Our senior dog was in obvious distress on August 30th--panting, groaning, dry heaving,…read moredrooling--and because it was Sunday, we went to King Hopkins Pet Hospital in Whitby for emergency care. This was our first and last visit. We spent 5.5 hours there while Dr. Eureka Ma ran multiple tests (bloodwork, urine, x rays) yet provided no clear diagnosis and no meaningful treatment until hours later, despite our dog being visibly nauseous, dehydrated, and suffering. Only after all the tests were done did she finally give anti nausea medication and fluids. She indicated it didn't seem that serious and sent us home with antibiotics at a $1,500 cost. Ten minutes after leaving the clinic, our dog died in the car. We returned immediately, and the clinic offered no explanation, no accountability, and no urgency. We asked to speak with the owner (Sasha Black) or manager (Daniqua) and were told we'd receive a call Monday. It is now Tuesday--no call, no follow up--yet they sent multiple messages asking us to leave a review. We are devastated, angry, and shocked by the lack of care, attention, and basic competence. The facility itself was dirty and off putting, and after reading the many negative reviews online, we now understand this is a pattern. We will be filing a formal complaint with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
