Then I decided to do some research on my own on how I could get the help I needed to succeed in my weight loss battle. I decided to meet with Mark and Christina at the North Texas Clinical Weight Loss Center. I immediately felt relaxed and ready to take on this new adventure. They both explained everything in detail, to help me understand the tools I needed to get started. Christina has been a patient herself and lost over 50lbs and has kept it off. This made me want to be just as successful as she was. I jumped right in and started my journey on October 31st. As Mark would say "The Holiday's start on Halloween." I lost weight so quickly! In the first week I was down 7 lbs. I loved that I had tons of food choices and I was never hungry. The key is to count, count, count those calories and stick to your calorie budget! That combined with drinking TONS of water will get rid of those unwanted pounds. It has now been 5 & 1/2 months since I joined the clinic and I have lost 61 lbs! Now I feel great about myself and I can't wait to go shopping for a new wardrobe. My Husband says he feels like we are dating again. I get so many compliments and everyone wants to know how I did it. So here I am writing this AWESOME review. So stop imagining what you could look like and do something about it! Trust me, if I can do it ANYONE can do it. I'm not just saying that. I truly mean it. It is a doctor's office environment (not a spa) and the staff seems efficient at their jobs although they do need to keep their voices down when complaining about patients...they probably don't realize just how much their voices carry into the lobby. No worries...they didn't violate HIPA - they were not using a name. Groupon: I bought a Groupon that includes the shots + a body scan (which is similar to standing on a scale but it reads your body) that provides information such as body fat % and BMI, among other things. **feel free to PM me if you want to know more** After the body scan, the dietitian took me to a treatment room to review the scan results. The guy was really in shape so I imagine he knows his stuff but I felt he had a very difficult time communicating the information to me. I have pharmaceutical experience so it wasn't like he was speaking over my level, he just needs to practice his delivery or something. Anyway, I left feeling slightly overwhelmed at how much he talked AT me but I guess it's better than not having any consultation. I will hold my decision until I've had multiple visits He administered the shot to my hip which was rather painless. Subsequently, I had itching, it's been sore and numb for 2 weeks. I've yet to go back for another shot to allow the side effects to subside. I can't definitively attribute the symptoms to the shot (even though the symptoms are in the shot area) because it felt like I was bitten by something but it never bruised it was only red and swollen. Anyway, I will discuss it with the practitioner on my next visit and report back to y'all. BTW: I take the Slim Shot from Diet by Design in my arm and have the typical soreness but have not had any side effects after 6 shots. Lastly, they gave me a take home folder with a copy of my scan and said we would track my results. Impressive.

What a skilled, accomplished, and admired surgeon she is while being entirely authentic and engaging. Can you tell I'm having positive results? This isn't my first rodeo with weight loss. I'm one of the many who share the "family" overweight curse, with yo-yo dieting as a way of life. With Dr. Hodges' special care, I've lost over 50 pounds in my first four months since surgery. I'm confident in my ability to lose an additional 30 pounds or so by my (unspoken) personal deadline without unreasonable effort. The most important thing I've learned is what I had always heard: "PORTION SIZE MATTERS." It has taken me until my mid-seventies to learn that. Dr. Hodges gave me a very major tool to use. I do feel so well and so much better than I did 50 pounds ago. Although I focus on preparing and eating nutritiously and making sound choices, I don't have to entirely sacrifice some of my favorites, within reason. I'm content and comfortable eating approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of my former food intake. I've learned to recognize what it feels like to be full. Mentally, that keeps me in control. When I'm sure I'll die if I don't have a bite of chocolate, I have one. Bite. Ideally, Hershey's, because it is well worth the indulgence. Dr. Hodges gifted me with that realization, which I can use to achieve and maintain a lifelong weight that is acceptable to me for my health and self-esteem. I do love Dr. Hodges. She is the best! Maybe in a few weeks, I'll add some photos. We'll see.
