I was abandoned by my attorney Laura Wellen just a week and a half before trial.We were supposed to meet to prepare for the trial and she decided to go to a Browns game instead. Wouldn't answer my emails or calls, and no one in the firm took the liberty to answer me either. I got a letter in the mail just yesterday saying she resigned from the case. Left with NO representation in my trial. Not a single person from the firm has been professional about this and I am still waiting for answers. read more

I had Laura Wellen as a guardian for my custody case a while back that I initiated due to my ex's neglect and alienation of my children. She seemed to care more about what the kids wanted opposed to what was best for them. I took my sons phone away at one point during that timeframe because he was posting inappropriate content on YouTube. She contacted me and said taking my sons phone away was a "dick move". Real professional! In communication with my ex, I had asked her to make sure my kids hygiene needs were met as they would come to my house unbathed and their teeth not brushed on a regular basis. I had shared this message with Laura and she completely disregarded and never addressed. On Laura's report she did not address any real concerns such as neglect, hygiene, lack of school work being completed, and alienation that I've dealt with from the kids mother. Instead, she empowered the kids mother and the report bashed me saying I have anger issues and tried to give me less than a standard schedule. Drug addicts and people with mental illness get a standard schedule, but not me because I have my kids bathe regularly and I make sure they have structure at my home??? Laura has no business being a guardian in any case. She empowered a deadbeat mother that doesn't take good care of my children, compared to a father who has the kids best interest in mind. Laura does not have kids of her own, and has no business making custody suggestions. I would not use this firm period, based on the fact they hired her to represent the firm. I would give 0 stars if I could. If you share a similar experience with Laura as your guardian, make sure you dismiss the case and reopen it with a request for a different guardian if possible.
