The Core Knowledge curriculum has really exposed them to a lot of content on world history, art, music, and literature that I don't think they would have learned at a typical elementary/middle school. We love the Spanish instruction starting in Kindergarten, the technology classes, and the strong focus on literacy and math. My oldest son was well prepared for high school, posting a 3.9 GPA in mostly pre-AP classes. We also like the smaller school environment. You really do feel like part of a family where most of the teachers, parents, and other students know and support your kids. There are many ways that I can volunteer to improve the school and enhance my kids' experience. Overall, NVCS has been an amazing place for my kids to grow their character, social skills and commitment to their community. I always recommend NVCS to friends with elementary and middle school aged children!

This is negligence and this is dangerous to kids. So not only does New vision teach information that is blatantly wrong, for example where certain bones are in the body, they allow kids to get injured on the playground and don't notify the parents. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this school they make promises that they've never been able to keep, they teach kids information that is wrong, and they don't care about the safety of the kids.

But as the years went bye I have come to really adore fossil. I also did swim on the guys swim team all four years, and that really helped me make friends. It appears that majority of coaches at Mountain View are half a**ing their job. The hallways had a strong smell of weed as well. The math education in particular was so bad that it sent my daughter into a cycle of hating math and then having even more trouble learning it because she hated it so much. When it comes to history, they spend a lot of time teaching the kids how bad America is, and almost none on the many ways in which America is the best country in human history. There are downstream effects of doing this that are really bad. Every school should be doing their damnedest to see each kid reach her full potential. Instead, the approach at Walt Clark is to have really low expectations so that every child can pass. ("Nobody left behind.") Human nature being what it is, all of the kids just barely exceed these low expectations, so they come nowhere near what they're capable of. The entire Thompson Valley School District is the best argument for school choice that I've seen. And I don't mean transferring to another one of their low-performing schools. I mean a real voucher system where the parents can choose an actual good private school and use the voucher to pay for it. It's incredibly disappointing that Colorado voted school choice down in a recent election. Regular people have no idea how bad this unionized government monopoly really is.
