Shopping at York Antiques Gallery is truly like delving into a treasure chest. There is something for everyone and prices are fair and run the gamut, from high end to great vintage and very reasonable pricing. We were so excited to see that the new manager added some fantastic new booths by opening up the carriage house section which is entered into on the second floor if you follow the entrance sign arrow at the end of the last booth down the hall. If you miss it, you will miss alot of great items. We found all of the staff to be super friendly and helpful and even on a hot, busy day, they were available to assist us with questions about items and helped carry our purchases to our car! Would absolutely come back often. It is one of the best antique shops on US1 in maine as far as we are concerned. read more

Stopped in while on vacation in York. Staff were really nice and accommodating, and actually took the things I was carrying so I could browse freely. This had to be one of the best antique stores I've ever been in. Clean, organized, and meticulously displayed items. If you're looking for legitimate antique primitives, colonial or Victorian pieces, this is it. Prices are kind of high, but these are one of a kind things. This is not the usual "antique" store junk you find at most places. Some booth's have discounts going on, so don't forget to ask. I could spend hours in this place. read more

I was on vacation on Saturday,June 7. I was standing by my car on parking lot and I was threatened by one older lady who was asking me to move. It was 10 in morning and parking lot was completely empty. I was surprised and she rolled her window down and started to scream,,Who are you? I work here!!! I think management needs to be aware of the unstable actions of one of their employees. Of course we will never comeback. read more

Massive selection, huge inventory and the prices were incredibly high. Do you think that might be related? Nice service, easy location but wouldn't go again with those prices. They treat every item as if it's special, maybe 5% of the inventory deserved the prices they had. read more

I do think about this location a lot because there was one loaded booth that just had tons and tons of stuff that was both cool and great prices. Overall not a great experience, lot of walking for little reward, lot of what i like to call decoration pieces that are priced so high they never sell. The staff was snoody and rude, they offended my wife and followed her around the store like a petty criminal, she was going to buy a couple of things but decided against it. Still i think about going back, just need to have thick skin to shop here for sure. read more

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable- I told them what I was looking for and the scoured the store until they found just the right piece. Amazing! I left with many treasures. I'm 35 years old, dress nicely, and I like to look at cool things. But the employees here had to follow me around for the mere 15 minutes I was in their store. Half the inventory is in locked glass cases, but they still subtly mentioned that there were "security cameras everywhere." Lol. Was gonna buy a cool vintage bat, but the stinky customer service convinced me otherwise. Great surveillance and a bunch of a racist artifacts if that's your thing tho. read more

My grandparents have purchased many pieces over the years here. So I stopped in looking for a large hutch for our home. I had just started browsing when apparently I parked in the wrong spot and I was told by a man "you are blocking the driveway to my business". I was taken aback by his tone. The women working in the store suddenly glared at me and told me firmly where to park. I felt a little ganged up on, so I just left. A million and one ways to better handle this, being a little kinder would have probably worked. Went up RT 1 and found a great little place and purchased the large piece I was looking for. Plenty of other places in the area to buy antiques with pleasant staff. read more

This is my favorite antique store in Maine. They have true antiques. It's like a museum but with price tags. Great descriptions on tags. For a great antique experience you shouldn't miss this one. read more

Never felt more uninvited in a place ever. The signs on the way in make it seem like they already suspect you're going to steal their ridiculously overpriced "antiques." I use parenthesis because I found a golfers folding seat from the early 70's they had labeled as an "antique shooters seat" for $160. Skip this place and don't waste your time with the pretentiousness of this place. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service. I know Maine is among the least favored places to do business-these people confirmed it. the customer service here is just dreadful. Awful dirty store, employees are awful. With antiques being a "dime a dozen" in this state take your money and list elsewhere. Do not waste your time. Rt 1 has many other alternatives read more
