The tour is really well done, the walkways are easy to navigate and there were plenty of opportunities to take in the amazing views. The staff were extremely helpful and so accommodating. We purchased gold mining buckets for our 5 grandchildren but one of them didn't get an amethyst. She didn't notice and neither did we however the staffer did. He sought us out and gave us a piece of amethyst for her. Our tour guide was also amazing, very informative and entertaining. As an out of shape old grandma the cave return walk was a bit challenging for me but worth every muscle ache.

Not much going on in winter from what I saw, but it's a cool place to visit if you're near the Wheeler Park. We did saw a palliated wood pecker on one of the many dead trees in the swamp. It's an easy walk along a boardwalk that dead ends at a creek. Really cool trees! See the website for directions. They lead us straight to it.

While the trail starts on the map where indicated, we recommend parking at the middle school and dropping in midway along the trail. (There's a nice park there as well.) Trail is fairly flat with a few little hills here and there, but overall decent enough that we took a stroller and didn't have any issues beyond just being tired of pushing our youngest. Great views along the way of wooded areas, some little wetland pieces, going under bridges by a busy highway - good variety to keep the little ones entertained and remember landmarks on your return trip of this out and back style trail. Was a wonderful little break to our trip - very happy we found it and highly recommend to anyone passing through.

It has a lot to offer and I genuinely enjoyed my time here. Communities need parks like this where that community can gather in respite and recreation. What a fantastic park for cross country meets, sand volleyball, indoor bathroom facilities and…read morejogging trails. You can tell that this sprawling land was once a golf course that had become an economic burden on the City. It has been designed for flexibility, for 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K events, and also marked off in miles. There are tree clumps, man made ponds and natural beauty throughout. This is probably one of the nicest parks I've been to.
