Overall Failure - An experience of two hairs discovered. Having recently moved to the lake during…read morethe summer, we decided to pay a visit and find out what this restaurant was about. Looking back, it was a bad mistake and terrible decision, especially with the other great eateries around the lake. We found the Asian Station to be a chaotic mixture of American treats (hamburgers & fries & ice cream) and westernized Chinese food with combo style specials (ie. fried rice, lemon chicken, sweetandsour pork, average Asian fare). Although the exterior of the building looks really nice, the inside of the restaurant is an eye sore and not very well kept. We went against our best senses and decided to give it a go, at my son's insistence for a hamburger at the Asian Station (?)(!) However, we ordered items off both the Asian and Anglo side of the menus. My best advice is to stick with the Chinese side of the menu if you choose to dine at the Asian Station. We found our burgers were simply unacceptable, our buns over saturated with sauce (ie. ketchup/mustard, relish) and not every well presented. The fries were cold and the burgers were under cooked and slimy. Although our Asian dishes (i.e. noodles, and fried rice) were somewhat better but not good enough. Portions were below average and quality of service was sub-standard. There are other places around the lake side which are much better, including value for taking a family out for dinner. Bottom line. My wife told me after leaving that she discovered two long blonde hairs in our son's food. Quite perplexing as we were sitting in an (quasi) Asian restaurant.. My wife, being the polite Canadian, did not want to raise a fuss.... Over the coming weeks, we have realized the other local establishments are busy with local customers, and the Asian Station gets the unsuspecting tourist walk ins. I vowed the minute I got back into civilization with internet access, I would write this to warn others considering a trip here for a meal.

First off I have to say we were quite pleased with the taste of the pizza. Prices are insane. We…read morewere checking out of hotel and I enjoy cold pizza in the morning so I took a big happy bite and a long piece of hair cooked into the cheese pulled out of my mouth and was stuck under the Italian sausage. We own a pizza place ourselves and we wear hairnets and other devices to protect from this. I went from really liking this pizza to almost being sick. You guys need to do better in your kitchen it's not ok to have hair in your food. Enforce hairnets in food prep. Just gross.

The food and atmosphere are good. The service was terrible. We ordered a pepp/mush pizza to share…read moreand requested that onions be on half instead of mushrooms (so essentially half was pepp/mush and half was pepp/onion). The mushrooms were forgotten completely so we mentioned but said no thanks to a side of mushrooms being brought out (pizza would have been cold by then). The bill: $32.60 for the pizza, an add on charge of $1.95, and another add on charge of $3.95. Our waitress kept the bill on her tray while she entered the total in the machine, handed the machine to my husband, then put the bill on the table. He glanced at the total to make sure it matched then paid. By doing this the waitess pretty much kept the bill out of our sight and I didn't notice the upcharges until I looked at it afterwards. We questioned the waitress about the charges, she said it's an old system so it's "entered automatically". I replied that she hadn't told us about a charge to substitute vegetables (understandable if there's a charge to substitute a veg for a meat) and again asked to know why there were two add-on fees. She took the bill and walked away. Another server came out and said she'd call her manager down, but they'd refund the bill, recharge without the add ons. We said okay and sat back to wait. Our original waitress came out, slammed $4.50 in change on the table, and walked away without a word. So, not only were there unexplained add ons on our bill, how our server handled it was terrible. The complaint isn't over $5.95 in over charges...it's about terrible communication, a bad attitude, and mismanagement of a problem that could have very easily been dealt with quickly and politely. We won't be back and yes, I've called the manager.
