It was situated on a very quiet and private property. The cabin was spacious and pristine!! The wood interiors makes you feel like you are staying in a hunters cabin with modern updates. Everything Is brand new, with satellite cable, fully equipped kitchen w/ new appliances, dishes, silverware. The living room is open to the kitchen with a love seat and a couch, enough room to put an air mattress. There's a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. Upstairs has 5 twin beds, a queen, and plenty of room for an air mattress or two. There was A/C but even on a hot summer day, the open windows created a nice fresh breeze. Bathroom was stocked with fresh towels for our stay. The lodge was also very comfortable. Large screen TV in a living room with oversized couches. We had the use of a fridge, an updated bathroom, bedroom had two beds (double and twin). Pam had a fire set up for us, brought extra chairs for is to lounge on the deck. And was extremely hospitable! High recommend if you are looking for a place to stay.

Don't know what the 2014 reviewer who called it a pig sty experienced but when I was there summer 2015 I found it perfectly clean and pleasant. The manager who checked me in was friendly and helpful. If you are polite and friendly I find small town folks to be lovely and gracious. Don't expect the Taj Mahal in a small town where they may cater to hunters and truckers. It would have been nice to have a coffee or tea pot, iron/board, and/or hair dryer. And the pillows were too fat and firm for my liking. But otherwise I was very satisfied.

We stayed for 3 days in a Studio cottage literally on the water, grandfathered to be so close. Gas grill and picnic table and Ice, all available and free. Cabin was quite clean, we heard the loons at night. Patty and Stan are very friendly, easy going and especially accommodating. Kids were laughing, playing, swimming, fishing. Great place for family's on a budget. Lots of available kayaks and canoes. Power Boats are very well maintained, clean, reasonable rental rates. Stan and Patty make it very clear, No dogs allowed! That's ok, they are upfront with everyone. Who wants to hear barking dogs all day and night. Sooo, we going back, I just booked a full week in a cabin with a kitchen, for late June 2026. We opted out of the Meal plan, although we hear the American plan food is top notch. RIDEOUTS set us up with a Registered Maine fishing Guide, (Burt). We are so excited. Stan and Patti work tirelessly to ensure everyone has a great experience whether it is a group fishing or a young family vacationing. They respond quickly to everyone's needs and concerns. The place is spotless and well maintained. I was witness to several incidents that the previous negative reviewer inaccurately described and also the damage he or his family left. They were asked to leave and the people there, including me, were glad they did. Stan and Patti have big hearts and long fuses but when people act in a manner that impacts their livelihood, property, or the experience of other vacationers, after a few warnings you are asked to leave. It is why I keep coming back and year after year and the experience keeps getting better and better. It is a hidden gem but only for those who are respectful of others. I'm heading back again in a few weeks and would recommend it to anyone.

Quietly tucked back on Roosevelt Rd, this camp has everything you need essentially and then some…read more Two bedrooms upstairs with 1 queen bed each, downstairs one room has two comfortable cots, and the back room a king bed, a full bed and a twin bed. Full-size fridge, a mini fridge for beverages, and a full size range. They had special touches like a s'mores basket. Every housewife's dream, it come with a washer and dryer located in the large bathroom! Getting onto the dock could be slightly troublesome if you are not well on your feet. But, manageable for sure. They have stairs from the dock that lead into the water. The swimming area is clean and so fresh. The water is generally a good temperature. Not to far from Sand Cove and Barker Rocks. You can use the two kayaks that are provided or rent a motorboat for $100 a day or an hourly rate from Birch Point Campground. Be sure to hit up farm stands in the summer, brookside inn for breakfast, a day trip to Houlton when it is rainy, or cross the border into Canada if you have your documents. The camp ground offers cabin rentals, tenting spots and a section to park your camper with easy access to water and electric hook ups. Check in was a breeze, the staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. Peaceful, relaxing atmosphere with beautiful mountain & woodland views at every turn. Side by side rental was effortless to book, pick up and return. There are many access trails to choose from for year round activities. It rained recently so we got a little muddy, and loved it! On site gift shop, Restaurant and bar offering breakfast, lunch & dinner. The bartender makes wonderful drinks & the kitchen makes some good food! The pizzas are delicious & they have a great selection of appetizers and beer! So glad we chose this location- Theres nothing like the October foliage in northern Maine, paired with the crisp cool air that rolls off the mountain. This location and staff made our weekend away one to remember & we can't wait to return!
