After sharing our experience with other contractors & employees of Home Depot (just to ensure our dissatisfaction was warranted) they recommend we make our negative experience public so others don't go through the same thing. After researching on Home Advisor & seeing many positive reviews we decided to hire Sunflake Electrical to perform some basic electrical work around our home. · Main issues: o Exhaust Fan - installed but the hole was cut too large for the new fan. The electrician admitted to cutting a hole despite strategically purchasing the new fan based on existing opening size. o Kitchen Light - we did not purchase the correct light in advance & told the electrician not to proceed with installation. While at Home Depot getting other supplies he proceeded to install a non-approved light fixture, leaving us with an off centered light fixture. As the icing on the cake, we are also left with a jagged opening next to the off centered light fixture we did not choose. o Lastly, if the installation of other services would have gone smoothly, it would have also been easier to look past the mess we were left to clean up. · We shared the photos with the owner and he felt the electrical work had been done properly, and would be happy with the work in his own home. SEE PHOTOS. · We gave the owner multiple opportunities to "make this right" but his solution was for us to pay another one of his employees a flat rate of $250 to fix the two jagged holes. We are left with a jaded outlook on anyone coming to our home to complete repairs. Bottom line, avoid Sunflake Electrical! ADDITIONAL CONTEXT BASED ON OWNERS RESPONSE: Sunflake Owner: "Once the fan was completed, our electrician cleaned up the drop cloth that he had initially laid out and began cleaning the bathroom. The husband said he could clean the rest, so we proceeded to start the installation of the light." Response: Yes, the electrician laid a drop cloth on our bathroom floor that partially covered the floor (not the sink, vanity, toilet, etc.), and yes I offered to clean up the mess - the reason being, at this point the job had already taken longer than expected, and this was a matter of cost-savings. When replacing the kitchen light fixture, no drop cloth was used, and I was worried about all the debris falling into our garbage disposal, which luckily did not stop our garbage disposal from functioning properly. Sunflake Owner: "The customer asked to provide their own parts. We are totally fine with that at Sunflake." "If it had been a mistake on our part, we would have fixed the drywall no questions asked." Response: We are first time home owners, leaning on what we thought would be competent, trusted professionals to guide us in the right direction - not to receive an unfinished job and then be blamed for "our shortcomings." My wife ran to Home Depot mid-service to get additional parts for the duct work. The existing fan was already removed. She reviewed the previously purchased fan with the electrician at the start of the appointment but could have easily purchased another fan before installation. The light fixture installed was provided by Sunflake, because our two attempts to purchase something that work failed. My wife instructed the electrician to rehang the old fixture but he proceeded to install a light fixture he had on hand - which the owner also blames us for. Sunflake Owner: "Hopefully an intelligent consumer realizes the excellent value they received on this job and gives us a chance to earn their business." Response: The icing on the cake... not only does Sunflake Electrical perform an unfinished job, the owner then insults a paying customer by more or less calling us unintelligent. I truly hope that others steer clear of Sunflake Electrical, don't believe their higher ratings you see out on the internet.

DO NOT BUY A HOUSE RENOVATED BY THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more My wife and I purchased a home that was remodeled and sold by Top Quality Homes, LLC. Items were repaired poorly resulting in over $3K spent to fix. We closed on the house on 08/27/2014 and moved in on 08/30/2014. Items were required by the city of Brooklyn Center, MN to be completed which the company never did resulting in the cost and labor being dropped on us when we closed on the home, none of which were disclosed by the seller prior to closing, which the seller did not even attend. (sent a representative) The first weekend in the house, the following repairs were required by HVAC and plumbing professionals as well as repairs made by myself. Repair of gas leak at gas range connection which was installed improperly by the seller. ($60.00 parts) No vent installed for dryer hookup and was not covered by home warranty. A licensed HVAC specialist installed this at a cost of $1,175.00. The furnace had a faulty condensing coil and corroded panels which all had to be replaced at a cost of roughly $1,700.00. Luckily this was covered under our 1 year home warranty but we had to pay $95.00 for the service technician to come out and evaluate the repairs needed. The seller was also required by the City of Brooklyn Center to remove two 30 ft dead evergreen trees which they neglected to do which resulted in 5 hours of labor to remove them myself as well as the $10.00 for the bow saw. We also had a plumbing leak that had to be replaced which cost $360.00 by a licensed plumber as well as a faulty newly installed bath tub faucet that had to be entirely replaced at a cost of $76.00. Also many of the contractually agreed upon repairs were not completed until two days after closing which is unacceptable. They had over one month to make the needed repairs which they signed an agreement to but failed to meet the deadline and the work was all done very sloppily. The gas leak could have cost the lives of my wife and I, as well as our pet and two unborn twins due to carbon monoxide poisoning. All in all the total amount of out of pocket repairs (not including those covered by warranty) are in excess of $1,500.00. In addition, Top Quality Homes is in violation of Brooklyn Center City codes. They did not mow the lawn resulting in the city completing and charging them, trees were not removed, building material waste were dumped in the backyard and not removed, and an HVAC inspection was not completed prior to closing on the house resulting in the $1,700.00 in repairs. We are seeking a reimbursement of these costs, which are a direct result of the negligence and poor quality of work, and lack of concern for us their customers (us). Top Quality Homes, LLC should be held responsible and liable for their blatant disregard for consumer safety.
