A gorgeous historical pub in a small village of Beetham that serves great food and has some nice beers on tap. Located in a gorgeous old 17th century house this pub oozes charm inside and out. We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Lake District and loved it. The Wheatsheaf Inn has been serving Beer and Food to visitors, sightseers and locals alike since 1609.
The menu is a classic pub menu and has pies, fish and chips and other such pub classics. They also have a good selection of vegetarian / vegan dishes. The bitter here is good and they have 2-3 on draught. The fish and chips were a decent portion with homemade tartare sauce and good thick chips. It was light crispy and well cooked on the inside.
Happily stop here again for a meal. It's a gorgeous old pub that has been updated and service is nice and friendly. Prices are also reasonable for the area. read more
