Exquisite Hospitality!! Absolutely loved the service here from the time we pulled up until leaving. Bellhop unloaded car and waited while we checked in. The desk agent came around from counter and held elevator open. Halls were well lit. Rooms very clean. Bedding was cozy. Loved the free bottles of water from front desk vs. $5 at pantry Now heres a first for me... Had to check out but not leaving until later in the day. The bellhop loaded the luggage into car so that when we did leave they only had to pull car up. Of course this is if you use $60 valet parking service. Not good. Looks good on the inside though nothing works. The font desk was generally at overcapacity, yet it took 3 people to do any job. Literally do not go during peak times because you will wait 20 minutes to pay them a lot of money. The food is terrible, not sure how the onsite restaurant gets over 4 stars. I went in a hitch because it was close, obvi, but should have walked. Took 20 min to even take my order... they apologized and said they were short staffed. Our stay at The Westin was truly lovely. From start to finish we were taken care of by their staff and amenities. Our room was clean and cozy (they got the good sheets a iykyk) and the hotel itself is in a great location. We walked to some great places nearby which is always a plus. We valeted our car, which in my opinion is the right move. Traffic is busy around downtown and I'm unsure of the specific locations of the garage for self parking. I will note that the entrance to the hotel was a bit hard to find due to construction, so keep your eyes peeled when you're finding the entrance and driving! read more

It has been several years since I stayed at this property and was very very pleasantly surprised. The rooms got a refresh and the old carpeting was torn out and replaced with commercial grade hardwood look alike flooring which looked really sharp. It was very convenient, right across the street from the convention center. I forgot there was a walkway between the hotel and the convention center, which made it very convenient. There's a lot of construction going on there right now, but the hotel staff was superb. read more

Stayed at this property while in town for a conference. This hotel is connected to the convention center via a sky bridge, which is very helpful. This hotel is also huge, many floors and lots of rooms per floor. Lots of conference space/rooms within this hotel too. Check-in was very helpful, friendly, and professional. My room looked great when I got into it. It was nice and clean and everything worked properly. The TV had a great assortment of channels and even had Pluto TV, which is what I've been watching a lot of lately. Only issue I had with the room and housekeeping was on my second day, the house keeper did a very poor job of refreshing my room, taking only some dirty towels, while leaving one behind and other things that weren't tended to. If you're in Downtown Indy, the Westin is a great option. Like Motel 6, they keep the lights on for you, but offer a better experience (depending on your point of view, of course). 4 Stars for the hotel! I was here for a conference and their conference space is easily accessible from the lobby without miles and miles of walking, or tipping the valet for a piggyback ride. The conference food was some of the worst I've ever had at a Conference though. They really should be ashamed of the quality of the food they were serving. That's the reason for 3 instead of 4 stars. The rooms were nice but not as spacious as some places. Sure, there was room to move around, but I've been in bigger. The bathrooms were renovated with the exception of the shower floor which seemed like it could have used as redo. The front desk staff was awesome as she nearly walked me to the elevator to show me where it was. She was either being nice or thought I was a complete moron as they weren't hard to locate. Checking in and out was a breeze. Also, the conference staff was amazing as well. They were friendly, engaging, and did their jobs caring for the attendees very well! Super job to everyone I encountered that was a Westin employee. There's a restaurant in the hotel which looked ok, but there are plenty of other places within walking distance (St. Elmos was 5-10 mins away). Drove down for the eclipse and the Westin went all out! From the giant countdown timer on the wall to the Indy car in the lobby to the desk staff in astronaut outfits, it's clear they know how to entertain and make for a great experience. The hotel itself has been remodeled and is large enough to host conferences - a plus if you're looking to spread out and enjoy the facilities. There's a well appointed gym on floor three with everything you need. I was a bit disappointed that 2/3 of the pelotons were in need of maintenance. The lounge on floor 3 is also a great place to grab breakfast, have a drink, or work from throughout the day. Stepping into the room, you'll be delighted by the spacious bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of space for sleeping, working, and relaxing. The bed and linens are super soft and you look forward to sleeping in at the end of the day. An added bonus that this property is in the heart of downtown and steps to the capitol, restaurants, museum, etc. read more

They found me a room right away, which was clean and very comfortable. The bed was nice and comfortable. I also found the staff helpful. For the good stuff first: The rooms are spacious and well-appointed with space to tuck your luggage away and a built-in armoire. The beds are very comfortable. Lobby staff are friendly. There is a to-go café and a sit-down restaurant and bar on-site and lots of seating for connecting. The meeting rooms are sizeable and comfortable. The gym has everything you would want or need to keep your workout going while you're away. Now for the meh stuff: Some of the to-go cafe staff need some customer service work. No greeting just a blank stare. I said good morning and ordered oatmeal and she never said a word, charged me and then began helping the next customer without making or getting the oatmeal. Um....! Five minutes later when I reminded the cashier she rolled her eyes and headed out of sight which had me a little worried about eating what she came back with. The meeting rooms were really warm and uncomfortable. It became a running joke at our conference. Some of the dishes laid out for our conference lunch fare were pretty inedible. Once they had vegetable or beef in tortillas. Neither looked good to me so I leaned toward just beans and the tomato cucumber salad but the salad was completely tasteless - no vinaigrette, no herbs - so I just ate the beans for lunch and was starving. There are no bathtubs in the regular rooms and the bathtubs in ADA rooms are like six inches high. I guess that's a new trend now but here I was looking forward to a soak while traveling and had brought all my salts but it wasn't in the cards. We were seated in front of the to-go Cafe one evening and a friend had just ordered food. We decided we wanted some too and walked up but they abruptly said we're closed and started sliding the doors. Their hours aren't posted. They didn't do a last call, and our friend had just ordered and they hadn't said anything to her about closing soon. It was just weird. And lastly there is a lot of construction outside which is an eyesore and it stirs up vermin. We saw a mouse in the seating area outside of the to-go café and restaurant while we were talking late one evening. read more

AVOID! One of the worst hotel experiences ever after staying at hundreds of hotels worldwide. Front of the hotel and areas all around hotel are under construction making it difficult for transportation and always traffic jammed. Took 15 extra minutes to circle the block to get to the entrance. Bellmen/valet just stood there staring at us and other people trying to open the ridiculously heavy front doors and provided no assistance. Two front desk employees had a terrible attitude and provided no customer service. No housekeeping for the entire four day stay. Called housekeeping twice EVERY DAY. They didn't come even once. Got a sense most of the white midwestern staff were racist as we are a mixed Asian/white couple not from the Midwest. As lifetime platinum we have reported issues to Marriott corporate. Doesn't deserve to be part of Marriott. It's a Best Western on a good day. read more

Checking in was a Breeze ( I had called 1 time prior to this trip to line everything out) feather free pillows because of down allergies in the family. This hotel got it right. The warm reception from from the nice lady at front desk had me feeling like VIP!!! We had a short stay here to visit the Athletic Trainer convention at the convention center. The layout of the king bed and couch was really efficient. (+1 star) they should be commended for being awesome. The security /cleaning/maintenance staff all very friendly and accommodating (+2 stars) I felt very safe coming and going from the Westin. We travel to Indianapolis annually for a large convention (Gen Con) and since 2006 and have stayed at a ton of different hotels & properties around the convention center area. What was the different this time? The staff. Darren Fish made my entire 4 night experience fantastic. From the moment we pulled in, he helped us unload, took care of our vehicle while we got situated and always with care and a smile. This year we decided to give The Westin a try and oh what a difference. Usually we arrive early as I have to rest and get a scooter due to my medical conditions and it is always a nightmare trying to unload and check-in with my medical equipment and luggage. Part of the issue is that so many of the hotels have tons of vendors trying to get at the same time. I can honestly say that Darren's attitude, assistance and demeanor will have me now staying at The Westin for our annual trip going forward. Then over the next 4 days, Darren went out of his way to check on me, open doors and more. Provide some of the most extraordinary service I have had in a long long time. I love staying at the Westin when I am traveling, however this was my least favorite. The only warm welcoming I got was from the guys working valet. I had to ask for help, when checking in. Since I have been a Marriot member for a few years I usually get upgraded without asking. I did not have that option here, they also did not have the "destination fee" and did not know what it was when I asked about it. Of course the rooms were large and comfortable and they had a great gym, but the hallways are like mazes. Every time I got off the elevator to my floor I got lost trying to find my room. I will say this place is in easy walking distance. Would I stay again? maybe if they staff learned how to be more professional and kind. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin! The location is perfect, as we could easily walk downtown and to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch the Fever game! We were also easily able to watch the 4th of July fireworks right from Our hotel room, which was a nice surprise! The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and had wonderful recommendations! One of my favorite parts was the workout room- complete with pelotons, stairmasters, treadmills, and any weight machine you could want, it made our stay that much more enjoyable starting our mornings there! The hotel bar was also a nice place to end the evening! The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. The only two downfalls were the parking and noise. $60/night is quite steep and something I was unaware of. I highly recommend finding a nearby, cheaper garage as there were plenty available even for a holiday weekend. In addition, walls were pretty thin and we could hear people in the hallways being very noisy throughout the night. Otherwise, would definitely stay here again if wanting an enjoyable weekend in downtown Indy! read more

Perfect location for direct access to the convention center. It is the closest of all of the hotels. JW is the furthest and makes you walk a long distance. I was in room 606. Decent room but the AC is quirky. It's either very cold blowing right in the middle of the room or hot if you turn it off. Also, the units turn themselves off. Not sure why. Room service was fast and you can also go pick up your food. There are no vending machines and no icemakers. Says it's renovations ... sure! You have to go to the front desk to get a soda and it's 5$, Not worth it. Maintenance needs to do periodic checks on the condition of the rooms to make sure everything is in order and meets the Westin brands standards. I had a fridge that was missing all of the shelving. I requested a new fridge and it was brought up, but they didn't remove the old one; which makes me believe that they will remove the replacement and leave the old one in the room. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return if I had to come back. Housekeeping was great and respectful of my time and space. The valet were great also. They kept everyone on the loop and no one was waiting for a long time. If they saw you standing there they immediately asked if you needed help. Great service overall. read more

Stayed here for a week for a conference. The location of this hotel is amazing as it is attached to the convention center and walking distance (or scooter distance) to anywhere you could want to go downtown. Although they did not have daily room service, it was super quick and easy to get what you needed upon request while passing the front desk on the way back to the room. I was able to obtain additional towels and toilet paper. The room was super clean and we had no issues. The bar at the hotel had decent food and great drinks. I would definitely consider staying her again if I ever return to Indianapolis. read more

Not a good experience. The refrigerator did not work in our room so they suggested that we bring our item to the refrigerator downstairs. I objected and ask for another room. once we got too the other room that fridge did not work either. the day of check out, housekeeping did not knock and just came in the room at 930. we will never stay here again. read more

Loved my stay here! Super nice hotels with nice rooms and an incredible gym. It's definitely the best hotel gym I've ever been to. The hotel is conveniently located so we could walk everywhere we were going that weekend, which was amazing. The only issue we had was that we couldn't get into the restaurant for some reason. The outside entrance was closed, and when we tried to go in through the hotel lobby, they had the entrance closed off. We ended up just going out for breakfast, but we really wanted to try the hotels restaurant. Other than that, though, everyone was super friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay! read more

We stayed at the Westin Indianapolis for a business trip for my husband during the CVSA Inspectors competition. There was construction still going on in the hotel in which there were loud sounds pretty much from 7 AM to 6 PM. The hotel room was nice and updated, however the listing that we booked was for a city view. When we got to the hotel room we was excited to open the window And see what our view would be of the city. Unfortunately our view was just a rooftop of air conditioning units overlooking the Marriott next-door. Since that I stayed in the room majority of the time while my husband was doing the competition, I did not request housekeeping to come in and clean the room. So we would request fresh towels each night through the app. Several of the employees who brought the towels we requested were extremely rude. We also had a very hard time getting an itemized receipt, we ended up having to call corporate and report this issue in order to get the receipt that we needed. When we checked into the hotel we were given a piece of paper that stated which floors that the microwaves and ice makers were on. We stayed on the third floor and there was an area for an icemaker previously however, only wires were showing and no icemaker available. That was another downside to this hotel, was that we had to travel from the third-floor to the 11th floor in order to use a microwave and get access to ice. If you're looking for an over priced but clean place to sleep, and don't mind a little noise this is the place for you. read more

The Marriott brand has fallen off across-the-board, and this hotel completely exemplifies that. The hotel lobby looks Sovietesque and the room furnishings look straight out of TJ Maxx. Despite the pandemic having wound down already, the hotel decided to wait until AFTER the travel pause to remodel the fitness center. However, they still don't have room service, and the pizza I got from the lobby market was essentially raw - despite the fact that they have a legitimate wood-fired oven. My advice is upgrade to a Motel 6. read more

If I could give them 0 I would. This was an absolutely horrible stay. I was locked from my room twice in the 4 days I was here. When I went to tell them this the workers were extremely unhelpful. They essentially told me they would send someone, but they won't make then go faster. When I told them I had a check out I had to meet they told me that I just had to wait and they couldn't do anything. It took them 45 minutes to get my door open after basically scratching at it for 10 minutes. The reason my door wouldn't open was because the carcard reader was "dead" and that is quite frankly rridiculous. I mean seriously how hard is it to make sure that your card readers are properly working and charged? The only redredeeming quality was the rain shower head. read more

One of the best downtown hotels for the money, great location, easy Uber pick up in and out. There's a lot of conferences here so there's always a different mix of many different people. The parking is expensive but that's the same with every hotel in downtown Indianapolis anywhere from $40-$50 a day to park. That's why I don't drive, that's why I Uber everywhere. read more

We stayed here a couple weeks ago! We were getting dinner and drinks with friends and got in late, so when we went to check in, it was about 3:30AM. I hadn't realized I needed to notify them ahead of time that we'd be getting in late so when we got there, their systems were in the middle of an audit and we had to wait about a half an hour. After waiting, we were then told our reservation was canceled at full price since we didn't show in time. Exhausted and frustrated at this point, I was a wreck. I'm giving them a 4 because of the compassion and understanding they eventually showed us. They did comp us a room and made sure we had everything we needed. Very grateful they were so helpful because it was clearly my mistake for not checking in earlier. Definitely learned our lesson for next time! read more

The full-size beds stink if you have two people on them. The bathtub is chipped and peeling, the door frame in the bathroom is rusty. Location is very nice for event at the Convention Center. I used to work a big convention in town and I requested this hotel. For the past 6-8 years I have been attending as a guest. This year I was finally able to grab this hotel again. Rooms have been remodeled, bed are still amazing but there isn't enough storage. They used to have Shula's steak house which was expensive but the food was great. I guess they closed during the pandemic, lots of downtown Indy eateries did, and the hotel replaced them with Ten Hands which quite frankly sucked. I ate at the breakfast and lunch buffets. Breakfast was slightly better than a free breakfast you get at a discount motel. Pancakes (dry/stale), syrup, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon. Lunch was sliders, mini hotdogs, tater tots. It was terrible. Don't pre-make the sliders you don't know what people want on them. Should have put at least 2 of those mini hotdogs in the bun. Again don't make them how you like them, just let people add the extras themselves. I'd have been annoyed . Quality was terrible. Very disappointed. So the convention block is more than double the normal nightly rate, if you book outside the block it's more than triple for the convention weekend. So it is as busy as this hotel gets. Yet they have the ice machines off on every other floor turned off. This was just about the end for me, how much money do you have to be making to turn on the fucking ice machines. It's the hotel of last resort for me now. Will try not to be back. very disappointed read more
