I went for a horseback ride with three peak's outfitters out of Cle Elum Washington. Only it wasn't just a ride we had an intent in mind. Trail clearing of fallen trees that block access to the trail system. As you can see in the pictures it's not just some leisurely ride into the cascade mountains, it was work. But it was good work. Like a great CrossFit workout. Cutting these trees is all done with a hand saw, because you cannot use any gas or electrical equipment in the wilderness. In conjunction with the U.S. Forest service these trails get cleared and opened up for all hikers to enjoy. So if you're ever out there on these trails take time to think about how they got cleared of the trees you walk through when you see those cut logs laying there. And if you ever see the trail clearers thank them for what they do. Thanks to the wranglers at 3 Peaks for helping our family of four have a great trail ride. We had riders age 10 and 11 as well as two older adults - all of us quite inexperienced. They made it easy - at no point did any of our party feel like we couldn't handle our horse. The trails and scenery were just perfect and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We paid $55/hr/horse and it came to just under $260 with a small tip. read more

I was visiting family who live at Suncadia for the Christmas holiday and have always wanted to go on an authentic sleigh ride but it has never worked out before. Well this time I made it happen and it was a fantastic experience. They were too booked up to take my full party (don't be like us...book ahead at least a couple days for this!) but they were able to squeeze me in as a solo person morning of since I was the one who really wanted to do it. The price was fair (about $25 per adult, not sure about kids) and the ride is 30 minutes. They provide warm fuzzy blankets for during the ride and hot cocoa at the end of your ride. They will also take photos of you with your camera on the sleigh. The ride was super relaxing (snow was falling!) and since I was by myself, I got to sit up front with the guide even though there were two other families on the ride with me. The scenery was beautiful. If the conditions are right and you are here in the winter, it's a great family friendly activity. It was definitely the highlight of my trip! The signs are easy to spot from the road and parking is easy. You can book online in advance through their website or if you get lucky last minute (like me), you can pay onsite (cash or card). read more

Scott, Michele, and Burton showed four of us a fantastic 6-day, 5-night, adventure in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area in the Cascade Mountain Range. They made our trip comfortable, fun, educational, exciting, and forever memorable. Their food and camp accommodations were perfect. Their willingness to please and surprise (limes, strawberry rhubarb pie, Starbucks, fresh huckleberry pancakes, and more) was excellent. They answered our questions timely via phone and email, they accommodated some changes in our group, and most amazing was how our guide handled my son's anxiety about the ride. I went on an all day ride with my best friend yesterday and it was amazing!!! Cindy was our wrangler and she was the best!!! We had a beautiful day's ride to Pete Lake with a great lunch at lakeside. The horses were amazing, even with a horrible husky trying to bite their legs on the trail. It could have been a disaster, but Cindy was great to help us through this and the horses were rock solid. The dogs owner should never be allowed to take an aggressive dog off leash on a public trail. A big thank you to Cindy!!! It was a wonderful fun day and a very memorable experience! This is my second time riding with Three Peaks and I will definitely ride again!!! read more

Wow.....what an amazing trip! We were a group of woman aged 45-80 and had an absolutely incredible time. We did the two night, three day camping trip with MIchele and Ellye and their wonderfully gentle horses. They were organized, friendly, and prompt. MIchele and Ellye worked their tails off making sure that we were comfortable, well fed, and as engaged as we wanted to be. They suggested hikes, swimming spots, trail rides and showed us some very special spots that would never be found without them. The support crew of mules and cowboy Scott were also incredible and an extremely important part of the experience. Because they were loaded and practically ready to go when we arrived with our gear, it was very timely for initial departure. They rode ahead, set our camp and made sure that we were well stocked. We would definitely like to plan another trip with their company and highly recommend anyone looking for the perfect mix between backpacking and glamping - this is it! Treat yourself!! read more

Execellent excursion from Suncadia Lodge. Our trip was just three of us; easy ride and good conversation with Mikayla (sp), the owners daughter. Nice horses and plenty to see during the trail ride. They do longer trips and corporate rides,in addition to hunting trips if that's your desire. Very relaxing and everyone there was nice. Well worth the cost and would do it again. read more

Michelle made our Washington horseback riding experience amazing! My horse Hutch was a sweetie, keen on eating, but also very willing to take direction when prompted. The scenery was unbeatable, the horses were extremely well taken care of and Michelle provided lots of local history and lore along the trail. A perfect way to see the outdoors! read more
