Hands down one of the best restaurants ever!…read more The bruschetta was excellent. The salad was tasty. The Reuben left a lasting memory. My friend had the Philly Steak sandwich and said it was the best meal she'd ever eaten. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous with all the flowers. The interior is tastefully decorated and cozy. The service was excellent from the minute we arrived until we departed. I wish so much I lived closer to Neil's!

We needed a place for dinner while we were staying at our rental and drove past this place and…read morethought it looked interesting. Yelp and google gave it pretty decent reviews, so we stopped in. One thing that was cool was last night the patio was reserved for only those who had dogs. It would have been neat to know that ahead of time and we could have brought our dog. Not sure if that's a daily thing or special for Saturday nights. The inside was cool, you can see the historic charm in this place. We got immediate seating, which was really nice. We were told multiple times the kitchen was backed up and we would have to wait about 45 minutes for our food. That was fine. We figured if we ordered an appetizer to go with dinner it would come out earlier. Our friends appetizers came out nearly an hour later. My husband and I each ordered a cup of the French onion soup and we got it 30 minutes after our friends got theirs. Our main courses came out shortly after that. Two of us ordered the chicken masala, one ordered a steak, and I ordered the salmon. All of our food was amazing. My husband said hands down the best meal in a restaurant in 2026. It would have been nice if the restaurant offered us a free dessert or round of drinks for the extremely long wait. Honestly I was about to ask if they even started making our meals when the soups finally came out, because if they hadn't I'd have said forget it. If I'm being honest, I'd have rated our experience lower, because that wait time was awful. But the food was delicious and this surely can't be something that happens regularly, because if it was, this place would have way less 5 star reviews. If I'm in the area again I'd give this place another shot, and hopefully our wait time is much shorter and the food is just as good.

Lots of helmet hooks - it's a biker bar by my amateur assessment. Big patio. Sand volleyball courts. Tons of parking. We had customizable grilled cheeses - crispy and delish. New owners changed…read morethe name to The Shop Fair Valley Bar and Grill, and they actually improved the food selection and seating. Place was always on the small side. New owners added some tables inside and expanded the service outside. They also created a tent area, volleyball court and a music stage behind the building. The food has always been great. We love the fish fry. Lots of choices for fish: haddock, walleye and perch. Fish can be broiled or fried in a nice beer batter. Broad selection of potato options and homemade coke slaw. On this night two had perch, one had haddock and I had shrimp. Fish was cooked perfectly, as always. My shrimp were big and tasty - 5 of them with cocktail sauce on the side. I decided to have sweet potato fries and they were great. So look, the place is small and it's busy. Want a tip - go early. Stake your claim to a table and enjoy a great meal. Oh, they've added other things to the menu like prime rib and something called the trio which is a sampler of three kinds of fish, but you can't beat fish fry. Staff is friendly and overworked, so give them a break. It will take a little while to get your food, but when it comes you will be pleased. Highly recommend without any reservations. Tremendous value and have never been disappointed. Place is becoming very popular. How popular you ask? A month ago we were out there and we arrived a little later than usual. They were so busy, they ran out of fish. Now that's a good sign.

The bartender assured us that their vegan options were incredible. MadisonTap features many local Wisconsin beers on tap. They seem to often rotate the beers and keep a solid selection. MadisonTap was spacious with bar seats, tables, and booths available. The design and decor were well thought out. The crowd seems to be young professionals in their mid-20s to early 30s. I don't recall the beers I got here but I do remember prices being ~$7-10 range mark. The bartender and owner place special emphasis on being vegetarian and vegan friendly. Even one of the cocktails used vegan butter. There was a single bartender when I visited but it was a bit slow. We had a great conversation and watched Christmas movies on the projectors. Overall, solid experience. 5/5. Favorited in Madison, WI.

We entered from the front of the building. It looks like they feature a different brewery every month. The interior of the bar was pretty classy and new. Their patio was very cool and spacious. A great patio for evening drinks! The live music was pretty good too. Can't speak to the food however, since we didn't eat there.
