While I can't officially review The Wedding House as a place to have a wedding since I didn't get married there, I can say that it's a wonderful place to visit as a guest of the B & B! My wife and I just returned home from two nights here and it was wonderful! The room and bathroom are beautifully decorated and VERY comfortable. We would have loved to have stayed longer! The grounds are pleasant and I wish we had had more time to just relax and enjoy the property - very peaceful and scenic with cherry trees, vineyards, and other fruit trees all around you! And Donna was a most gracious and friendly host. Nearly instantly, we felt comfortable and at home in her home. I truly hope that we return to Palisade sooner than later, and if we do we'll certainly be staying here again! read more

From the time I paid the owner of our outdoor wedding venue I had nothing but added stress. She would call me to complain about her other clients, which I found to be terribly unprofessional. She also called to tell me that I should tell my friends not to bring their children, well after I had already sent and received my RSVP's. She paced around the venue throughout the wedding, and complained to my guests and myself the entire time about kids running on her lawn, the DJ, etc. She even rented a portable potty rather than holding to the contractual agreement that my guests could use the downstairs floor of her house. After the wedding she insisted on additional monetary compensation for the DJ playing music too loud (he didn't we couldn't hear the music under the tents only 50 feet away), for the children who she claimed were unsupervised running in her grass, for my bridesmaid "verbally harassing" her when she asked why the guests were expected to use a portable potty where they were unable to wash their hands before dinner, for my bartender still pouring drinks at 9:07 when the cut off time was 9:00... the list of petty complaints went on. The venue was also not in good shape when we arrived. My caterer fell in a hole made by the venue owner's lawn mower, throwing the tablecloths to the ground so she could catch herself. There were piles of leaves and weeds, which my bridesmaids and I ended up dealing with the day of the wedding. She was supposed to provide champagne flutes, a cake cutting and serving set, and valet service. None of these were supplied. She also went after our $1,000 damage deposit (threatening repeatedly to take us to court) on top of the already paid venue fee. We gave in and paid (only to avoid court), even though she signed the contract stating, "no damages occurred." I would NOT recommend this venue! The venue was understaffed. There was no assistance in setting up. The room for the bride was very hot and full of bugs and had not been Cleaned or freshened up prior To the event. There Is no bathroom for guests. They had a porta potty, but it was not fresh. There is insufficient electricity to run both the lights in the orchard and a sound system in the dance hall. Everything could use a good scrubbing. There were not enough chairs. We had to rent our own.This could be a cool venue but it needs more work and a more professional owner. read more

As a stressed out bride having a destination wedding in Palisade and then throw COVID on top, I cannot imagine having had anyone but Donna be our point person at the Wedding House. She was amazing from the first meeting, to my questions about lighting/electric, square footage ect she was totally communicative and a voice of reason having so much experience. The venue is absolutely beautiful and a perfect spot if you want an intimate event without the bustle of other high traffic areas in town. We ended up having to postpone our event which she was totally gracious and understanding about and booked us a new working day right away. If you want colorado wine country vibes, a stress free day and a beautiful peaceful space for your wedding this is the place! read more
