He couldn't have done a better job helping me through a very tough time. Attorney Martocchio was exceptional and so was his staff. He and his staff returned every email and phone call. Attorney Martocchio seems never to rest. He called me at the end of the day to make sure I fully understood what was getting done. Unfortunately I've been having health issues and I needed to go on disability. Having limited mobility Attorney Martocchio goes out of his way to visit me when paperwork needs to be signed. Not only is Attorney Martocchio one of the most knowledgeable attorneys but he has respect for others. I wish I could give him more than 5 Stars. My wife and I got rear ended, and I sustained the most injury due to a prior injury years ago. I had to put off my recommended surgery due to my responsibilities to my father who was very sick, and after my father passed my wife needed the same care, because she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer shortly after he passed. They both needed care 24/7 and I did not want to put anyone in a home. I left my job to care for my family, because it was the right thing to do, and they were ok with that. Everyone was on the same page, and I have no regrets, and would do it again. When my wife passed in October of last year, this broke me. I called Bill Beckert to advise and told him that I was going to finally schedule my surgery now that I had nothing holding me back anymore, and after saying those same old cliches " I am so sorry" " Your in my thoughts" etc. advised me on what to do, and I started to do what he advised. Then I questioned him on something that happened with my wife, and he didn't like it, because I called him out for his negligence, and he made every excuse in the book on why what happened, however I gave him a pass, because my wife just passed, and I had my hands full as it is. What does he do not even a week later, he sends me a certified letter saying he is withdrawing from the case, and said he would forward all my paperwork to the attorney that I hire moving forward. All because I called him out for his negligence in reference to an offer made to my wife by the insurance company. He knew I just lost my wife, and this is what you do. The letter I sent them in return was not nice, and I have no regrets. How do you do this to someone who just lost his wife, is grieving and now needs help. This should raise a RED flag to everyone. Here's what happened that triggered this. My wife received a call from the Insurance company, and they made her an offer to settle her claim She didn't feel comfortable talking to them so she called me, and I then called Bill to advise and for his guidance. He said he needed paperwork, and we forwarded him the paperwork, and then he calls her at work. She got confused and frustrated so she just dropped everything and we lost the offer made to her. If Bill just made a simple phone call they could have discussed the offer and came to terms. All I did was question him on this, and he didn't like it. What he did by sending me that certified letter it just speaks volumes, about him and this firm. You would think they would just do the right thing knowing they screwed up, and were given a pass. Don't make the same mistake I made. Go with someone who actually cares about you, and your interests. What Bill did was to cover his ass, because he knows he messed up.

The case went to mediation to "change the verbiage of the will". (Really?) Mr Hickey did not go to this mediation. Long story short, we ended up settling. What we settled for was exactly what my in-laws offered me before I retained Mr Hickey, PLUS his fees which were not cheap. We were not represented as far as I'm concerned. It actually cost me more to hire Mr. Hickey than it would have cost me if I didn't hire a lawyer.

Houlihan agreed the budget foreshadowed by the Business Broker was reasonable, barring unforeseeable problems. Houlihan (in my opinion) did not do his job; I had to satisfy myself the UCC filings were unrelated / unenforceable and discovered Houlihan didn't have enough sense to check with the Town of Brookfield to ensure taxes were paid in full prior t closing. The earnest ($10,000) money (we ended up closing without this attorney's involvement) ended up divided between Houlihan and Seller, etc., because it was less costly (more attorney fees) to walk away from $10,000+\- than play the game and litigate...
