As time went on, he would not answer my emails or phone calls and ghosted me leaving me with no help at all. The divorce was bad enough but dealing with him was worse. He made a bad situation turn into a nightmare. It was devastating. I felt I had nowhere else to turn being low on money and not being able to hire another attorney at the time. When I looked on the court website there was Discovery pending that was due in one week from me and I had not even been notified by him. Finally, after 6 months of him doing nothing and still not answering my calls or emails, I fired him. He then emailed me that he would happily mail back the rest of my retainer but I never got it. I've called repeatedly about this l, but he never returns my call. He was very rude and belittled me after he got my retainer. I was never able to get temp spousal support even after hiring a new attorney because the court wanted to go directly to a final hearing since it had been so long. The courts were so back logged with divorces, It took me 18 months to get to a final hearing and $44,000 worth of credit card debt. Had I not had that available credit, I don't know what I would have done. After the abuse from my husband, I had to deal with the abuse from this guy. Worst mistake I ever made was hiring him. Don't make the same mistake I made. You will regret it deeply. It's amazing to me how these attorneys can get away with treating people this way.
