The tour is really well done, the walkways are easy to navigate and there were plenty of opportunities to take in the amazing views. Be warned that it is a little chilly in the cave, but you should be good with a decent jacket.

The staff were extremely helpful and so accommodating. We purchased gold mining buckets for our 5 grandchildren but one of them didn't get an amethyst. She didn't notice and neither did we however the staffer did. He sought us out and gave us a piece of amethyst for her. Our tour guide was also amazing, very informative and entertaining. As an out of shape old grandma the cave return walk was a bit challenging for me but worth every muscle ache.

Note you arrive at the walls and it's a pretty little pool with mini waterfalls. You need to climb up the waterfalls to see the really impressive formations. Definitely worth the effort. But, climbing back up to the parking lot: disheartening. I had a miserable time. Also to note, do not make the mistake I did of going in July in Alabama: the heat and humidity were intense.

The trail was still stunning though with all the fall foliage which is the reason why we came. None of us are particularly fit but we managed just fine took us just so ver an hour each way. Next time I would bring a picnic. Another thing, check the weather before you go. It was quite warm for late October, we were shedding layers like there was no tomorrow. I wish I had worn a tank top. Also the terrain is not difficult but hiking shoes are definitely the best option, but you'd be fine wearing sneakers.

This was a part of a nice enough park and all in all, it was a cool place to spend a bit of time before climbing in my car and dealing with a couple hour drive. Our communities need parks and greenways. We need places that we can escape to and get away from modern living and get a glimpse of nature. Overall, I would definitely recommend here.

There's a very narrow path to the left of the falls, but not an easy path. Also getting to the path requires threading through the water atop the waterfall. Can littles swim there, yes absolutely with strict supervision. Use caution and plan according.
