Came to this consignment shop in Wilmington after repeatedly seeing it through my online searches for consignment shops. I especially was drawn to this place because it seemed to be more relatable to my interest as compared to some other local consignment shops in the area that definitely seemed more beach and coastal themed. The Wherehouse is quite literally a giant warehouse. Plenty of good pieces as well as some junk. A lot of chairs, old furniture, and random items (my favorite was the child's Oscar Meyer Weiner car lol.) I was looking for something very specific and so this place didn't satisfy my needs, but this was a cool spot to look around. I think the value was pretty good overall for what they had available. And don't even get me started about how the artwork was outside! I took a bunch of photos. Probably like others do as well. Ha ha. Didn't interact with any staff during my time there, but that is honestly honestly just fine with me. They seemed like good people from far away. read more

Don't do it! Sounds good, but a month or 2 your appliances won't work properly. It purchased a washer/dryer set in MARCH. I had to change both TWICE before the 30 day warranty expired. TODAY JUNE 3, THAT SET DON'T WORK PROPERLY. So $620 WASTED!!! read more

I purchased two different items from the Wherehouse and I've had a great experience both times. The first one was a beautiful Monogram refrigerator, runs great four months later. And just went to buy a built-in microwave, Eddie was great and very helpful, as well as repair staff. Will be back! read more

Extremely overpriced for what you get. Extremely pushy and rude sales people. They plaster Facebook groups from multiple fake accounts just to get people in the door. One of their employees in particular is extremely rude accusing me of stalking for commenting on some of the MANY public Facebook posts. This place had pretty high prices for some items that were in terrible condition.. like blown out seat cushions on a vintage couch with damaged wood and it's marked at $350 but eventually lowered to 300. It seems like a joke... this place seems like they take in bulk old furniture from hotels or businesses that went through a renovation which isn't an issue but the prices seem off. You can def get fairer pricing elsewhere. However, I did think the art on the exterior and interior was cool but def wouldn't go back. read more

Stay away. Don't believe "the hype" of this place. We went to the Wherehouse to buy some furniture for our business. We looked around and saw several pieces we were interested in. I took a chair off a shelf and an employee came over and said he'd prefer I not do that and that he'd be happy to help us with anything. That's fine, we get it. No problem. So we looked around more and saw some chairs we liked. One was on the ground but it was a bit "rickety" so we asked the employee if he could take some other matching chairs down, so we could see them. This is when, what appeared to be, the owner of the place show up full of pi$s and vinegar. She scolded the man awkwardly (in front of us) that he was supposed to be working in the appliance section, and she was clearly angry that he was pulling the chairs off the shelf. We tried explaining to her that we liked the chair but we wanted to see one that wasn't damaged. She then snapped back at us that "they were all that way" and "I don't want these taken off the shelf because it's too much work to put back!" What? What!?! Who does that? Why would you run a business and say that to potential buyers? I'm not joking when it was straight up ignorant trash attitude. We were shocked. We just looked at each other and it would have been so easy to stoop to her level BUT my wife just calmly said, "Well you just lost some sales" and we left. I feel bad for the people who have to put up with that foul lady's personality. Just take your money elsewhere. We bought a few hundred dollars worth of furniture at another local store, and didn't get the attitude with it. read more

Just moving to town and as in need of a washer/dryer for my new place. I'd been to a couple of other appliance stores in the area and then found "The Wherehouse". Being that the new apartment is a rental I of course didn't want to spend a fortune on a washer and dryer. We wandered around for a little bit before someone came to help but we found exactly what we were looking for, it was priced well and we were able to have it delivered that afternoon! Will definitely recommend and possibly visit again for our next furniture/applicance purchase. read more

Shopping experience here at the wherehouse! Have your walking shoes on, some nice stuff but you will need to dig to find what you want. My experience is rather odd, I found a couple of pieces bought and paid for them. Nothing unusual until loading up to leave, the elderly woman who checked me out, started going through my cabinet, after it was loaded on my truck? Found what she wanted from the cabinet, put it in her pocket and dismissed me on my way? It was paid for and loaded on my truck and she still went thru the item looking? Still mystified??? read more

Buyer beware. We purchased a washer dryer unit and when we paid for it we were told they weren't doing delivery because of Covid, we would have to pick it up and bring it home. We were given a 30 day warranty and told if we had issues with the machine depending on what it was they would fix it. We get it home a few days later and it's making a thumping noise. 3 calls later they are refusing to come out for a service call due to Covid, and said that because we picked it up if we wanted it looked at we would have to bring it back. It's a stacked washer dryer, there is no way we can do that. Because we picked it up that is the only option. I was told twice that they would be in contact with the owner to see if anything could be done and we never got a response. All they needed to say when we were buying the washer dryer is if there was a problem we'd have to bring it back. If they had said that we wouldn't have bought it. Very very disappointed, they seem to only care about money, their customer service could use some work. read more

This place is part antiques, part builder supply. The furniture seemed to be more on the traditional side (something someone with older taste might enjoy). They were pricey as well. Cool building exterior though. read more

The merchandise was well organized and neatly displayed. I did ask about a coupon and they offered 20% off, so ask! They were super friendly and fun to talk to. The stuff is not priced yard sale cheap but I found a flamingo and a crane for my yard that I'm happy with! I think it's worth a trip to see what treasure you might find! read more

I saw a seemingly nice French desk they had listed on Facebook Marketplace and got them to send me more photos; I inspected them closely, and then asked if there was any damage on the wood like splits, cracks, etc. They replied: "No it's in pretty good shape." Then after realizing the thing was too big to fit in my hatchback, and being offered ludicrously overpriced delivery service, I convince my best friend to take tomorrow off and drive me out to this place with his old, barely running pickup truck. So after about an hour and 15 minutes of driving the next day, my pal and I walk in, and we are not greeted. Oddly enough, at no point did anyone even acknowledge us for our whole, nearly-an-hour, visit there. Anyhow, I finally locate the desk I was ready to buy at full price, i.e. $250, and find that it's essentially falling apart--multiple large cracks, decorative metal appendages unravelling, lacquered finish bubbling up and peeling off, wood strips missing at the top surface, mold growing from underneath, (see the close up pictures I took below.) In other words, me and my good buddy's time that day was flushed down the toilet because of their dishonesty and complete lack of customer service. I went looking for a refrigerator and was told the ones they have for sale were taken from spec homes that buyers didn't want or they were "scratch and dent." They delivered it and within a month the refrigerator was freezing our drinks and the freezer wasn't keeping food frozen. The hurricanes hit so we lost track of time and didn't get them to come service it during the 30-day warranty period. I was told they could come work on it for a charge but they were backed up 3 weeks. Thank goodness I called a real appliance repair company. They called in the serial number to the manufacturer and were told my refrigerator was supposed to be destroyed and they wouldn't offer any warranty. The repairman informed me the work that had been done on my refrigerator was shoddy at best. Then he replaced the temperature sensor and told me if that doesn't do the trick my only option is to buy a new refrigerator. I paid $1200 and got a refrigerator that was supposed to be destroyed. Don't waste your money with these shysters. I've bought the same refrigerator for my daughter for $900 from a legit store that carries true scratch and dent appliances. I wish I had never gone to the Wherehouse. read more

As a shop owner myself I can understand that people lie and don't show but be decent if someone says they are going to get something. Won't come back. read more
