Remarkable. They came on time, worked quickly and efficiently. Took down some trees that were starting to interfere with wires over the driveway to the house (Central Hudson does not do these....only those along the road) and they removed tree branches that we blocking air flow so I kept getting mold on siding. I called them and left a message. Rich called back later that day. He stopped by the next day, gave me an estimate to remove three trees. We set up a day the following week to do the work. They showed up on time. A five man crew with plenty of equipment. He explained what they would do and how long it would take. They were very efficient and finished early.They removed all the wood (I didnt want it) ground the stumps and cleaned up the wood chips from the stump removal. We had three trees, all over 100ft tall, that needed to come down before the winter. Too close to the house and garage and one was leaning towards the road. Richie came out the same day I called him and gave us a quote that was so reasonable that we said let's start. Firewood delivered as promised. Shortly after I left a message with the wood shop, literally 2 mins later, my phone rings. It was Rich returning my call. I was surprised as to how quick my call was returned. I asked for one cord of wood delivered to my address. He was in my driveway at the time he said he would be. Prompt! Again, I was surprised. As the wood was rolling out of the dump bed, I can hear the clanging of the wood splits. That certain noise you only achieve with properly seasoned wood. As stated, it is fully seasoned. As it clearly was. Just so happens the evening of the delivery we are reaching the low 20's. What great timing to get this load of firewood. Thank you Rich! Rich returned my call on the same day and even stopped at my home on that day to discuss the project. He quoted me a price and put me on his schedule. A tree fell across both of our cars which were parked in our driveway. My husband called Wood Shop Tree Service and reached Rich. Rich and his assistant came to our house within an hour and assessed the job. They returned soon thereafter with the proper tree removal equipment. Let me start by saying that i was not the paying customer, just the neighbor of a paying customer. I personally would never use this company. i have been in the caretaking/landscaping business for 30 years and 1 thing this jerk never taught his guys is "leave the yard the way you found it". He dropped the neighbor's tree in MY yard and never cleaned up after himself. He did remove the tree but he never moved the toys back, he never seeded the area of grass he destroyed, he didn't even clean up the mess from chipping, just blew it in MY yard. this is not a good way to make new customers, i did mention that it was my NEIGHBOR having the work done. Trust me, if you want a job well done, don't call this fly by night outfit, call a professional. Acorn tree service or Tree Top tree service may cost more but will do a more professional job and "will leave your yard the way they found it". when i come home from a hard day of work i shouldn't be able to tell that the neighbor had tree work done because MY yard is destroyed and left a mess. read more

Rich cam with the guys as scheduled and on time. I have been a Customer for many years, and always satisfied with his service. Today he removed a very tall dead tree that was leaning dangerously and with no issue. Very poor service, was supposed to cable tree back, used insufficient materials (rusty old cable and inadequate eyebolts) and of course failed, they promised to come back, then saw them at neighbors and they promised again. Came home from work and in the course of working at neighbors house scratched up my truck, threw wood chips all over my yard, and other misc. damage. I called them and they responded like what I had to say didn't matter. So, the "guaranteed" cable in my tree is still broken almost a year later after multiple reminders. I'd like to add that when they originally quoted me on the complete job (I had them take down multiple trees) the quote went from $1500, to $1800. the day they did the work. Very with Rich do not do busy with him run don't walk he makes lots of excuses and lies. First he told me he had no firewood and funny all of a sudden he had it.. if you don't want to do business with someone you should just tell them no thank you instead of screwing them out of their money .I have done business with him in the past taking down some trees and thought he was a nice man .To my mistake was thinking he was a good guy. I would never do business with this man again. I am a single mother of two young men with special needs I used firewood to help heat my home to keep the cost of oil down. It's awful waking up to a cold house. I called Rich we talked about a price I asked if he could do better and he said he'd call me back and never call me back. I called him back again and we worked out a deal To get thr wood there was always one Excuse after another. I stayed home waiting for him and never showed up finally after 3 weeks he said he was bringing the wood I ordered 3 chords and paid him.. I had someone come that knows wood to stacked it for me he looked at it and said sorry but half this would will not burn you'll get no heat out of it. As I've been burning the wood that's exactly what's been happening put it in at 6:15 in the morning and 8 am It's just Smoking. I texted Rich and told him what was happening and the answer I received back was I am burning same wooden had no problem.. I sent a photo and no answer I asked for my money back or something and no answer.. pretty sad when you take advantage of a single mother with children with disabilities. Rich is a liar and full of non sense excuses. Easily the worst contractor i have had the misfortune of dealing with. I called rich for an estimate on removing a tree and grinding the stump and he came out a few hours later which impressed me so i told him we would do it. I ASKED ON THE SPOT so there was no confusion do you do this on the weekends? He said yes. We where given a date 2 weeks out for the job to be completed. I even called rich 48 hours before the date to confirm if he was coming. He said yes I'm definitely coming. So the day arrived and rich doesn't show nor call till 2 hours past the scheduled time.. i was upset when i finally heard he wasn't coming but shit does happen and he said he was backed up because the month of rain. But oddly the rain wasn't an issue 48hrs prior when we spoke on the phone?? Anyway he said he would call that following week, he never did i had to chase him. Again he said the rain and he would come the following week. Guess what!! No call!! No Show!! the following week. So i call him again and he uses the usual excuse bla bla bla the rain the rain ill call you next week. I guess his phone dosen't work in the rain cause all he had to do this whole time was call me.Same story next week except this time he tells me he doesn't like to cut trees on the weekends just deliver wood. At this point i gave up with him cause it was turning into a joke. I'm a reasonable guy and if he didn't want the job he could have just said that at anytime and we would have been done and not have went thru all this nonsense and wind up here on yelp. Steer clear of this buisness waste of your time and his phone dosen't work in the rain. read more

My wife and I had the Wood Shop remove two large trees from the hill behind our house in Newburgh, NY. After they had finished and left, we called Rich to complain that a stump had been left behind, and our lawn was more torn up than we had expected. Rich said that he hadn't seen the stump or been aware of any dissatisfaction on our part when the job had been finished. He then expressed his dedication to customer satisfaction and promised to make things right. The next day, he and his crew came back, removed the stump, leveled and re-seeded the yard and cleaned up after themselves so that the property looked better than before they came the first time.
