The Writing King began in 2013 when Richard Lowe left a 33-year career in information technology, including 20 years as Director of Computer Operations at Trader Joe's, to become a professional writer and ghostwriter. What started as a single ghostwriting project quickly became a full practice. Over 13 years, Richard has authored 113+ books under his own name and ghostwritten 54+ for clients, spanning memoirs, business books, leadership, technology, and fiction. The practice is built on a collaborative approach: working closely with each client from the first interview to the finished manuscript, capturing their voice so the book reads as if they wrote it themselves.
Meet the Business Owner: Richard G.
After spending 33 years in the computer and information technology industry, Richard took an early retirement to pursue his dream of becoming a professional writer and published author. He was a leader in the tech industry, serving as Vice President of Consulting at Software Techniques and Beck Computer Systems before becoming Director of Computer Operations at Trader Joe's. During his 20-year tenure there, he focused on computer security and disaster preparedness. Today Richard is a professional ghostwriter with 113+ books authored under his own name and 54+ ghostwritten for clients across 13 years of practice. His work spans memoirs, business books, and novels. Because of his deep background in software management and computer security, he has ghostwritten a number of major books in the technology and leadership space.
