While the website does outline the parking situation, it still proved to be a real inconvenience on the day of the event. However, the bigger issues were with the management and cleanliness. The owner kept my $250 non-refundable deposit for some spots on the floor, which I had pointed out to him upon my arrival. It was clear the venue hadn't been properly cleaned before our event--I found utensils, bread, and hair from a previous event. I cleaned the kitchen sink because there was dirt in it, even though we really didn't use that area. But just to point out the venue was not as clean as the owner was trying to make it seem, it was. When I brought up these concerns, the owner tried to justify his actions by invoking his status as a Black-owned small business, even though he was charging a Black family an excessive amount for cleaning that wasn't our responsibility. Additionally, there were no trash cans, which was a huge inconvenience. I strongly advise anyone considering this venue to conduct a very thorough walkthrough and document everything with your own photos. It's a shame that a decent venue is managed with such a lack of professionalism and care.

The ambiance early in the evening is relaxed outdoor seating needs to update the benches they're not comfortable and the woods starting to warp but, decent music, and a solid cocktail menu. It's the kind of place where you can actually hear your conversation and enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. However, as the night progresses and the vibe shifts into more of a "clubby" scene which ended up being a perfect combo but let's talk charges.. feels steep for what's essentially a modest venue without standout features. Drink prices were high like the cover but not in a way that reflects upgraded quality or service. For the area, there are other spots offering more for the same price or even less but with cozy comforts and inside seating, nicer facilities so it's easy to find things not to love if you come here to support a DJ friend like I did than pay the cover and mingle. It's not a bad place by any means, and the early lounge experience is definitely a highlight followed up with the banging DJ club scene after...it's just the paying premium rates for a relatively average experience for me.

stayed overnight so my lovely bride could get a little more sleep before her early morning flight…read moreand I don't have to make breakfast or clean up after... total win-win stay with everything I want in an Holiday Inn Express (and very few of the ones I don't) especially the clean! clean room, clean hallways, clean grounds, clean common areas... lots of clean without cleaning out my bank accounts. good location adjacent to the three story golf-a-tron just south of the airport and not directly in line with any of the flight paths either coming or going so good on them and good for me... "woot!" lots of people staying that night but there was still enough parking so nobody had to share a spot. wound up behind the pool but a door opens out from the lobby so it still worked out okay. breakfast was a good version of typical pancakes, toast, muffins, biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit and cereal... my biggest complaint is the TV: sound quality is fine and the channel selection is satisfactory but the picture is totally craptastic. everything - and I mean everything - looked like a video game: the news looked bad, the current police procedural looked bad, the vintage courtroom drama looked bad, even the duck & rabbit cartoon show looked synthetic. there's so much wrong with modern TV but I never expected it to be the actual set itself... and besides, this is a lodging review.

ELDER ABUSE!!!!!…read more As an IHG One Rewards member, I expected much better customer service. While driving home to Virginia from Florida, my son and I became too tired to continue safely. My 82-year-old mother kindly booked us a room at this Holiday Inn Express. Within approximately 10 minutes, she realized she had accidentally reserved the wrong Charlotte location and immediately called the hotel to cancel. She then booked us at another Holiday Inn Express that was directly along our travel route. We received a cancellation confirmation and stayed at the other IHG property that same night. Despite canceling within minutes of making the reservation, never checking in, and never occupying the room, we were charged for the stay. When I contacted IHG Customer Care, I was initially led to believe the charge would be refunded. I was later informed that the hotel's manager refused to authorize the refund, citing the 24-hour cancellation policy. What is most disappointing is the complete lack of discretion and customer service. This was not a last-minute cancellation or a no-show. It was an honest mistake that was corrected almost immediately, and we remained loyal to the IHG brand by staying at another Holiday Inn Express that same night. To make matters worse, the general manager was unnecessarily rude to my 82-year-old mother when she called to correct the booking. my poor mother has falken sick as a result! That interaction left her extremely upset and was completely unacceptable. Policies exist for a reason, but so does good judgment. This situation called for basic customer service and common sense. Instead, a loyal IHG customer was charged for a room that was never used. I hope IHG corporate reviews how this situation was handled and encourages this property to do the right thing by refunding the charge

Once inside, the space delivered. The outside terrace where we had happy hour was a highlight -- cute views of Charlotte and a nice sightline of Bank of America Stadium. Great spot to mingle before heading in. The interior was warm, temperature wise, but that's likely a seasonal thing with the heat still running. Minor and forgivable. The bathrooms were clean with one exception -- the full body mirror needed attention, which was a little disappointing for an otherwise polished space. Small detail but worth noting. Elevators worked without issue, which sounds like a low bar but matters more than people think for an event venue. Not sure how much of the equipment and staffing fell under the venue versus the event organizers, but the overall experience was enjoyable either way. It's a solid, attractive space for a nice gathering. Honestly I'd love to host something here myself. Would recommend for anyone looking for a venue with a nice Charlotte backdrop and easy accessibility.
