Was strung along the entire time in regards to my SO workers comp case evaluation for a head injury sustained at work. He "went into the evaluation with an open mind" but failed to let us know that WC insurance company had showed him a "video of her grocery shopping" and she "looked perfectly fine to him." Mind you this was a head injury and not a physically broken leg or obvious to spot injury. I guess he just expects the world to stop around us and we don't need to eat or grocery shop for us and the children. He was asking loaded questions the entire time and it was very obvious the WC insurance company had paid him to say what they wanted him to say. He should not be anywhere near a dr office, let alone patients. He should have his board certification revoked and his practice shut down. After all of the stuff we've went through this entire time he just made things 100% more difficult and time consuming for her to receive the compensation she has earned and deserves. read more

I can just review my experience with their office staff which has been horrible!! They were very rude, dismissive & did not return any of my calls. They said they did not take my insurance so I asked how much it was out-of-pocket. They said $250-500-she seemed surprised when I said "ok". I told her that I do not need a psychological evaluation as I have my own. Every thing I asked was like pulling teeth to get her to give me information. She finally said I can fax the psych report & the dr will determine if it's acceptable. After much trouble of getting thru to their fax machine-it took 3 times & I tried calling but no one answered the phone-I have yet to hear back from them & even if I do I will NOT be seeing them! read more

I hope this comes up as zero stars. Avoid this doctor. Very rude, spends little time with you and delegates to staff. Calls remain unreturned and staff yells at you for being frustrated when you finally get an answer after numerous calls about prescribed drugs. Take your child anywhere else. read more

Avoid this doctor at all costs, very creepy and unprofessional. My mother has FTD (behavioral Dementia) and we went to an appointment, and I told staff that my Mom was having a very bad day......Dr. Gualtieri had us wait in a hot waiting room for an hour....I finally got fed up and left, Dr. G approached us and NEVER said sorry.....didn't show any care whatsoever. read more

I would not recommend this doctor. He hears what he wants to hear, and of a four hour unnecessary evaluation, you spend maybe thirty minutes with him maximum. Other staff whose credentials and names were not disclosed, nor even introduced, conduct tests and brief physical exam, yet his report is presented as though he personally conducted exam. Prior records were not requested, nor were they requested via releases, yet patient self report is addressed in his report as though patient were delusional. I wouldn't recommend this professional to anyone. Patient was misdiagnosed by this professional who failed to consider that prior records were needed prior to rendering any diagnosis, implying that all prior neuropsychological evaluations (considerably more extensive than a mere four hours) were conducted by quacks licensed by Cracker Jacks. read more

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was referred to this man by UNC Hospitals. I have NO idea why they referred me to him. This man is horrible... the whole practice is. When people say they use you as lab rats, they're not kidding. Although I came for a psychiatric problem, NOT a neurological one, I had to sit through HOURS of neurological testing on a computer. I scheduled my appointment for 9 AM, unaware that their standard new patient procedures take 3-5 hours. Yes, that's right... FIVE HOURS, which is almost a full work day. When I got there and was informed how long it was going to take, I mentioned I had class at 12 and needed to leave by 11:30. I'm a college student and it's the second week of class. I was told I had to stay or pay 75 dollars for a cancellation fee. So I emailed my teacher and stayed... I went through the hours of testing and then FINALLY the doctor came in to see me. He IMMEDIATELY started yelling at me about my poor self care. I didn't get a chance to explain that my poor self care was 100% related to the psychiatric conditions I was coming to seek help for.... I ended up in a SEVERE panic attack and a relapse into my eating disorder. I left early and was told my copay could be refunded. When I called to make sure my copay would be refunded, I was told by the staff member on the phone that what happened to me shouldn't have happened... but after I had calmed down in the hall enough to the point to be able to breathe and went in to confront "Dr" Gualtieri, I was told he "left" the office. I was sitting in the hall in between the ONLY two exits and would have seen him had he left. He didn't leave, he just didn't want to talk to a calm me asking him if he triggers all his patients like this. After reading many reviews when I got home, I saw he DID trigger all his patients like this. If you are looking into going to this doctor, please don't. He's abusive and I'm looking into reporting him to the medical board. A man who is supposed to be a psychiatric professional but who thinks it's an appropriate response to a depressed and anxious person having poor self care habits that they're horrible and shouldn't seek treatment because of their horrible habits doesn't deserve to practice.
