Open boxes of supplies were sitting all over - in the lobby, the hallway, at the nurses station. We had a 2:00 appointment, but we waited 2 hours to talk to a nurse. Meanwhile one patient's "device" became dislodged, and he was shouting from the other end of the corridor that he was in pain. In the smoking area outside someone fell out of their wheelchair and other patients were going up and down the hall shouting to have someone come and pick her up. There was no non-smoking outside area for my sun loving mother to go to. Hospice provided her medications for the entire stay at the beginning of the program. The hospice nurse went over the medications and when to administer them. I filled out paperwork with the admissions office and the business office making it clear that she would be staying 10 days, and what level of care she needed. While I was there, I noticed their monthly charges on the wall, which were $3000 more per month than friends pay for good quality care in other facilities. On the 4th day, I got a call that my mother had fallen in the bathroom and had a bump on her head and a small cut on her elbow. I was later told that the facility staff picked her up, removed the jacket she had been wearing so it could be laundered, and put her to bed without cleaning the cut. Hospice personnel dressed the wound and replaced the bloody sheets on the bed. The jacket then disappeared for 4 days. On the 6th day, I got a call asking if she was staying there or going home, when she was going home and where she was going. I don't know what happened to the paperwork I had filled out. At some point her medications, which were all in order and paid for, disappeared. They ordered new medications from their own pharmacy and sent us a bill for them. And they did not get the prescriptions right. They did not give her the prescribed diuretic and when she had trouble breathing they dosed her with morphine and put her to bed. She spent a great deal of her time there drugged and in bed, when she had been quite active before. When it was time for her to come home they could not find her wheelchair, which had been clearly marked with her name, or the oxygen concentrator the equipment provider had delivered. They put her in a wheelchair that they told the transportation person he had to bring back. I told him and them that we would get their wheelchair back to them when they returned ours. She was almost comatose the first two days she was home and fortunately does not remember much of the experience. The wound on her arm was weeping and the bandage was dirty. It was a different dressing than the hospice nurse had put on. She would not have survived if the hospice aide had not stopped by every evening on her own time, gotten her out of bed, cleaned her up, eaten dinner with her and put her to bed.

My loved one would've been better off on their own than this poor excuse for a rehab. My loved one suffered GREATLY and is TRAUMATIZED by this disgusting excuse for a facility. I will CONTINUE to tell anyone who will listen that this facility and any other Genesis property is dangerous and should not be an option for anyone who values life.

If I hadn't moved him to this Beehive he probably wouldn't have lasted another 2 days. He arrived to his private room at the Beehive in the mid afternoon and by dinner time he was actually eating homemade soup and 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich. This was amazing to all because he had pretty much stopped eating prior to arriving. My brother constantly raved about Betty's home cooking. The staff was very attentive to my brother with all of his needs such as bathing, changing his brief promptly and making sure he had everything he needed. The entire place including residents rooms and common areas were kept clean and spotless at all time. There was never any odors as it always smelled clean and fresh. I really want to thank everyone at Beehive, Jayne, Sarah, Barbara, Betty and all the staff their that made my brother feel so special with their kindness and above and beyond care. I give much credit to the Beehive and my brother's physical therapist for my brother being able to no longer need hospice after only 4 months at Beehive and be able to move to a new assisted living where he has his own apartment and takes care of himself now. It is extremely rare that anyone graduates hospice. Thank you Beehive!

She had everyone doing simple, but interesting activities to get legs and arms moving while seated in chairs or wheelchairs. The place was very clean and my friend had a small, but functional room that was just perfect for what she needed. From the maintenance staff, cleaning staff, the chef at the cafe, activity coordinator, everyone knew my mom by name, were so friendly and helpful. As I live states away, seeing what a nice community she is living in really gives me a feeling of peace to know that she has so many kind people who are truly looking out for her.

I've often visited on varying days of the week and at varying times and the level of care is always very good. They have many core staff members that have been there for the entire time (and longer) that my mother has been in their care. The current Executive Director has been in her current position longer than any other ED at this facility and has all of the staff and residents concerns at heart. The consistency, the cleanliness, the care, the food are all at the highest benchmarks in the industry. They also engage the residents in many activities from group exercises to arts and crafts to singalongs. A few of the employees sat out front smoking or snacking. The nurses said they would be taking my mother outside and into the lunch room. I called he daily and was disconnected more than once. In all when I picked her up she was not in her own clothing , had a rash, had diarrhea and was dehydrated.None of the snacks I left for her were given. They put her on a Barbiturate. I think half of the staff is using drugs. I feel for the nurses that are working there who are actually trying to do their job. Should be shutdown !
