Amazing stay at this incredible location of the Thon Hotel. We are currently visiting Norway for the first time from North America and immediately the service provided by the staff at the Oslofjord goes above and beyond an amazing experience. Louis, the concierge at the front desk, has been an amazing ambassador of the Thon Hotel brand. He welcomed us with a great smile and friendly disposition, and immediately placed himself at our service. He provided us with valuable information about transportation, the city, things to do in Oslo, Sandvika, and talked to us about other great cities to experience around all Norway. He has been a well of knowledge. The hotel itself is easy to access. It is only minutes away from the Sandvika Train station by Uber. It is also quite comfortable and clean. With a contemporary design the building stands out close to the Oslo waters. Once inside, the lobby is spacious, bright, and beautifully decorated with a magnificent marble sculpture. There's also a restaurant where the early morning breakfast is served, and what a breakfast. It consists of a magnificent buffet including smoked salmon, smoothies, omelets, bacon, sausage, and eggs in various other forms, fresh fruits, pancakes with different delicious jams, and so much more, all cooked in front of you my a magnificent team of chefs. The wait staff is also great. They keep the restaurant and the tables impeccably clean, and keep the coffee flowing. Again, their level of service was impeccable. If I could give the hotel staff 10 stars I would. They made our stay not just comfortable, but magnificent! read more
Conveniently located next to huge mall ~190 stores. Nice boardwalk-type area and picturesque places to walk by nearby harbor; however, pretty far from Oslo. Room: Comfortable and sleek, like most Thon hotels in the area. Nothing really stands out, except that there were wifi issues in our room. Staff: Didn't interact with them very much, but no complaints. Breakfast: Meh. Just ok. Have had better tasting food at other hotels. Selection was ok, but had run out of some items. Dishes were not bussed very quickly. We ended up stacking our plates. Bottom Line: Wouldn't mind returning to the area because its a charming place for a walk, but may compare with other hotels in the area. read more

I arrived early (like 5 hours before normal check in) and I was praying that they had a room available. The woman at the front desk was overwhelmed with calls and another customer but she still helped me find an open room and was quite pleasant. She offered me a bag of cookies upon check in which I thought was a nice touch. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Some of my favorites included: -Several variations of eggs -Fresh fruit and vegetables -Smoked salmon, sliced turkey, salami and a few other cold cuts -Chicken meatballs -Fresh squeezed OJ machine -Espresso, coffee, cappuccino The rooms are a good size. Mine had two twin beds pushed together. There are no sheets on the bed, just a comforter. The hairdryer in the bathroom is pretty weak and it's one of those where you have to hold the button down during the entire operation. I did not see any other plugs in the restroom except for one that was marked for shavers only - not sure if a straightener or curling iron would fly. So if you brought your hairdryer or styling device from home you may have to use it out in the main room. Oh, but the restrooms have heated floors - such a nice touch! I didn't like that there was no lockable safe in the room, but there was a small refrigerator which included mini bar items. They also offer a robe and slippers to each guest. The gym can be accessed by using the elevator and choosing "U". I tried going down the stairs immediately to the left of the hotel entrance but I think that is all meeting and event rooms so don't go down there. The gym itself has a couple of treadmills, bikes, weight machines and free weights. It also sported a couple of tanning beds - who would've thought? In the locker rooms there are showers, restrooms and a sauna. Coffee, tea and water are available in the lobby - not sure if it's 24 hours a day but anytime I needed it, it was available. There are shuttles with service to various professional destinations in the surrounding area including Billingstad and the DNV office among others. This shuttle operates from 7a-9a. One of these shuttles also nicely agreed to take me to the train station upon my departure. They are also very close to the mall and within walking distance of several restaurants so you're definitely not stranded at the hotel. Overall, very nice stay - I would definitely stay there again. read more
