It's a living tribute to a great Kansan. For starters, just get a gander at the big Missouri River just across the street. Imagine growing up with that view and access! Drop your $15, or whatever level you're at, and enjoy browsing the history. The preservation of original artifacts coupled with Earhart memorabilia makes for an extremely interesting walk back in time. The preservation of the dining room is sensational, with outstanding stained glass facing just northeast. As you meander through the various rooms, you are struck by how curious Amelia Earhart appears to have been at such a young age! Whether it was her literary exposure, fascinations with flight, or mild departure from other feminine constructs, Amelia was special from the jump. The museum is easy to navigate and generally accessible. Parking is easy, the gift shop is nice, and the staff is friendly and loves to help answer any questions. Amelia was a national celebrity, a pioneer in aviation, and maybe most importantly, a significant figure in gender equality. Learn her story, bask in her roots, and celebrate a great Kansan and woman whose disappearance leaves us all wondering the what ifs.

We drove my in laws the 1.25 hours to the museum and learned so much about Amelia Earhart. There was so much information I didn't know. My in laws were so impressed with the setup and how the museum is laid out. If you have kids, I definitely recommend! While there isn't a whole lot right around the museum, it's worth the visit to learn more about KS native. If you're coming from OP, we drove home through Weston to grab lunch and it turned out to be the perfect day trip.

We drove about hour and a half from downtown KC to get here. The museum is a beautiful modern building with lots of parking spots in front. Super clean and well maintained. At the entrance hall, they have the reception (to purchase tickets), the gift shop and a small open theater where a video of Amelia plays on loop. The inside hall of the museum is so stunning. First of all there's an exact model of the aircraft Amelia flew to cross the Atlantic. There are also sections dedicated to Amelia's life and her achievements. There are also display of diesel engine and modern turbo engine, a tiny cockpit to simulate flying, and a small auditorium that played movie about aviation. A smaller upper level corner also had display of Amelia's tools, her diary and a section about her disappearance. We had an amazing experience, spending over an hour at the museum. The staff members were knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting stories and facts about Amelia during the visit. The gift shop had lots limited editions items such as compass and coins. I bought a few of them as souvenirs. The restrooms at the facility are also very clean.

You offered to book a shithole of a place in replace of the villa. That was over an hour away. I did not enter the villa. I double checked on the new website and we were still on there until magically we weren't. You're fucking disgusting

The next six, yes, SIX HOURS were spent hiking in a cemetery during a heat advisory, trespassing on private property, parking in front of houses Steve said were DEFINITELY haunted (It was dark, btw. Couldn't see anything) and traipsing around in a "haunted" house that was structurally unsound. Steve kept saying everything was cool bc he's in the Chamber of Commerce. He's not. The tour was supposed to be a birthday surprise for me and wound up being one of the worst days of my life. Run. Run FAST.

Sound and picture were great. The seating, carpet, paint all looked brand new. Very clean and fresh. Popcorn was good. You add your own salt and butter. Small was pretty small but it was a good size for us. Drinks were Pepsi products and the smallest size was a medium. Tickets were on sale inside so we bought tickets and snacks together. Service was excellent. Great stop!

Backwoods 222 I…read moreattended a wedding at Backwoods 222 in Gower, Missouri, and the event space is very nice. It has two bedrooms upstairs that can be used for a his-and-hers setup or for people staying for a weekend event or conference. There are breakout rooms without doors and some rooms downstairs with curtains. The kitchen has a freezer, refrigerator, double sink, microwave, and large trash cans. I can't remember if there was a stove. The building has three levels and was built in 1863--it used to be a museum. It's about five miles west of Gower and 15 miles from Trimble. I attended on November 21st when it was cold and rainy, so we couldn't use the patio, but pictures show it's beautiful. The bathrooms really impressed me--clean floors, clean toilets, and well kept. Aimee was onsite most of the event, and she was very helpful. She emptied the trash before leaving and was very compassionate and concerned about the guests. What stood out were the handwritten ICE (In Case of Emergency) signs posted around the venue with the address and directions to give police or emergency services. She also had Kleenex and hand sanitizer everywhere. I can tell she loves her place and keeps it very clean. She also has a room full of decor like vases, centerpieces, "bride and groom" items, and things for events. I live in Raymore, Missouri, and it was worth the drive. I would highly recommend Backwoods 222.
