Great place to go for a drink or two, but don't expect decent service or a good dining experience…read more It's got a nice, "Cheers"-like atmosphere if you are into that sort of small-town thing, but I rarely had a good eating experience there. The service is slow and not very friendly; the servers seem to not only be extremely rushed whether the place is busy or not, but they tend to forget things, they are quite grouchy and if it's a busy night, they will treat you as though you are an annoyance to them. My partner and I went out one night for their Friday night Steak Night, which we used to attend almost all the time with varying results. The meal included steak, baked potato, Caesar salad, and one beer. I am not able to drink beer, so I asked if I could substitute a high ball instead and was told "no substitutions", so I ordered a Coke. My partner drank his beer, but had to send his plate back several times because half of his potato was raw. Mine was also raw, but after sending it back the second time I decided to just eat the half that was cooked. Our server explained that "something was wrong with our oven". After the third time, my partner decided to eat his half of the raw potato...because the rest of our food was getting cold while we waited. When we got our bill, we were surprised to see how large it was. We were expecting maybe 10% would be taken off for the inconvenience of having to wait nearly an hour for a half-cooked potato, but that wasn't even close to what happened. I was charged full price for the meal even though I didn't have my beer, plus charged $4 for my nonrefillable pop (the beer was only 75 cents more). The server explained that when she said "no substitutions", she meant NOTHING could be substituted (I had assumed she meant only alcoholic drinks). I don't understand why they can't substitute a non-refillable pop in place of a beer, which saves them money in the long run. Not only did they not bother to discount us, we were charged $2 more per plate than we were used to. When we asked the server about that, her reply was that they had changed the prices a couple of months ago. The price was not listed anywhere else in the place. Since she had said that the "no substitutions" thing was made clear in the menu, we asked for a copy of the menu, and saw they were still asking $12.99 on the menu instead of the $14.99 we were charged. We asked why it hadn't been changed in the menu to reflect the new prices and she said, "You guys are actually the first people to notice that." We refused to pay that price, especially considering all the issues we had during our meal. The server left to speak to the manager, and came back and said she couldn't change the price for any reason. We asked to speak to the manager ourselves, and she left again..coming back and saying she took the extra $4 off our bill, but couldn't do any more than that. She told us that's what the manager said to do, and that he was too busy to come and speak with us. The manager is the same business owner who told a veteran who had a service dog with him that he was not allowed to bring the dog into the restaurant with him, even though it was a clearly marked service dog and they had the papers to prove it. We are NEVER going back there again.

They offered my wife a complimentary glass of their feature wine while we settled in. We enjoyed the cozy indoor setting with a large window into the kitchen where you can watch the cooks work their magic. We enjoyed seeing another table order Caesar salads. The staff member returned with a cart full of ingredients and proceeded to make a Caesar salad, including dressing, from scratch right in front of them! Drink orders were a margarita and their home made ginger lemonade, both of which were satisfactory. We ordered arancini as an appetizer. Tasty and rich, it came with oven baked prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. Filet mignon (rare) and the papardelle short rib dish were both divine. We skipped dessert because we felt we had ate a sufficient amount of food. Excellent portion sizes. I wouldn't say this place is expensive, but it also isn't a budget dining experience. When you want really good food, you have to pay for it. Seems like a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. No dress code, but you probably don't want to come in shorts and sandals. Make sure to call for a reservation, as it seems they can only accommodate a few walk-ups at a time. Highly recommended.

Where do I begin with this place? My friend called this place few times to get information. We were…read moretold that the cabin is facing a lake and that the rooms have freezers, coffee makers, ovens, and are big. We were so choked up when we got there for our weekends from Alberta, but did not know what else to do. There are no freezers, ovens or coffee makers in the room. We had taken frozen pizza and other food that needed to be in the freezer that we ended up getting ice and keeping them in the cooler and having to bring it back. The lake is about 10 minutes drive to the cabins and the room was so disgusting that we are lucky we had our own pillow and blanket and slept on top of the beddings they had with our own blanket. The sink in the "kitchen" was the same sink you would use when you come out of the bathroom. The shower curtain was so small that the carpet in the bathroom was soaking wet after each shower. Which was weird because the shower was only a drizzle to the point that I couldn't rinse off the soap and shampoo completely. We literally washed all the dishes before using it. That's how grossed out we were. The room was practically size of a shed and when we asked for the bigger room, the owner, Patti said no because she didn't want to clean the small room. We hadn't even taken anything inside, just opened the door and went back to her. Every time we talked to the lady owner, she would change her stories and didn't answer questions. When we tried to talk to her husband, she would become very defensive. We found the information we received from the lady was day and night different from the info that the man was giving. The "fire pit" was this round middle thing that was on top of the grass and you had to chop your own wood and pray that this middle round that that easily moved around was safe. Patti the lady owner told us that they are always busy. Beside my friend and I and there was only the coupe and their dog that owned the place for the whole weekend. The campground right across from it was PACKED. This place is not worth $100 per night. Maybe $50, but if you're planning to go there on a vacation and fun, don't go near this place.

Let me start by saying we came for the restaurant, and the vouchers provided by our hotel, but more…read moreon that later. It's bright, and easily accessible. We had a good visit and would return if we are staying in Prince Albert again. We visited in August 2014, I apologize for finishing my review now, hope you find it helpful. If you get a players card, there is a discount in the restaurant, and a daily players breakfast deal. If you are staying at a hotel, ask at your hotel's front desk once a day to see if they offer a gaming voucher - we played for an hour on the video slots on the credit from ours. When you redeem the credit at the main desk, do *NOT* be shy to walk over to the players club machine behind you (across from the main desk) and *verify* that the correct amount was placed on your card before you walk away from the desk. We had received 2 vouchers from our hotel, but they were credited for the wrong dates, so we only had half the credit given. We're not much for gambling, but it IS a fun time for a while. My trick to not spending too much money is to not take the credit cards in, and only bring the cash I'm willing to blow for entertainment. :D Not everyone can gamble, and not everyone should. The restaurant is ok. While it provides basic fare, it is fairly quick service, although I had to reduce my rating by one star for the sheer number of house flies that were in the restaurant. A UV sanitizer was operating on the wall, so there are protocols in place, but asking our server, they weren't sure where all the flies came from. I was surprised that they had really very good gluten free toast available, and my eggs were cooked to perfection. We did choose to eat here twice during our stay, and would go back. Staff are... varied. The folks in the restaurant were helpful with providing me with gluten free food, and for my significant other, apparently you can order bannock to go! There are two kinds, baked fresh mornings - ask when it's best to get some. We did return before leaving Prince Albert and he brought some home. There is separate smoking and non-smoking gambling areas, with their respective washrooms. There are cigarette holders in the non-smoking ladies room, but the main casino is non-smoking. Just over on the left side is a smoking gambling room with video machines and tables. Lots of video gambling machines around the perimeter of the main room, tables in the middle. There is a restaurant, deli, bar and snack machines (under the stairs if you just need a nibble). Two sets of restrooms off the main non-smoking area, and elevators to the upper level where I believe there are private games rooms. I did not visit the smoking area for health reasons. Plenty of parking, there is a hotel/motel attached by a walkway. It's definitely easy to locate and get here.
