I originally thought that this was a great, family-run hotel and restaurant. However, as time went on, I discovered the bad things outweigh the good. First, the good things. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's clean, comfortable, and the staff is friendly. It's close enough to walk to everything in town, which makes it very convenient. Now the bad. I must have had the same room as Paul C., who wrote the last review over two years ago. It was noisy. Traveling for business, it would have been good to have an iron in the room. Internet connectivity is not very good. First, you have to have a separate username/password provided by the front desk for each device, and they only last a certain period of time. The proprietor was visibly irritated when I kept asking. Also, if you're trying to connect during high-use times in the evening, forget it. Finally, my employer told me the negotiated price was €79, which included breakfast. When I went to check out, the proprietor charged me €82 and said that was her price. When I said that's not what I was told, she got upset with me. I didn't argue, but clearly there's a disconnect, which wasn't my fault. Overall, I might be able to recommend Landhaus Feldmeier if you're in the area and desperately need a place to stay for a short time. Otherwise, I'd try somewhere else.

The backyard area was nice; our kids ran around out there and it was just nice to sit out and enjoy the day. The children's play area was close by (outside of their third building), which was also a nice touch for the kids. The hotel is close enough to the center of town, but not so close that you are kept awake by the constant ringing of the church bells. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. They do accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard), which is refreshing; make sure you settle your bill the night before. The breakfast in limited -- cold cuts, fresh bread and jams, museli, and cereals -- however, I've come to expect and enjoy this sort of German breakfast. The wait staff will bring you fresh coffee or tea once you sit down, which is nice. Things I didn't like. Our room was right next to the main road, which tends to get a bit loud in the evenings. Clearly not every room is going to deal with this, but it was still annoying for us. There aren't any screens on the windows, which is problematic when you want to open the windows to get some air circulation; bugs tend to be attracted to the lights in the room. There is no A/C or fans in the room, which again, makes it a little warm during the summer time. The rooms do not have irons. If you want to iron your clothes, you have to go down to the basement and into the laundry room to iron your clothes. A little inconvenient. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Landhaus -- a worthy 3-stars.

That and their breakfast and bedding is the one thing I enjoy about this place. Its a quiet hotel otherwise and I like that they accept dogs too. On the second floor they have a cozy little nook for tea, coffee, snacks and a refrigerator for beer and wine. Its all paid on the honor system so you just put your money into their tin kasse thats sitting on the refrigerator. I hope places in germany never have to stop doing that. It makes me feel like there is hope in this world. Their bedding has improved too. Its a soft pillow top bed with excellent clean sheets. I just wish they had black out curtains. This room is more spacious than our last. It could sleep an entire family, but of course the bathroom is small again. Otherwise, we always enjoy our stay here. I just wish I had brought our stockings to hang off the mantle. :)
