Sunshine House Oakley - The best part of our day? These bright smiles. Literacy and laughter go hand-in-hand

Both of my girls attended this preschool, and I cannot say enough great things about our experience here. The teachers are incredibly sweet, caring and committed to their students' early development. Their dedication to teaching is clear - when my oldest daughter started Kindergarten, her teacher specifically noted how academically and socially advanced she was, directly crediting how well her preschool had prepared her. As a parent, there is no greater feeling than being able to drop your kids off every morning with complete peace of mind. I never had to worry because I knew my girls were in the best of hands, being loved, supported and receiving a fantastic early education. Thank you, Sunshine House Oakley, for giving my daughters such a wonderful foundation!

They truly take the time to understand each child individually and support them through every stage--from the toddler years through becoming more expressive and independent. As a parent, I've always felt completely confident and at ease leaving my child in their care, which means everything. The kindness and support they've shown not only to my son but also to me as a parent has made a lasting impact. This is a place where children are genuinely nurtured, and it shows every day.

Being a nervous mother, it is so reassuring when your shy toddler is not only excited to go to school, but runs right up to the teachers in the mornings & is happy to start the school day Ms Trish is absolutely amazing, so kind & genuinely cares about each kiddo. I love how well they communicate as well as their security measures to keep every child safe. Both the inside of the facility & outside play yard are always clean & well maintained which I appreciate as well. I could write a novel of all the great things but to sum it up... if you're looking for a cozy, caring preschool/daycare for your precious little one, this is the place to go!

When we went to tour the school, my son seemed instantly comfortable and didn't want anything to do with us which was how we knew this was the place for him. He was usually a Velcro child and we couldn't be further than an arms reach from him without him freaking out. The school is always VERY clean, decorated so nicely with kids artwork and so cute for holidays, and they have a sweet chicken that loves the kids! All of the staff is so sweet, patient, and understanding. My son had a hard time adjusting to not being home with me all day and was later diagnosed with autism and they never once made him feel less than. Instead, they were able to pick up on his needs like needing his schedule to stay the same, how to talk to him when he's doing something he shouldn't without him freaking out, and helped in his potty training journey. He is now almost 5 and aging out soon but I couldn't be more grateful for everything they have done for him. Our daughter is currently enrolled since she turned 18 months and everyday she comes home with new words (she just turned 2), loves the staff, and loves her friends and environment there. If you choose a preschool for your child , let it be this one, you won't be disappointed.

Teacher Sheila runs this place and she is truly exceptional. She's very organized, patient and attentive. You could also tell that she is compliant to the state regulations and makes sure her staff is vetted, which puts our minds at ease. They all seem to be very nurturing and genuinely care about the kids' individual needs. When my daughter was new, they gave her enough time until she was fully adjusted to their structure. When we had a baby back in November and my toddler started acting out --- they were extra patient with her, held her when she cried until she was back to her normal bubbly self. When another kid was acting out and accidentally scratched our daughter's face, she informed us immediately and provided the necessary care for our daughter. The facility is always clean with appropriate safety measures. They do a lot of engaging, age-appropriate activities for the kids, with time indoors (storytime, crats, etc) and outdoors too (outside play) when the weather permits. Teacher Sheila maintains good communication with the parents, consistently providing updates and sending pictures around afternoon. When I pick up my daughter, she seems to be always happy, showing us whatever art work they did for the day. Meals and learning materials are all provided for, that truly makes it convenient for us busy parents. This is my child's second daycare and we feel that our child is getting high quality care from Teacher Sheila, Ms. Faye and Ms. Susan. The only con I could think of, and this is very minor, is there is a bit of a wait time when parents ring the door to pick up the kids. I hope they will let the parents in first before prepping the kids so we don't have to wait outside in the cold or the hot summer sun :) Overall, we have a very positive experience and we highly recommend this daycare. I would give them 10 stars if we could.

Ms. Sheila along with Ms. Susan and Ms. Faye were so wonderful not only to my little boy Atlas but to all the kids that were under their care. Ms. Sheila's communication is excellent and the bond that she and Atlas developed is unremarkable. This was Atlas's first time in daycare and we thought he would hate it but he LOVED it. With Ms. Sheila's attentive care and lessons that she shared with Atlas and the kids, he would also share it with us at home. To Ms. Sheila, Atlas always brings up his memories with you and always tells us that you're his favorite teacher! Thank you so much again!
