Food was delicious, and the ability to swap the sausage out for an egg was nice! Service was quick and friendly, and the coffee was good.

Nice cafe overlooking the lake in Rotorua providing coffees and breakfasts. Came here with my husband as this cafe opens at 730 am on a Sunday. The view from the large windows or patio is fantastic. I ordered eggs and toast with multigrain bread. They accidentally served it with ciabatta, but were kind enough to bring the multigrain and allowed me to keep the ciabatta if I wanted. My husband enjoyed the ciabatta. To me, it appeared a bit over toasted and was a small portion size. The breakfast was good, as were the flat whites. The view is what stands out about this cafe.

Good views of the lake and pretty delicious options. I went for he vanilla pancakes and it was the perfect amount.

A table right by the window at the back of the venue with a spectacular volcanic view of the lakeside.

Absolutely the best flat white in Rotorua. The breakfasts here are second to none and the view from their windows over the lake are spectacular dotted with fumerole steam. Reasonably priced, with a nice portion size and an open venue with plenty of space between tables. Free parking in a dedicated car park just off the main road.

Nice place for breakfast! Clean, open, and quality food. Definitely eat here for a meal or two. The coffee drinks were great too! We had "The Big One" and the Mushrooms on Toast with a Sweet Chai Latte.

Stopped in for breakfast. Had eggs on toast with a side of bacon as well as Fried Potato hash with Tomato and Avocado. Both were pretty good although the fried potato was a bit cold and dry. Great view outside of both the lake and the Anglican Church. Inside they have a jail for you child too! Grab some sweets for the road. Had a Passion Fruit one that was pretty good but the case is full with tons of choices. Parking is also easy.

Fast service and friendly. A little on the strong side for coffee. The muffins are delicious!

Totally cool interior design, worth a visit if you just want to go for one beer or possibly coffee. They have a variety of Mac's for beers (good beer), Stella Artois, Speights and more. I didn't order much, but a beer is 8,50 $ at this place wich seems quite normal, but still. Jam night was Thursday and it was a lot of fun and there were a couple of regulars that started playing with us newbs and I held a mean beat on the drums. Cool and different instruments, totally fun to try! My visit was during winter season in May so it wasn't very busy, but stills lot of people showed up after a while. Closes at one I think. Totally awesome girl in the bar! No music other than us though, kind of sad.

Very impressed by the decor, for a start. Fabulous furniture and colour scheme which I totally loved. There were a bunch of vegan items on the menu. We had the lentil croquettes, the bruschetta and the Inca salad. The croquettes and the bruschetta were very tasty and went down a treat, but we weren't too impressed by the Inca salad, finding it a little tart. The vegan chia and coconut dessert more than made up for it though. It was delicious, if a little pricey. Service was friendly and helpful. Toilets were clean. Decor was fabulous. All in all a great spot and I'd definitely go back.

Check in was a breeze, with friendly desk staff and a colorful welcoming lobby. We parked around the side in the dedicated free parking. These spaces feel up at night, which was a minor inconvenience. They also do not have elevators, so you'll have to carry luggage (although a kind staff member helped us). It's quiet here. It's also conveniently located near the lake, just a quick walk away. Rotorua is known for the natural volcanic springs, which put a sulfuric smell in the air and also affect the bathroom fixtures with a stain; the hotel left a nice explanation to make you understand everything is clean despite the color. Our checkout was equally pleasant, with no wait, and complimentary coffee coupons to enjoy our drive the next day. I would enjoy staying here again!

We were on a ground level room facing a courtyard. Every time someone used the door it slammed behind them. The room is outdated and badly needs a refresh. We had two double beds, no pillow top mattress and only one pillow per person. There's no microwave, but there was a mini fridge and a pot to boil water, along with a variety of tea options. Another negative was the outlet situation. There were very few outlets in the room and all located in inconvenient places (near the floor by the radiator, in the bathroom next to the sink).

The luxury B&B and Farmstay experience was unique and definitely made our honeymoon in New Zealand much more memorable. In the morning, we drove from Auckland to our Hobbiton tour at 1:30 pm. From Hobbiton, we drove about 10 minutes to check in at de Preaux Lodge. After parking in front of their home, Joy greeted us at the door and helped us get settled in. Their home looks like something photoshopped from an interior decorating magazine. Our first thought was, "This is a farm? OMG." The home was decorated with beautiful furniture and our room was very clean with a comfy bed. We were impressed their home has solar panels and motion lights which was especially nice when we walked through the halls at night to the bathroom. Joy and Ian are very kind hosts who were so friendly and welcoming. I appreciate their flexibility and how they customized our farm stay to our schedule. For example, they made breakfast and gave farm tours at different times since one family wanted to leave early and we wanted to sleep in. The farm tour was so much fun. Ian gave us a ride on his tractor while feeding the cows and let us watch him while he gave a sick cow a shot of medicine. My favorite part was giving Daisy, their friendly sheep, a treat and taking a selfie with her. We learned so much from Ian during our farm tour about sustainability and being able to live off the grid. After seeing Joy's garden, we definitely want to grow our own vegetables once we get back home. If you're planning a trip to Hobbiton or Matamata, I definitely recommend staying at de Preaux Lodge. You won't regret it.
