This is a cute pretty park located in the back of the Museum of Natural History. Some people may not realize there is this park here. I just recently realized it was there and I walk by there alot. Great place to hang and just take in the air especially on a nice day. There are no playgrounds from what I saw and it's on the smaller side. Nice little area to walk around in. read more

There's a Nobel Statue, and I saw the cutest little dogs. If you're in the upper west side and had a heavier meal, I would walk around here. read more

This is one of my favorite parks on the upper West side. It stretches from 77th St. to West 81st on Columbus all the way to Central Park West. It's lose to the museum of natural history and has paths, a beautiful grassy area and a dog park. I love to grab coffee and just sit on one of the benches and watch the people walk by. A small park that's outside a museum. It's not big but that's okay. Theodore Roosevelt Park is a nice place for a stroll. Located outside the American Museum of Natural History. This is also close to Central Park so it's overlooked. Central Park is close by. It means many people don't come here. This is next to the American Museum of Natural History. It's kind of hidden a bit. This is on the north side. It's not at the main entrance. This is maybe why many people don't notice it, because they don't go by it. Theodore Roosevelt Park is a small park next to the American Museum of Natural History. The best part is that there is access to the museum's terrace and fountain. One can access this terrace (currently mid-2022) via a small stairwell next to the entrance of the museum's parking garage. This access is available during the museum's construction. It's kind of the little brother to Central Park. Plenty of places to eat at within a few minutes walking distance. I never really noticed this park until recently when I attended an event there for New Taste of the Upper West Side. This is for dog park review only because the park itself just seems like a public space with not much else. The dog park area is pretty big and the surface consists of nice gravel. It consists of a separate area for large and small dogs. It seems cleaner since the gravel is pretty deep and it doesn't seem like there's much mud. If it's pretty dry out, it can get a little dusty though. read more

It's a cute little park. Tucked in a nice spot - blocks away from its grandpa, Central Park. I like to stroll through this area when I happen to be around. It's very beautiful and definitely demands a visit. Or two. Or three. Or four. TRP is the park located next to the AMofNH and it's fantastic. What is it about NY and their parks? It's like there is so much special attention given to each park. For the past year, I've been a "park girl." I used to love the hustle and bustle and chaos during the day, but now, I prefer going to a park and just chillaxin'. My favorite is to people watch. I always think, "I wonder where they're going? Or what they're thinking?" Then, I laugh to myself because I'm sure someone is thinking the very exact thing of me. Touche. The park has this huge area for kids to play in, I think there was a water-something (fixture), whatever, and I thought, "man, kids in NY are so spoiled." They have no idea just how much of a privilege it is to just hang out at one of the prettiest parks in the U.S. There is so much access here. It would be such a trip for a NY kid to move somewhere else...talk about a culture shock! My theory on why people hang out at parks. A park is an universal space. Centrally located so it draws out a slew of different kinds of people. Depending on the weather, it's the perfect setting to be outside without having to do anything in particular. There's a sense of community when you go to a park, if even you don't know anyone in particular, you know that the person jogging next to you, or sitting next to you on the bench is part of your neighborhood. You feel inter-connected. But, you can be as self-absorbed as you want without any apologies or worries. Also, living the "city-life" is crazy, constantly on the go, so a park provides a recluse, a breathing area to just "not think, not do, not process." read more

What a peaceful place! Even during the Macy's Parade it's able to exude a tranquility. Nice buildings in the background and easy walking paths that wind in a meandering fashion all contribute to this effect. read more

It's too close to THE Park and doesn't boast much space or anything worth looking at, but I guess the pups have a good time. read more

Nice little park--pass by on your way to Central Park from the UWS or if you're going to the Natural History museum. Dog park was super cute and there were quite a few of them on a Sunday afternoon. If you're an animal lover you can probably spend an hour here watching them play and maybe even playing with them yourself. read more

We spend hours each day here with our dog (in Bull Moose Run). It's a terrific community of people and dogs in the best neighborhood!

i like central. union is ok. but this, THIS, is true serenity. not huge, but pretty, clean, and has a regular but not annoying flow of people and UHdorable dogs. read more
