Trail clearing of fallen trees that block access to the trail system. As you can see in the pictures it's not just some leisurely ride into the cascade mountains, it was work. But it was good work. Like a great CrossFit workout. Cutting these trees is all done with a hand saw, because you cannot use any gas or electrical equipment in the wilderness. In conjunction with the U.S. Forest service these trails get cleared and opened up for all hikers to enjoy. So if you're ever out there on these trails take time to think about how they got cleared of the trees you walk through when you see those cut logs laying there. And if you ever see the trail clearers thank them for what they do. Three peaks outfitters offer's day rides, overnighters and other great adventures including sleigh rides in the winter, providing there is snow.....

These are shared trails and clearly the girl wasn't on a horse trail but on a road. During the week, campers learn how to improve their riding, both with a group horsemanship lesson and with a one on one round pen lesson. Campers also get to learn survival skills then put them to the test in fun mock survival situations. Campers get to ride on average 15 hours during any given week, all through amazing trails with views that are one of a kind. This was our best fishing trip in a long time, all thanks to a great team of guides!…read moreThis was our first time fishing on the Yakima in the Spring, but Todd Fukashima and his colleague Lucas Martinez got us properly prepared for the weather, set up two days of great fishing on the best sections of the river, and made this a 5 five star experience across the board! My wife and I have fished with Todd and Lucas in past summers, with great success, so when a good friend wanted to come out West for a couple of Spring days we set up two boats for two Yakima river floats. It was chilly in the mornings but we were well geared up, and after about 10AM we had beautiful weather, great boating, and great guiding from both Lucas and Todd. Everybody caught nice fish, buy my wife's 23 inch rainbow wowed the whole crew! Nice, fat 17 to19 inch fish were boated by all of us, both nymphing and through some great dry fly action. Todd and Lucas did a great job of setting us up right, with the right flies for each part of the day and section of the river. They are both skillful guides and educators, but also just plain fun to fish with!! This was one of the best trips ever and I can't thank Todd and Lucas enough for making sure we all had a great time! Will DEFINITELY call Ellensburg when we get time to get back to this great fishery!!

Stefan not only was a great guy to talk to, but he did a simply amazing job of putting us onto fish (e.g., "after this tree, there is some soft water on the seam where it drops off so cast it right there.") He also provided clear feedback when our mends got sloppy or we were missing strikes. It was unseasonably windy and cold in June so watch the weather and bring a beanie, a good fleece, and a good shell. Overall, we had a great time and I'd recommend this service to anyone. The canyon part of the Yakima, in particular, was very beautiful. And Sarah was a dream to work with on setting things up.

Approximately 70% of my life has been spent within 30 miles of Ellensburg and until this past…read moreweekend, I had no idea this park was here. Our eight-year-old recently discovered pump tracks and when we found out there was one in Ellensburg, we decided we needed to check it out. The pump track is only a small part of the larger Rotary Park. This place is got basketball courts, baseball/softball fields and large soccer fields. It even has a dog park that is larger than most of the parks that we frequent. The pump track is a small BMX track that works really well for bike riders of all ages and skill levels. There are four separate areas within this track, ranging from figure jumps with harder obstacles, all the way down to smaller dirt humps. The place is really nicely kept up and we spent a couple hours here, a few days in a row. The kids love it and there are a couple adjoining areas the lead to tennis courts and a playset. It made it really nice for the younger kids to be able to run around on a playset, and the older kiddo being able to continue to ride his bike while everyone was able to see us. If you haven't checked this place out, you owe it to yourself to do so! There's literally something for everybody!

Leavenworth Sleigh Rides at Beaver Creek Lodge was an absolute must-do during my trip and made even…read moremore special because it was my very first experience in the snow. Being from Hawaii, this was both exciting and exhilarating to say the least. The lodge is about a 30-minute drive from where we were staying at the Obertal Inn. We purchased our tickets online ahead of time, which I highly recommend since rides can sell out. Upon arrival, everything was well organized with clear signage directing us where to go. Check-in was conveniently located in the same area as the gift shop and coffee stand. Since we didn't want to hold anything during the ride, we waited to shop until afterward. After checking in, we were instructed to meet our guide out front near the fire pit. Once she arrived (I wish I remembered her name!), she walked us over to our carriage. It ended up being our lucky day because we had the carriage entirely to ourselves, which made the experience feel even more magical and intimate. Throughout the ride, our guide shared background history of the area and pointed out wildlife we might spot along the way. Sitting bundled up in the cold, surrounded by peaceful winter scenery, was such a serene and unforgettable experience. Before heading back, we stopped for hot apple cider which was absolutely delicious and exactly what we needed in the freezing temperatures. We also had the chance to take photos with the horse, who was incredibly sweet and even let us pet him. Overall, this experience exceeded all expectations. If you ever find yourself in Leavenworth, I would 100% say this is a must-do. It's a beautiful, memorable way to take in the winter magic of the area.

The mountains and trees all around make a beautiful backdrop. It can get a little crowded on the weekend, but we stayed until Tuesday so we got to enjoy the place while there was little people. We played a lot of volleyball & basketball and spent a lot of time by the little gazebo/hut place and in the pool. I like the location because it was right across from where we stayed (the wilderness lodge - really nice cabin rental!) and close to the lake and the town. Great place to go with the family and friends!
