    Walk in the room.

First time staying at a La Quinta and it will be my last. Holy cow! First, the room smelled like fish. No, I am not kidding. The refrigerator had food splatter on the shelves and the microwave had burn marks and had an odor emitting from the inside. There were holes in the walls and the cable for the TV was totally rigged up weird. Would have left and sought out another hotel but we got in late so by that time of day I just had to deal with it. We only stayed one night and had enough. I will not be going to another La Quinta Hotel again and don't recommend

I have been on the road for weeks and stayed at countless hotels and so far I can say without a doubt that my stay here was the best. First off, I am traveling with my dog. It can be difficult and very expensive to find places that will accommodate us. I find the negative reviews here hear about the dogs ridiculous and feel that people who don't want to be around animals can easily stay at one of the many, MANY hotels that don't allow them. The pet fee here was very reasonable and all the pups I was aware of were quiet and well behaved. Also, pet owners are placed away from the general population of the hotel. My initial check in took longer than expected but the staff was very friendly and apologetic. The king room here was better than suites I have paid twice as much for. The room was clean and had everything I needed including a fridge, microwave, work station and a very comfortable bed. The internet was fast and I was able to get work done and get a great night's rest. Breakfast was just what I needed. I had a warm bagel and some cereal and grabbed a few sausages for the pup and we were on our way. I will definitely return here on my way back.

1st time @ a La Quinta property ...& most likely my last. We spent 1 night there (last night) & it wasn't a pleasant stay as it appears the property is under construction. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls, touch up along all of the corners of the walls on the 3rd floor, 2-person jacuzzi tub I wouldn't dare step in as it didn't even appear clean, paper signs for room numbers, pool & hot tub is so outdated & honestly gross,,... I gave them 2 stars vs 1 as the staff was pleasant. Overall I suggest they complete the renovations before allowing guests to stay.

PET OWNERS...Was very unhappy to be charged a surprise fee for my dogs ($20 per dog!). I don't mind paying a pet fee, when I am informed in advance. And all other La Quintas have no pet fee. I felt tricked. Also, the room smelled like a dirty diaper so had to be moved. Pillows are cheap and flat. Thankfully the night manager was polite and patient. Obviously this place has an owner who is cheap. Skip this one.

Upon check-in I was informed there would be a $30 charge for "Incidentals" I'm a Choice Hotels Platinum member, I booked through the App there's no mention of this anywhere. When I questioned it I was told it was a "Choice Hotels thing"...it is not. I consider it an unauthorized charge. I will dispute it. Upon check-out i was standing at the Front desk room keys in hand I wanted a printed receipt (because of erroneous charges) The front desk associate was on the phone with an employee discussing an employee who didn't show up and an employee who is constantly late. He then left the front desk and walked down the hall to a laundry room to discuss something with a housekeeper while I remained standing at the counter. I finally walked down the hall and said I needed to check out. The housekeeper said "He'll be right there" The associate eventually returned to the front desk. Really poor customer service. The Guest is not an inconvenience. Will not stay here again. The Grand Junction Comfort Inn on Horizon is so much better.

At every other hotel/motel, you *show* your ID for verification, not *upload into an unknown system* that will be stored, accessed, and used by someone you don't know. This is the most basic identity-theft risk (and easiest to pull off) and AI make it easier than ever. When will companies learn that we live in a world where personal info must be safe-guarded more than ever? Here are the risks: Biometric identification isn't the future, it's now. Your photos could potentially be used to create AI-generated images, videos, or deepfakes of you. Some companies retain identity documents and biometric data for years, increasing your risk. Small companies almost always have weaker security, privacy controls, and oversight. Your data may be shared with third-party vendors or service providers. You may have limited ability to verify whether your data was actually deleted. Keep in mind that identity theft can take years to fix. Oh, and there's no one on-site - you have to text someone off-site if you need something. The rooms have no chairs. Take a look at the crappy furniture in the pic. It's cheap Ikea furniture with bubbled surfaces.

A Surprisingly Cool Spot in Grand Junction…read more We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junction--and I'm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout. The first night felt almost eerie... like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gem--relaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind. Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. It's paid, but easy to use through the app--averaging about $10 a day. By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had opened--but closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe. Inside, I stayed in a double room--huge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good! We're actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. I'm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar again--though I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and it's definitely a feature worth lingering over. All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes I've experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would definitely recommend!

But I was woken up numerous times during the night to footsteps overhead and general settling noises from the rooms around me. Bottom line...the walls and ceilings/floors are paper thin.
