They hung drywall and concrete board for us in a master bath, 3/4 bath, powder room, and laundry closet remodel. They also hung drywall in two closets, on a family room wall as well as repaired numerous holes in the plaster ceiling and walls made by the electrician. The quality of the work is excellent. They did not have any issues in working with us as "do it yourself" remodelers and were willing to make adjustments as needed to install drywall in our 100 year old house. They were also very considerate in keeping the dust to a minimum. Their costs are very reasonable and I was impressed that when we added a couple items to the job the additional charges were also reasonable and well explained. We prefer wet plaster over dry, so did checking and found ZMartin Plastering on Angi. The company had high ratings and the work looked great, so we scheduled Brian Zmuda to come out and look at what needs to be done and gave me an estimate and went over what the issues were with the ceiling in both areas and explained it thoroughly so I could understand and told me what materials as far as the paint, plaster, and more, and how he was going to do it, and even showed me this insurance and then quoted me a fair price. I was happy and then scheduled him to come out in three weeks. Brian came out three weeks later on 05/23/23 after we were finishing stucco painting and he began to work. I could tell he knew about doing plaster work for an older house. He started with the two ceilings and did it in order and was clean using the right materials. He plastered it well leaving no mess and with wet plaster, and then once he finished he explained that the plaster dry's in less than a week and told me to house spot primer first in the area before applying paint which where are doing for the whole apartment's unit. I was happy and knew he was skilled and explained what materials you are supposed to use and he also does stucco is great to know since we have some stucco repair on our main house to do. I can highly recommend ZMarting for any paltering work he seems very honest and did not take long to reduce the price since it was a simple job. We will be working with him in the future. One problem with home ownership is finding people to do smaller jobs that most contractors don't…read morewant to bother with. Another is dealing with a municipality that demands everything to be done by licensed and insured contractors and has a list of their approved contractors but doesn't require them to show proof of workman's comp insurance (Orland Park). So right off the bat you're stuck either overpaying someone "approved" to replace a perfectly good deck or fence when all they need is some simple repair, or giving up and letting it stay broken. You can't fix it yourself because you're not an "approved contractor" and a lot of handyman services are just a guy with a truck. I found a flyer at my local Ace Hardware for these guys and saw they are both licensed and insured and on Orland's worthless approved contractor list. Communication was professional and they showed up on time to evaluate and give an estimate to do some work to the deck and fence. Our handyman recommended a deckover product for our older deck to help fill flaws and cracks. It's an older deck but still solid and not worth replacing yet. The product worked well and the work was done well too. He even suggested we go get the supplies to save some cash, which we did. He also installed a new fixture in the stairwell we've had for like three years because I couldn't figure out how to get up there to install it. We're happy with the results on our deck and light fixture install and looking forward to getting a few posts reset for the fence. We'll be using this service again for sure.
