I have the utmost gratitude for the team at Therapydia. I came to Dr. Tyler Patrick with a shoulder injury and it was a puzzle to figure out how I had injured it. His patient and thorough evaluation helped me figure out what was causing the pain and how to strengthen the areas around it to help it heal. About two months into my shoulder therapy, my doctor also prescribed physical therapy for foot and hip pain that ended up being plantar fasciitis. Tyler went above and beyond to help me deal with this. He did research outside of our sessions on ways to strengthen the area and he always took my job into account - which is both the cause of all my injuries and also my livelihood. As a dancer and choreographer, I need to be able to trust my PT and be assured they understand the weight of my injuries and that I cannot simply stop dancing. I send all my injured dance students to see Tyler as well, knowing he has knowledge of common dance injuries and respect for our craft, rather than shaming the dancers for the physical stress we already know we put on our bodies. He inspires everyone who comes to him to take more time for self-care. The entire staff has a great sense of humor, respect for their patient's time, and are compassionate and kind. Sam, their receptionist, is a joy and has a wonderful memory, making me feel like a valued and important customer every time I'm there. I can't recommend this clinic enough. read more

I began physical therapy with Brett in July following a neck and head injury with subsequent surgical intervention and orthodontic treatment. I have been in physical therapy for 4 years in 3 states and have experienced a great many different types of Physical Therapy models. I met with Brett as colleague initially and found him kind, warm hearted and well educated about an encompassing variety of conditions and treatments. I came into Therapydia as my back had seized up and I was looking for relief. I was assigned to Dr. Jaime Granchelli who proceeded to evaluate my condition, explain it to me in a way that I could understand, and then gave me therapy that with each visit, made significant improvement in my condition. She also taught me the proper way to move as I healed, as well as gave me instructions on how to stretch and exercise that would aid my healing. Jaime's anatomical knowledge as well as her application of therapy was excellent and very successful. The therapists have a way of not only explaining to you what is you are doing, but why you are doing it and how it is helping you in your recovery. Therapydia is a must for any one on the Big Island in need of physical therapy or fitness guidance in general. It was about a 30 minute drive to get there but I had such a great experience I would be willing to drive all the way from Hilo.
