    Lawn damage
    Anne H.

My advice: don't hire The Window Store unless you want them to wreck your yard and driveway, and leave you hanging out to dry, saying they aren't responsible for the damage. They tried to drive a 25-ton truck onto a lawn that had been rained/snowed on for weeks, in the process also causing portions of our driveway to collapse. But we signed a lawn damage waiver (didn't realize it also apparently applied to "total lawn decimation" along with driveway damage) so they can't be bothered. This has been an absolute nightmare and caused so much stress. I'll try to post photos with this review if I can figure out how to do it. If they try to sell you a new roof, RUN.

The office manager there should be fired. They don't answer phones, ghost you for months, and when they finally do the job, it's sh$&. They told us they'd discount the price, I paid them 90% which is more than they deserved after cracking our counter, scuffing up several molding pieces, forgetting pieces (like the dishwasher photo where they didn't even add a piece) and then drilling holes in the wrong door, not once but twice! They suck. Now they are saying we owe them money because we should've expected delays. It wasn't the delays although not being to use my kitchen for an entire month was unpleasant--it was there shitty performance and terrible customer service. The PM said they'd give us a discount but the office hag, Hailey refused. So the BBB and the state of MN have been notified.

I have never been a fan of listening to a sales pitch, but after dealing with several cold Minnesota winters, drafty windows and a patio door that provided daily workouts to let the dog in and out-we decided to start listening to the pitchmen for our latest home improvement (WINDOWS). Steve was well versed on the product and explained the materials and other manufacturing details. He also explained the process of what was needed to complete the job, initial measurements, quotes and then follow up visits by the installing technician to ensure that our windows were custom built for the openings in our home. We could have stuck with windows that were much like our original, which for the most part we did, but we did decide to go with a "three lite slider" to get rid of a 6 inch wide post between two separate windows in our living room. The process was as advertised, and in the process, we received new smoke alarms in every room to ensure there were no hiccups when the inspectors visited after the work was done (code requires them now, so that saved my wife and I the head ache of buying them and installing). The windows have made a drastic difference in the noise from outside, and drafts are non-existent! We have already noticed a difference in how often our Air Conditioning cycles, I look forward to a much improved Winter experience too, no more cold drafts near the windows and more natural light into our living area than before. Great team, great product, great price and I'm looking forward to potentially working with them again for another project I have in mind, maybe siding in 2 years..hmm... I believe that you might be able to get cheaper, but I feel that you would be missing out on great Minnesota made custom windows, installed efficiently and with no headaches if you go with The Window Store.

I like materials but I just wasn't happy.

I appreciated that they came back about 3 times to finish up a simple paint job. Thanks. But it just still bugs me. You tell me!

I recently had my kitchen refaced. By The Window store My negative is that the customer service is lacking which made the entire process start on a bad note. There was no courtesy or reminder call the day before. Which would of been a opportunity for a good customer service. The work was marginal at best. There was trimming of re-facing product that left my Cupboards exiting paint chipped and obviously sanded. There was not any communication that this was part of the process. Or they where going repair the chipping. The plus is my kitchen jump into the 20th century. With the new doors, drawers and outer re-reface product. L.Autor Eagan,MN

Charlie and his installation crew were friendly and very tolerant of our dogs, who barked every time they came in.

I'm not sure how they get an A + BBB rating when they get contacted with a complaint and even do not respond to the BBB. So now I have a window that has wood freezing and turning black when temperatures drop below zero. The blackness is the first step towards rotting away, and `it comes from an inadequately insulated window frame. I know it is not from moisture in the house as I have monitored it and the wood gets so cold it freezes. Since early Spring I have attempted to get someone out to repair it, and one time someone even promised to correct it after a house visit, but then communications were lost again. It's not just that the 5500.00 window will eventually need to be replaced again, it's the fact that the company simply doesn't care about customer service or honor any type of warranty work. The window is a Lindsey window and they only called one time as well then never heard back. Terrible backing of what they sell and install, and apparently terrible quality of the product. A window like this should last 20 or more years and this one is bad at five. I eventually gave up communications and wrote the BBB, and today I get an email that BBB letter to Minnesota Exteriors was never answered. Again, no response! I would not recomend them to anyone for any type of work just because they don't care after the sale is over.
