You dialed in a special number on the phone and yelled Pix, Pix, Pix while on the TV to shoot the targets. Back then it was fun and you could win prizes. Otherwise, I don't watch channel 11 too much. I'll tune into the morning news cast once in a while to see what's going on, the weather, etc. The used to also offer some pretty good shows along with many reruns of syndicated shows, and daytime schlock to pass the time.

Since its inception in 1948, WPIX's studios and offices have been located in the Daily News Building on East 42nd Street (also known as "11 WPIX Plaza") in Midtown Manhattan. The station's transmitter is located at the Empire State Building. Cc Wikipedia On September 11, 2001, the transmitter facilities of WPIX, and several other New York City area television and radio stations were destroyed when two hijacked airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center. Basic Cable provides me with a limited amount of Channels. I find myself watching 11 periodically depending on my mood. I've seen every episode of Sanford and Son numerous times. There's always Jerry Springer when you want a laugh. This Station gets Four Stars for longevity. Another New York Staple. Pretty Historic to me. Long history reporting the news and airing sports including Yankees Games. I'm a fan!

The filming went on for around two hours with many jokes made knowing they would not make the 44 minute post production cut. We had a great time, the show was free and parking was $15.

Basically, as with most streamers you can cancel, re-up for a month or two, binge anything new and then cancel again. I hung around for their re-boot of Frasier (IMHO the best sit-com of all time) and witnessing the train wreck made of the updating, it was beyond sad and unnecessary. Without the sterling writing and tight ensemble cast, it's a quick hook and curtains for the good doctor. I also love Star Trek but you can't build an entire streamer around the reruns and a geriatric Jean Luc Picard. Finally, it was also interesting catching a few episodes of the original Hawaii Five-0 and Mission Impossible. My nostalgic tolerance for bad acting and hackneyed plots is fleeting and reminds me that a fond boyhood memory is often more pleasing than a real time reminder. Paramount+ may live long and prosper but it's in dire need of more rotating content. Dr. Frasier Crane deserved better... kudos to the rest of the original cast for staying away. Five stars for the convenience and excellent picture quality.

I think CNN is SAD! However, back in my decades of being a Democrat, I loved CNN! I even had a…read moreraging crush on both George Stephanopoulos and Anderson Cooper! The Cable News Network has been around a while - established in 1980 thanks to Ted Turner. Perusing the list of current CNN personalities, I only recognize one - Wolf Blitzer. CNN has often been accused of party bias and research supports the accusations such as the 2007 The New York Times, Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy and the Project for Excellence in Journalism who found CNN's programming "tended to cast a negative light on Republican candidates by a margin of three to one." I give them credit for providing a platform for Anthony Bourdain with "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown," in which Anthony travels the world and explores various cuisines and cultures. With today's plethora of first-hand expression, statements, photos, videos such as X, blogs, YouTube, Facebook, and Truth Social, I absolutely never tune in to CNN.

I'm one of the 51+ million viewers of the presidential debate on 6/27/24 and despite a lot of "hair…read moreon fire" talking head apocalyptic predictions about CNN's hosting, in my humble opinion, it went pretty okay. Nothing political to say here, just that I thought is was done in a fairly respectful and without heavy bias. I started watching CNN from their very beginning, yes that long ago, but this isn't about me or political nonsense, this page is about CNN so here goes. CNN (Cable News Network) The cable news organization that has been providing continuous 24-hour news coverage since its inception. Founded by media mogul Ted Turner, the network has evolved significantly over the years, in my opinion, not for the better unfortunately.  CNN began broadcasting on June 1, 1980, as the first all-news television channel in the US. Its initial headquarters were in Atlanta, with a staff of around 300 employees. Since then, CNN has grown exponentially, expanding its presence and now has approximately 4,000 employees worldwide. It's now owned by CNN Global, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. Turner Broadcasting System initially owned CNN until it merged with Time Warner in 1996. After several structural changes and the acquisition of Time Warner by AT&T in 2018, Warner Bros. Discovery  became CNN's parent company in 2022. Let's talk ratings, CNN has touted maintaining a steady viewership with an average of around 1 million viewers daily. However, ratings fluctuate depending on the current events and political climate. Overall in a recent month stack up of the big three cable news channels it looked like this in prime time:  Total Viewers: Fox News 2,262,000 MSNBC 1,165,000 CNN 587,000 But wait, there's more, CNN, which proclaims itself as "the most trusted name in news," drew just 83,000 viewers aged 25 to 54 during the week of May 13-19 from 8 to 11 p.m. -- its lowest-rated week since 1991, according to Nielsen. Rut Roh  Aside for arguably being a major catalyst for the "fake news" moniker, and making some really pour leadership and host choices it's not all their fault thanks to social media and a younger audience for news. Don't take my word for it, CNN actually posted a story, on their website, that according to the Nielsen Company in May 2024, that they maintain the youngest audience in cable in May with a median age of 67 years, 4 years younger than MSNBC (71) and 3 years younger than Fox News. Yikes!!! As for social media, Tucker Carlson, who was fired by Fox News, where his average show numbers were around 3 million, but on only his second episode of 8pm news on X, formerly Twitter, had over 54 million views. So yeah, in my opinion, age and social media is killing cable news in general.  Bottom line: It's not the same as those screens we used to watch at airports, bars, casinos, etc.  especially since CNN Airport Network shut down nationwide at the end of March 2022, ending that 30-year run. The demise if cable news has been predicted for years but I reference a Politico article "Old People Love Cable News -- and They Vote" stating that the predictions of cable news' demise are dead wrong. We'll see.
