We didn't want to jump into surgery so we traveled every avenue we could and then after 6 or so months we decided a Hip Replacement was my only option. So on June 18, 2018 I went under the knife. He was completely against getting an MRI even though I asked multiple times. Instead he decided to send me to a rheumatologist for an entire year with no evidence. After being at the rheumatologist for an entire year I finally got an MRI that completely ruled out any form of arthritis. I ended up with a tibial plateau fracture. It required a fixator for the first 4 days till the…read moreswelling went down till they could do surgery. I ended up at Erlanger ER and had Dr Kiner as my orthopedic surgeon. He is a real straight forward guy, not frilly and won't be your best friend but a great surgeon. I liked him more and more as I had follow up appointments. I had about 14 screws, plates and they had to use surgical cement and cadaver bone graft before they could put the screws in. It was painful but had to be done. The scar is absolutely perfect. I was non-weight bearing from Dec 11 till March 8th. I had other problems like a torn meniscus and torn MCL which was all repaired. At least I can walk. I am 72yo and am lucky I had such a skilled surgeon like Dr Kiner. He is no longer at Erlanger and I don't know where he is but I will find him so I can follow up with him!!

Even my daughter commented that her first adjustment today was very nice and she felt significantly better afterwards. He's very thorough in his initial consultation, recording you as you go through ranges of motion. He then takes thorough notes for additional movements.
