If you are a detail oriented bride with high standards, this is not the venue for you. I was married here in early April. I saw red flags from the beginning but the venue was beautiful and affordable so I ignored them and moved forward. My "contract" was hand written on a piece of notebook paper. The owners were often forgetful of what we had already discussed during our meetings or what we were supposed to be discussing and rarely kept any notes. They repeatedly brought up my husbands parents and where they would sit, his dance with his mom, etc. even though I told them multiple times from the very first time we met that his parents were both deceased. At our rehearsal the owner showed me a photo she had taken of a notepad with handwritten notes and it was the wrong wedding and bridal party. I sent a very detailed email prior to the wedding that explained how I would like each area set up, including photos for reference. I provided 99% of the decor so I wanted to make sure it was set up the way I envisioned. Despite every effort on my part to be as specific as possible, there were many things wrong the day of the wedding. Most were things that my guests would have never noticed, but being the bride and having spent so much time planning every detail, I noticed it all. The memorial area for my grandparents and my husbands deceased mother was completely ruined, and it was one of the most important parts of the wedding for us. Our sweetheart table was set up with the wrong chairs, that we had paid extra to rent. This was reimbursed to us so they at least made that part right. The sign I made for the sparkler sendoff and the pitchers I provided to store the sparklers were never set up so my guests all started leaving before the send off and we had to do it earlier than we were supposed to so we would have enough people to participate for the photos. We used the owners as our DJ. He forgot the dance between my husband and my mom and didn't have the music ready. The wrong playlist was used during dinner. The majority of the night he was not "DJ'ing" at all - he was up starting to help clean up, long before our time was up by the way. The same handful of songs just kept repeating over and over. $500 for this service and it was an absolute joke. Our package also included the owner as our "Day of Coordinator". Another service we did not receive much of - my photographer finally created a schedule for me and was the one that kept the night on track. They waited so long to do a bouquet toss I decided not to even do it, and nobody announced that we were cutting the cake so many of my guests including my mother completely missed that moment. They did not put out any signs directing guests to the restroom and nobody knew where it was. They didn't even plug the lights in, my father had to to it for my elderly grandmother to be able to use the restroom. The bridal room is much to small for an entire bridal party to get ready in, which I knew beforehand so I rented a hotel room for us to get ready. The bridal room smells like mold/mildew. They started cleaning up around my guests hours before my time was up. This brings me to the icing on the cake. As I stated, I provided the decor for my wedding and the majority of the decorations I made myself. My belongings were tossed carelessly into boxes and many of my items were completely ruined and damaged. My artificial florals smashed, expensive candelabra broken, items scratched and dinged, vintage wedding cards smashed beyond ability to use again. I now have to go through and repair what I can to be able to resell it. My boxes of decorations were all left outside in the humidity under the covered arbor for two rainy days instead of being locked away safely in the bridal room and there were ants in all of the boxes when they were picked up. Vases still had water in them. My things were completely disrespected and mistreated and it's just unacceptable. I was never offered anything to compensate for the damaged items. I got a generic "We are sorry we did not meet your expectations." That was it. My bridal party and even some of my guests commented after the wedding how they noticed the disorganization of the night, even though the ceremony itself and the set up were beautiful. This is embarrassing and should never happen when you are paying that kind of money for a service. Mistakes happen here and there, but it is totally unacceptable for it to have been to this degree. I am not typically one to complain or leave a negative review but this one is really warranted and I just want to try to help future brides avoid the experience I had.

We absolutely loved our visit to the family-friendly Almond Farm. Initially, we were a little put…read moreoff by the cost. We bought tickets online for about $16 each, including my toddlers. But hear me out!! It's definitely worth it. Buckle up, this might be long. We visited on a Saturday morning for the Fall Festival & Candy Dump. We arrived around opening (10am). The parking lot is very large and convenient to the entrance. The check-in staff members were so welcoming and friendly. Check-in was quick and easy. The pumpkins were set up at the entrance. There are also a few cute places to take pictures near the entrance. From there, the sky is the limit. We started at the tricycle racetrack then moved to the playground, which has plenty of benches for adults to watch their little ones. Then we moved to the Sand Hill. My kiddos loved all the dump trucks and the sit-on diggers. My husband and I had a quick game of basketball before moving to one of the blow-up slides. While waiting for the wagon ride , we visited the animal pens. My boys loved petting the cow, horse and sheep and seeing the turkey and chickens. For a small cost, you can purchase feed for the animals. Thankfully, they have a hand washing station onsite. The wagon ride is included in the ticket price and was a nice length; not too long & not too short. We had just enough time to visit the corn barn and grab a snack from their concession house. In my opinion, everything was decently priced. Service was quick and the food/drinks were hot. The candy dump was better than we could have imagined. They were kind enough to provide bags for the kiddos. The farm's owner offered a few warm words of appreciation then they loaded up the diggers. Although there were a lot of kids there, they spread the candy out so it didn't feel overwhelming. My toddlers had a blast and the older kids were so kind and patient with them. We left after the candy dump (my kids were exhausted ). There was so much we still didn't get to. They have a corn maze, an excavator slide, more bounce houses, a train and more. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. And did I mention, my kids were TIRED!! We'll definitely be back.

She warned us about "Karen" that exuded misery at the pre-wedding / rehearsal events. That didn't quite prepare us for the experience we were about to have. We were being responsible by carpooling to the event. We arranged two designated drivers and two separate cars to take us to the wedding. We thought there was a possibility of a sizable crowd and thought it would reduce the number of cars taking up space in the lot. I arrived in the first car very early. I stood beside my car awaiting the rest of us to arrive any minute. A man with a Napoleon Complex quickly tore into us for NO reason. He accused us of "tailgating". The rest of my party arrived during his diatribe. He threatened to remove us from the property if he caught us returning to our cars. He continued his aggression until we walked down to the venue area. Totally unwarranted and 100% classless! The inside venue space was pretty. The table setting(stemware, flatware, napkins, tablecloth)was pretty. We walked outside to white folding chairs overlooking a community fishing pond. They had an arbor set up with white netting and two floral arrangements tacked to it. The walking paths from the venue building and the area among the wedding space was made of driveway gravel. This was fun for the ladies in heels to walk in. The ceremony was beautiful. The bride was breathtakingly gorgeous. Their vows were tear-inducing. After the exchange of vows we all headed to the inside space for cocktail hour. There was NO liquor, therefore, it was actually beer and wine hour. It didn't take long for all of the wines to run out except for a super sweet Moscato that wasn't really good. Before the dances and speeches began the buzz inside was that someone in the grooms family was getting booted from the venue. I could see him outside receiving the wrath of the venue's gestapo. He was in disbelief that he had to leave the event. I walked outside after he had gone and the three guys with an earpiece were gleefully discussing their accomplishment. The buffet line went quickly. There was only one meat- chicken with something sprinkled on it. They had two starchy sides- mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. They also had a bowl of iceburg lettuce with cucumbers in it and a roll. The mac and cheese was actually pretty good. They had a wedding cake and I never got to taste it. The speeches and first dances were beautiful. The DeeJay did a great job. The music selections were varied to appeal to the wide range of ages and tastes of the wedding attendees. The garter throw and the bouquet toss were memorable. It was awesome to see the love and respect amongst the guests. I had to step outside for a few minutes to get away from the loud music. Guess what? The three guys were outside tossing one of the groomsmen! I found out later that they had also threatened the groom's brother as well. This crowd was so well-behaved. I hate that thing I will most remember from this wedding is the three guys with an earpiece. I was personally verbally attacked bu one of these guys for NO reason. These guys need two things, 1) a psychologist to help them with their aggression and anger issues and 2) a new job that doesn't involve interactions with the public.
