and we were even able to check in early, which was so nice. It gave us time to get refreshed before heading out to explore. The hotel is large and feel like you could easily get lost in the halls. The library area has little bits of history throughout, and the hotel even hosts a historic hotel tour if you're interested in learning more. Each room has its own little touch of history too, which I loved. We stayed in a Superior King Room and it had a great amount of space and a plush king bed, a beautiful bathroom with a double vanity, whirlpool tub, and a large shower, plus a wet bar area, plush robes... the list goes on. They even had a large coffee table book with Kohler Company history and vintage Kohler advertisements, which was such a fun decor touch. The turndown service was the cherry on top! They left me a thoughtful birthday note and go our room ready for a us, a nice luxury touch! The shuttle service is so nice to explore just about anything and there are so many amenities we didn't take advantage of like the morning yoga or gym. I cant stop recommending a stay here if you can make it work, its a luxury experience. Throughout our stay we explored the hotel and the different courtyards, restaurants, and the Kohler area and we cant wait to be back!
