Our custom built windows are fantastic! One glitch, a do hickey that keeps a window open broke, I called for repair since we have lifetime warranty-lifetime warranty is only PARTS. No the labor to fix this issue. They gave us a one time fix as we were at a year of purchase. But advised next time there will be a labor charge. Be cautious of 'lifetime' warranties. Pricing was super reasonable for our Bow window, bay window & 2 basement windows. Also the pull the permits but expect the customer to handle the close out final inspection of the permit-which is kinda not cool. read more

We looked to The Window Store and crew to replace 5 old windows in our home. None of the windows were fancy or complicated, pretty basic size and layout on a three story house. We were able to lock in a great price (we compared other companies before we made our final decision so we knew we were getting a good deal), a great window, and overall we had a good experience working with the staff. Sales was sales but not pushy or rude, our guy listened to what we wanted and made it work out. I was bit nervous with the whole scheduling out the windows process since it seemed a bit relaxed compared to working with other contractors in the past but we had no issues when it came time for day of install. The installers were very friendly and made sure to get the project done right the first time around, taking extra time and care to make sure it was to our satisfaction before they left for the day. We love our new windows and it is nice to be able to finally fully open them again and let in the cool summer breezes we have been missing because of our old, defunct windows. read more

Had all our windows replaced with brown trim. A year later the brown turned pea green. Now after being told the paint was bad we had them all replaced . Now here we are in 2025 and the paint is peeling off all of the trim. Do NOT USE THESE WINDOWS !!!! Would never recommend this company go with champion if you want it done correctly . My advice: don't hire The Window Store unless you want them to wreck your yard and driveway, and leave you hanging out to dry, saying they aren't responsible for the damage. They tried to drive a 25-ton truck onto a lawn that had been rained/snowed on for weeks, in the process also causing portions of our driveway to collapse. But we signed a lawn damage waiver (didn't realize it also apparently applied to "total lawn decimation" along with driveway damage) so they can't be bothered. This has been an absolute nightmare and caused so much stress. I'll try to post photos with this review if I can figure out how to do it. If they try to sell you a new roof, RUN. read more

The office manager there should be fired. They don't answer phones, ghost you for months, and when they finally do the job, it's sh$&. They told us they'd discount the price, I paid them 90% which is more than they deserved after cracking our counter, scuffing up several molding pieces, forgetting pieces (like the dishwasher photo where they didn't even add a piece) and then drilling holes in the wrong door, not once but twice! They suck. Now they are saying we owe them money because we should've expected delays. It wasn't the delays although not being to use my kitchen for an entire month was unpleasant--it was there shitty performance and terrible customer service. The PM said they'd give us a discount but the office hag, Hailey refused. So the BBB and the state of MN have been notified. read more

We had all of our windows and sliding glass doors replaced by them. The initial sales person we met with did not have all of the samples with him to show us and did not have a good estimate of how long it would take to get supplies in to start the job. That being said we were not under a time constraint so it was not too big of a deal. We got occasional emails letting us know they were still working on making the custom windows. Then we finally got an email saying the job was scheduled. I called them to confirm this was correct and had to leave a voicemail. It took a few days for a return callback but they did confirm the email had the correct information. Just a little odd that we didn't get a call after over 2 months of waiting to tell us that the project was finally scheduled to start. We had Mike and Owen install our windows and they did an excellent job. They vacuumed the area and cleaned the windows after and were very considerate. The windows themselves are beautiful and easy to operate. They did a great job installing the new trim. In the end, we are very happy with the product and the work done. read more

I scheduled a consultation for our roof shingle replacement and when they called to confirm, the representative said that both myself and my partner had to be there. I said that's not possible since my husband works outside the home Monday-Friday with no flexibility to be home for a meeting. I said I can certainly meet with him and relay any information to my partner when he got home and he said that wasn't possible due to previous contractual issues. What century is this? If you have contractual issues working with just one homeowner, then change the language in your contracts to accommodate your business. You can't meet with me for a consultation without my husband present? Seriously, update your practices. read more

I have never been a fan of listening to a sales pitch, but after dealing with several cold Minnesota winters, drafty windows and a patio door that provided daily workouts to let the dog in and out-we decided to start listening to the pitchmen for our latest home improvement (WINDOWS). Steve was well versed on the product and explained the materials and other manufacturing details. He also explained the process of what was needed to complete the job, initial measurements, quotes and then follow up visits by the installing technician to ensure that our windows were custom built for the openings in our home. We could have stuck with windows that were much like our original, which for the most part we did, but we did decide to go with a "three lite slider" to get rid of a 6 inch wide post between two separate windows in our living room. The process was as advertised, and in the process, we received new smoke alarms in every room to ensure there were no hiccups when the inspectors visited after the work was done (code requires them now, so that saved my wife and I the head ache of buying them and installing). The windows have made a drastic difference in the noise from outside, and drafts are non-existent! We have already noticed a difference in how often our Air Conditioning cycles, I look forward to a much improved Winter experience too, no more cold drafts near the windows and more natural light into our living area than before. Great team, great product, great price and I'm looking forward to potentially working with them again for another project I have in mind, maybe siding in 2 years..hmm... We had the Window Store replace all 12 windows in our home. We decided to go with sliders instead of casement, and we are very pleased. It took about a week longer than were were quoted to get the windows, but once they arrived, we were scheduled right away. Charlie and his installation crew were friendly and very tolerant of our dogs, who barked every time they came in. They wore face coverings inside our home, and covered the floor and carpet to prevent damage. We had some wood that needed replacing due to water damage, and they fixed that, too. They were able to install all of the windows in a day and a half, and did a good job cleaning the yard up after the job was done. Everyone we dealt with was very pleasant and easy to work with. I have been getting ready for new windows to replace the 75-year-old original windows for our house. I've been putting away a portion of my personal paycheck per month for home improvements and it has grown to a nice repair fund. A Window Store person came for to door while I was away and my wife told them to call later when I was around. For possibly the next six months they called but each time I was away. Finally they got through just as we were deep into the summer of Covid-19 and lockdowns. The sales person was excellent and was well informed about their product points. But my wife can't stand sitting through sales pitches, and because this would be paid entirely from my personal (not ours) improvement fund she was peeved when the salesman insisted she attend through his pitch, going as far as to ask if there would be a better time for him to return when she would be available. I hauled her out against her will, all of us wearing our masks, and she visibly fought nodding off during the pitch. I wished I could have saved my wife from the ordeal. I hope the salesman didn't notice! He was really good stuff. Our windows finally came in for installation in November, luckily the day of install was relatively nice and we had come through a deep cold stretch that I normally would have already installed window insulator kits for. The installers were fantastic, understanding, and highly professional. The salesmen's praises of their installation crew was not oversold. They're the real deal. On installation day, with our entire family working from home and taking classes from home, we were able to work in our basement and my daughter did her remote school from the upstairs while all the main floor windows were replaced. On the first day the installers finished pulling in the new windows entirely and were done by 2 pm, returning the next day to install the outdoor trim. The finished product is what I hoped for. I asked for grid inserts, despite everyone in my family saying they're not as good as the old window's grid. My wife agrees with me that we could not tell there were inserts until getting up next to the window. I love the look and our cleaning will be easier now! These windows replace 75-year-old single pane windows. Now that we are just out of November, I can say that our window efficiency has gone way up. Holding our hands next to the glass on a 15° morning, we could not feel the cold, where as our old windows would have had frost on them and we would have felt leaks of air coming at the seems. The sale was great. Had a really long waiting period. Install was less than desirable. My window is bowed, and the trim didn't match before. I have a 1/2 in around the entire window frame that is uneven and unfinished. I had 3 service calls in and 2 weeks before getting a call back. I was then originally told that typically they paint the unfinished area. After 2 weeks since the service guy was out I had to call again for a leaking window. When the tech was out I asked about the trim, and was told it wasn't in my contract. I stated I was told the window was to match the previous window, so why would I have requested that. I would expect that should be something that they tell you to expect. A finished product it is not, horrible service and they don't stand by their work. If you use them you better hope you get lucky and they do it right. read more

My only problem is that when I needed to let them know we had a small issue, I called the number they provided in the email they sent me and they hung up on me before even greeting me. I called 3 times after that and got now answer. I sent an email to the contact asking for a review about my issue and the next contact was my awesome installer scheduling the fix visit. I have not had any interaction with the customer service personnel and didn't even get a curtesy call back. Had someone from the Window Store stop by my house in Burnsville promising to provide an estimate on redoing my roof at a reduced rate since they wanted to use the finished product for advertising purposes in the area. I agreed and set up some time for them to come over and discuss things further. **They rescheduled this twice on me because they were "understaffed" and when they called to reschedule a third time, I told them to forget it.** They tried talking up their reviews and social media presence (as if that stuff never gets faked nowadays), but the proof is in the pudding. They have a good rating on Google, but the reviews here seem more realistic. I'm not going to trust a company for something as big as redoing my roof if they can't even manage to get someone out to my house to give me a price. read more

In 2018, I purchased $28,000 worth of windows and a new front door. The products sold seemed on the cheaper side of windows I had purchased in the past but I went with the company because our sales woman, Kim, had guaranteed warranty coverage on breakage. She told me that even if our kids had kicked a ball through a window they would fix it. After purchasing windows from many companies in the past, I went with the Window Store because of this promise. I had a window crack overnight, for no apparent reason, and the "warranty for breakage" I was sold in 2018 is apparently not true. We spent over $28,000 on windows for our house because we were told that breakage would be covered "even if a ball went through it from our kids", only to find out breakage that occurred was not covered by our purchase. The company that produced the windows, Alside, indicated that we didn't have "breakage" on our warranty and the Window Store emailed me to tell me that they would not honor their sales warranty either, and then stopped answering the phone. I have held off lowering this rating on the company waiting for a reply or an answer on how I would go about fixing the window and there has been none. I am now considering what type of legal action I would be able to take due to this complete lack of service and dishonest business practice. The sales woman who promised the warranty mentioned above, Kim, is no longer with the company. In addition, the windows purchased have had other issues like plastic pieces that lock in the double hung's popping out over regular use. The service from this company had been good until there was a question of warranty coverage on what I was sold and since then they have completely flaked. Julian is the only name I have from the service department, he doesn't answer the phone, and there has been no other attempt to help me out. It's been three weeks now since I have been trying to work with The Window Store to fix the window that broke, and they have done absolutely nothing to cover it by the warranty they promised, fix it, or sell me a new one. They have completely left me hanging. There was no courtesy or reminder call the day before. Which would of been a opportunity for a good customer service. The work was marginal at best. There was trimming of re-facing product that left my Cupboards exiting paint chipped and obviously sanded. There was not any communication that this was part of the process. We had a pretty good experience with the Window Store overall. The sales process was a bit pushy in order to get the "discounted" price but overall I understand that it's a sales technique. Personally I would have preferred to have a few days to consider the purchase but I also understand their model sells more windows. That said, Steve was a nice guy and very personable. Once we bought the windows, the process was excellent. The follow up appointment to confirm measurements was quick for us. The order was placed and just as outlined, we got a call a few weeks later to schedule the install. The installer kept us informed as to when he'd arrive. The weather was sub-optimal that day as it was cold and rainy. It wasn't an issue though. Ron worked thru it and got the windows all installed. He ran out of time that evening and had to return to put the finishing touches on the next day but was in and out. The windows look great. The windows seem to be excellent quality. We've had decent weather since they were put in but I do expect them to be great in the winter. I would absolutely never work with or recommend The Window Store. A simple install of two windows. Our first two appointments were canceled the day of and the day before the install. The third appt they showed up 6 hours late and we were lied to the entire day why they were as late as they were. The day of the install they showed up with the windows but no casing or trim. 2 days after the install there was foam sticking out of the window on the outside. They were out a week later to fix this but the job itself was very sloppy. That day they also showed up with the casing and trim but three pieces were cut too small so they now need to come back again. After a week with no communication I have to ask when they will be back out only to be told they were unaware of the issue. Tried to schedule me for the 10 minute fix two weeks from now. If I had a do over I would. My headache starts with the guy going door to door. He says we'll get a good discount for using our home for advertisement. Next we get an appt set up for The Window Store to come and show their products. Next the salesperson Kim Fuhrmann calls to cancel appt and still shows up about an hour after the appt time to apologize she cancelled the appt. She then ask if she might still talk with us. My wife and didn't object but I really didn't want to deal with her then. Anyway she's here for about an hour or so. When Kim arrives for the schedule appt the following week. She shows us siding and window samples. Gives us a quote for around 43,000. We know we cant afford that amount at this time so shw quotes us for just the windows. The quote is around 11,400. I didn't want to sign anything paperwork and that I wanted to get more estimates. We had one from Anderson Renewal but wanted more estimates. She got upset and said the quote was only good as long as she was here. She said she would just give the discount to the next appt she had that night and began to pick up her sales materials. I again said I wasn't signing anything today. She continued with the attitude. She then told my wife and I to discuss the quote and went outside. My wife said to do it because .we needed windows, I sided with my wife and when Kim came back inside a agreed to the quote. After the 3 day cancellation clause on the sales agreement, a guy named Tom called to schedule a measurement. When he arrived he looked a couple of windows and said they would cost more. Then he asked about the trim work. I told I would probably finish the molding because we are painting and updating our home. Then he goes to out bedroom and that's when I find out the these window are just inserts. I didn't know what an insert was so when the wife got home I told her they were inserts. She said that's not what we were told. Both her and I assumed we were getting new windows and frames. Kim never said they were inserts, she just kept saying windows. Anyway I now I have signed a sales agreement and will accept my responsibility and pay for something I didn't realize I was actually receiving. Guess I should of read the agreement. My fault thats why I will pay for the windows. Next my wife receives a call from Kim wanting another 260 some dollars. Jolene told her no and any other contact talk to her husband. Kim calls me and I say we are not paying anymore. She tries to explain about the different type of window I needed. Told her I didn't care and wasn't paying anymore. She finally tells me she will pay the extra out of her pocket. I told her I didn't care it was her fault anyway for the added charges. She goes on to explain about her health issues which I really don't care about. She then says since I told Tom I would finish trim I had to sign a production change. This woman Kim Fuhrmann is a high pressure salesperson and just keeps talking in circles. Stay away for her forked tongue. I told her I'm not finishing the trim because it was her fault and I not paying or doing anything extra. Anyway she sends me a production change in the mail and it states that The Window Store will install buck and jamb on windows and I will do the trim. I returned the change with a letter stating I would only agree to the buck and jamb. Based on our sales agreement it says The Window Store has no "hidden cost" and the contract price includes "tax,labor,materials,cleanup,haul-a-way,permits and warranty. Back side of agreement says I understand there are no oral agreements". Nothing can be changed. Today I get a call for Kim Fuhrmann threating lawyers and court. I yelled at her and said just come put the windows in and we are done. She still says we cant do anything because I won't sign the production change. I told her to send it back with just the buck and jamb change and I would sign it. She said no, I told told Tom I would do it. I would of done it but not now. The Window Store employee Kim Fuhrmann miss led me. I am going to follow the sales agreement as it is written. So now I sit waiting for a summons from the court. As stated before I have no issue with honoring my sales agreement it just appears The Window Store does. read more

On social media you will find many good and bad reviews. Naturally, each and every person is entitled to their own opinion. In theory you will find many good reviews and there will be a handful of negative reviews. Rarely do you find reviews that are in between and these are the reviews that truly provide a little of both of the positive & negative opinion's. In the future, I would highly recommend that you look for the online reviews, that are the 3 & 4 star reviews, to get more of a feel of what was good & what was not perfect, with a customer's experience, with the Company that the customer chose to work with. There is a good reason that the customer chose to work with the Company that they are writing the review about. Being a consumer, you should be interested in hearing about the quality of the product and the service, that the Company provided. With all of the business that our Company does in a year, you could expect a handful of disgruntled & toxic customer review's. Remember that it would be normal for any Company to have a handful of customers that a feel like they have to post a negative review. This is not a perfect world and not all the customer's are the same. To have a few unhappy customer's would be normal, for we do millions of dollars of business, in a year. Just recommendation, do not judge the Company off of a handful of bad reviews. Give yourself an opportunity to be open minded and make your own judgement about who is trying to help you get your home improvement project started, learn about the quality, service and value for your dollar, that you would be getting from any Company. Don't miss out on an opportunity of working with a great Company, due to reading only a handful of social media reviews, that may be falsified to terribly hurt a personal individual or Company. I made the mistake of hiring The Window Store to replace 15 windows. Travis was a very good salesman, unfortunately that is the only positive I can give them. When the window installation was scheduled I was told five days, Paul arrived and completed the project way ahead of schedule. On the second day of install we noticed the lower trim on a completed window was falling down, when we lifted the trim it fell down again. We looked at the next window and our baseboard trim was smashed as well as a big mark and dent on our floor (Paul dropped a window). We continued looking at windows and found more and more defects from Paul's installation. When we brought these items forward, Paul explained to us he was not perfect and he makes mistakes. The next day he used some putty to attempt a repair on the trim that did not match and cracked in a day. He then removed a portion of our back splash that did not need to be removed, and discarded the tile so we can not repair. When we arrived home on the fourth day of installation our front door was propped open and installers were gone. When I called Travis and explained to him the mess he came several days later. He took video and several pictures. I called Hailey and she explained that Paul was their best installer and assured me it was not that bad. Paul indicated a little sheet rock repair was needed and a window had a cracked frame. After several weeks a sheet rock repairman called me, I explained to him the damages and he agreed it was past sheet rock repair. When i called again to complain, Paul showed up attempted some minor repairs and said a few shims were needed. When I received a past due notice I called Hailey. Tom was next he attempted some minor repairs and informed me that every window installed had issues. After several months a received a mechanical lien notice. Hailey would no longer take my calls and I spoke with Orin. Orin agreed to inspect our home. He took multiple pictures and first hand got to see our damage and horrific install. Within a week we received a letter from Tyler Gamz offering to shim only the windows that needed shims, replace only one of the cracked/damaged frames repair sheet rock and paint repaired area only. We did not agree as every window was crooked, did not address any of the damages they caused, the paint would not match causing us to have to paint our entire home. Tyler Gamz then hired an attorney. We informed the attorney we were going to report to the Department of Labor and Industry and the BBB. The attorney had no concerns with and encouraged this, we were informed if we share our experience he would file a lawsuit. We filed a complaint with Labor and Industry, Labor and Industry requested an inspection and we complied. The Window Store failed to request a mid inspection as required by the city. The inspection failed as the quality was horrific. The Department of Labor after viewing the failed inspections and damages, furnished us The Window Stores insurance information. The total damages were over $46,000.00. The Window Stores insurance has agreed to settlement, however deducted for depreciation. They have started doing repairs with the Help of the Department of Labor and Industry. in September of 2022 it will be a year that we have endured this awful experience. They have started to level window and our finding no shims or over shimmed and all windows are crooked. Tyler Gamz and Julian are attempting to blame us for this. This is based on we wont let them in our home, yet Julian assures they know what to do as we have been in your home been four times after the install. We ask for a scope of work and they send back the first proposal that does not address the failed inspection items. We ask for an updated proposal with punch list from failed inspection. Julian always tells us we know what to do and we are to blame for not allowing us to come back. We always ask why do you need to come back? Why not do it right the first time? What about all the damages? When they arrived last time they insisted we sign the proposal releasing them of liability we said "NO", they informed us they could not do any work. The made a phone call to Tom and started repairs. Julian asked for one day and we agreed on a Friday. We were very confident it was not near enough time, however they are the professionals and know? They left that Friday without being near completed. The following Wednesday Julian reached out and said we need more time. It was confirmed that several of the windows were not secured properly (causing windows to sag), no shims or over shimmed, and not level. Julian assure us when we make final payment all of these items will be addressed, for know the window store is saying just get it good enough to pass inspection. When I read that I was sick to my stomach. I will be filling a claim with the BBB for the depreciation costs. read more

We had 22 cabinets refaced by the Window Store in St. Anthony 7 months ago in our home (Oct) to the tune of $16,000. The 4th cabinet door fell off its hinges today. We spent a lot of time researching reputable companies to reface our kitchen. The pushy Window Store salesmen sold us the $16,000 of kitchen cabinets refacing with a "lifetime warranty", which I have in hand. The workmanship doesn't last more then 7 months.. No response from the company despite 3 emails and two phone calls so far. Buyer beware. Their reviews would lead you to think they have a solid product. I wish they did. This is for The Window Store (not sure why this company has multiple company names, kind of a yellow flag) -but I will say that the guys who did the actual work salvaged a nerve-wracking experience, and that's where it counts. The sales guy was over-the-top slick with his powerpoint and samples and binder full of testimonials. As others have pointed out, there's a TON of pressure to sign on-the-spot and hand over a deposit - seems like the business model is to overprice the 'regular' and then try and seduce you with 'discount' levels. We decided to go with the advertising discount because we needed new windows and the product he demo'd looked like a good product (Walsh windows, out of Duluth). But we were VERY apprehensive about what kind of followup we'd get after that hype-y sales job. The experience improved considerably when Tom came to do the final measurements - I was impressed to see that he measured everything 3 or more times. Quick, courteous and thorough. Then about 5 weeks of suspense and Bob called to schedule the install. I was still a bit nervous, but he and his assistant (Terry?) were efficient and thorough. All the windows fit and went in smoothly. These guys know what they're doing, and Phil, who came the next day to finish out the exterior trim, was equally conscientious. If I could rate the sales experience separately--it would be 1 star--and the installation gets a 4 to 5. Averages out to 3 stars (which in Yelp is still "AOK"). read more

After having several other "providers" come to our home for various otherr projects (new flooring, new windows, plumbing etc.) our experience with the Window Store was one of the best. We signed up for a consult at the Home and Garden show, they followed up with a phone call to set up an appointment in a timely manner. Mike the sales represenative showed up promptly and was "NOT PUSHY" he had a lot of knowledge about ideas that would work in our 'older kitchen' and about the product he was selling and the company he respresented. He was available by phone the following week to answer follow up questions. Next a person came to measure the kitchen, he did miss one obstable that could have caused a delay once construction started but our installer, Jim was able to remedy the issue himself! The best part of our experience was the installer Jim. G. he arrived promptly at 8:00 everyday (you could set your clock by him), he was professional and respectful our us, our home and our comfort during the whole process. He was extremely knowledgeable about what he was doing and you could tell he took pride in doing a good job. He explained everything that was happening or was going to happen during the week. He explained the product to us, and always consulted with us about even small decisions to be made during the process. When he was finished at the end of the day he left our kitchen clean and useable for the evening! The only caution I would add is we talked with 4 different people in the process, the represenative at the Home and Garden Show, the sales represenative, the guy that came to measure and draw up the final plans and the installer. Sometimes the information one person gave us was not always passed down to the next person. If we were to do it again we'd write down all the information each person gave us sign and date. We had our kitchen doors replaced and our kitchen cabinets all resurfaced. We also had a bookcase in the mantle in the living room re-done in the same colors. They did a great job they were on time, and they finished on time we had him replace oak with cherrywood ,everything looks great. We would highly recommend this company. Glad we will not be dealing with this company beyond our first appointment. An alert went off when the gentleman who initially called us, asked for the wrong person when confirming our free quote appt & then the sales lady, Lisa, showed up late with no apology. When we sat down the first question she asked my husband, who picked up his phone was "do you need to take that call right now?" I explained we were not initiating/ receiving a call, but have our notes, questions & siding pics on our phone & also I would look for a video on my phone to entertain our 20 month old before we began the consult. We had been very patient, and initially so was Lisa, with having two young children around who eventually ended up having delayed lunch & nap time. At one point, we stopped asking subject appropriate questions or we would say "whatever you recommend" bc we would get long non-answers from Lisa or she would say things like "I don't understand your confusion, let me explain again" or "i'll get to that later, is there a reason why you need to know that right now?" When I asked questions about adding a product like shutters or a patio door her response was-"that's not gonna happen. Why would you want to do that? do you wanna throw away your money?" With my "what if" questions concerning warranties or products, I admitted I knew nothing about as I have never worked with a contractor before, I got answers like "that doesn't make sense, it doesn't apply" or "at some point after 3 hours you have to trust me" and went on to suggested she a certain order of do things so "lets get back on track." Despite all this, we persevered & sat through an almost 4 hour condescending sales pitch before FINALLY getting to "the more affordable" quote for our home's siding, amounting to almost $40K!!! When my husband said $40K was not cost effective for our situation or even most likely half that amount, Lisa began packing up her things accusing us of being upset & asking her to leave. We were suppose to get a discounted quote for being a advertising /model home & was very interested in this "significant, not free but very pleasing discount" (per Cory and Craig) so when I asked if Lisa would at least email this discounted quote since we had sat with her for over 3 hours, she responded "no-if one of you isn't in this, it's a no! He (as in my husband) is done. I don't have to take this" and proceed to leave. We did not feel as though this was a free quote appointment but rather a 3.5 hour session of feeling degraded for asking questions that "made no sense." Throughout enduring these types of responses from Lisa, we were shocked that Lisa was offended when my husband was upfront and stated we would not pay 40k or any amount close to that and again accused my husband of telling her to leave three times, which did not occur. Our biggest regret is that we did not actually ask Lisa to leave 3.5 hours earlier!!! Completely unpleasant interaction with this Window Store representative.. Don't waste your time!!! read more

Overall I think this is a good company and good product. Upon the initial door to door sales person, I had informed him that I wasn't looking to install until next year. He said it was OK, and they just wanted to come out for an estimate. The sales person was very helpful in explaining everything and talking through my options. I was disappointed with the "this discount is only valid today while I'm here" line. Sounds like it's a standard sales pitch they do. I should have done more research prior to the estimate. I agreed and needed to pay a 25% down payment at that time. I could also finance through them, but that would add additional cost onto the total payment. Upon the final install scheduling, I was told they weren't able to put all of the amount on my card as they only bill $5K on credit per customer per install. It would have been nice to know of the limitations with their financing prior to signing. There was no mention of it in the paperwork I had signed. I didn't truly understand what window inserts would entail. I replaced 5 separate window sections for 2 double hung and one picture window. Due to the reconfiguration of the window layout, they didn't leave any space for blinds inside framing. If they had pushed the windows back to allow for blinds space, there would have been gaps in the frame from the previous windows. I will now have to install blinds on the trim. Which I am not thrilled about. The other windows they installed look great and I was able to re-install the previous blinds. The installation team was very quick and professional. I don't have much experience with home remodeling. But my advise is to do your homework before. Get multiple quotes, research the company, and make sure to get what you are paying for. The Window Store is a fine choice. Overall I am happy with my decision. But if you find a better deal or better option then, by all means, go with them. read more

I went to the Lakeville Home Improvement Show specifically to look for vendors who do cabinet refacing. My husband and I are already familiar with the process and were ready for a bid/consultation. I signed up to receive a call and then ended up calling them the day after the show as I have other projects happening and also have a number of contractors lined up to give us bids (ranging from painting our cabinets, to another refacing company to custom cabinets). On the phone (Jim) it was odd as they asked me if there was another home owner, etc. I did share that yes there was but that he was busy caring for his mother who at the time was in the hospital. After a lot of push back on when they would come for the bid and strongly stating he needed to be there, we landed on a Saturday appointment as I thought it would be 90% that he would be there but depending on her status may not be able to be there. I just got a call ( 4 days later and two days before our appt.) stating that my husband needed to be there or we should push it out or cancel. What?!?!?! I went to the home show by myself and am certainly empowered to get a bid. I really pushed back on Craig, who was super argumentative and he said people "puff their chests" all the time but in the end aren't able to make decisions without their spouses, so the owners policy is that they can't come out unless we are both there. I told him this was starting to feel like a timeshare presentation where we were going to get a high pressure pitch to sign on the dotted line that day. He said yes, any company would want a decision. I shared with him that we have a 2nd refacing company coming Tuesday, so I assured him we would not be making a decision on Saturday but I was clearly capable of getting a estimate (which is what they claim to offer, free estimates). He apologized, for needing to cancel due to the owners policy and they will not be coming to give us the estimate. He did try to tell me that each door would run between $350-$500 so for those of you wondering what they charge, there you go. Good luck to the Window Store, your antics are disgusting! If you want a high pressure low class company doing your work, call the Window Store, if not, you may want to run the other direction! read more
